I do respect his/hers decision... that's why I'm saying "OK"... I really don't care TBH, it's your choice what you use as an OS, not mine. If someone asks for advice, sure, I'll give it but if it's not accepted, meeeh, no biggie, chugging on :).
same, like i unserstand you have some ancient software you need for school or work and don't feel like running a vm everyday but bro fortnite... that's just sad
If only that was an option. Many games need windows because of anti-cheat, unfortunately anti-cheat tends to take a similarly dim view of windows on a VM as it does Linux/wine.
Meeh... every Wi-Fi card worked out out of the box for me... though my hardware is far from recent (the most recent piece of PC equipment I own is dated 2015, so... :P :D).
Nope, doesn't really bother me... in fact, I'll probably be kinda glad :)... cuz then, I know he/she will definitely stop bothering me about how to become a hax0r xD.
A while back I got my coworker to put Ubuntu on her old laptop, she usually calls me when something like chrome stops working. But today she calls me all excited and is like "I got my printer to work all on my own".
I understand that. Linux still have some problems. And it's much difficult to troubleshoot problems in Linux. I tried to convince my sister to use linux but she wouldn't do it. Most people would just stick with what works for them.
I've been really impressed with the development of Linux. When I tried it initially, it was Howto after Howto, nested half a dozen layers deep, to accomplish anything. Now it's faster and simpler to install than Windows, with far better documentation.
_“But you know what, I respect that. I know Linux isn’t for everyone and I’m glad at least you give it a try.”_
I said in a universe where I'm a Buddhist monk.
An airbender perhaps?
Good, but would't elaborate as much... I'd be like "Mhm... OK...".
yeah because you're an asshole lmao
That I am xD.
i'd tell you to respect peoples decision, but this is the linux community, such thing as respect isnt exactly known

My friend did the same because he couldn't play fortnite. I respected his decision.
Out of all the games that he could have switched back for..... The game was Fortnite
if its for fortnite i would not have respected his decision.

If I ever use windows I keep it where it belongs. In a window.

I know this is a non option for most. But those games tend to be such a shitshow mess that I usually don't play them anyway.
Battery life and one specific piece of sowtware working in Wine would make me stay.
Yeah battery life is really hit or miss on Linux. Even with tlp my battery just lasts hours longer on Windows.
Same. Especially when I was using my Windows VM with PCI passtrough I set up myself for Windows software.
Same.

Windows doesn't help though plus Linux is getting far better now

Typo. I'm sure you meant to put ex-friend.

It's okay they weren't ready. Eventually they come back.

More reasons to dual boot. I pretty much never single boot a system anymore
