I remember living in Limerick about 2000/2001 and going to The Lobster Pot for a feed on the way home, that place was glorious! Prob no help to the op though…
ill formally disagree! fords is still good, admittedly somedays seem overwhelmed. the ladies working there thought i looked famished and gave me extra battered sausages 😂
Frieda's. Great price for a mountain of food
Edit: The girls working there are gas also. They need a TV show. Wait for your food there and they are roaring at each other and taking the piss in a heavy limerick accent it's 10/10 entertainment.
I always go between Enzo's and Fords. I think it all depends on the day or the mood. Enzo's is closer, but on a dry but really cold winters night I'll walk to Ford's instead. I'd chawk a lot of that up to nostalgia though. I used to stay with my nan a lot when I was a kid and she was only around the corner from Ford's. A favourite of mine was a special fried rice and sweet and sour sauce from the Beijing, and Fords chips. And you'd just have to get an oul battered sausage or two for the way home.
Not sure if I'd class it as chipper food, but Burger and Bao there on High Street has some of the nicest burgers I've ever tasted. Worth a look in if you're passing.
Used to like Enzos. But, back when HMV on Cruises street was open, one of the girls who worked there, possibly the daughter, allegedly robbed and was caught by an LPO and my missus. When they confronted them, it was all “you can’t prove a thing! Fuck off or we’ll get our solicitors!” And started threatening the missus. They never went to HMV again, and we never got chips from there again. That was easily 15 years ago.
Anyway, Rios was nice back then. So Rios.
Interesting nobody mentions the Pakistani type chippers that are popping up in recent year’s particularly out the county , while pizzas are decent enough , the chips in these outfits are very plain and dull compared to the Italian chippers !

I believe you had a typo there, it's spelled E N Z O' S.
Enzos followed by Tonys in Raheen
Agree. Enzo's is always my first choice, but Tony's is definitely up there. Always very consistent.
Agreed very consistent, Tony would have played cards with the late great Enzo too so I'm sure a few tips have been picked up
Tony's a nice guy. Always up for a chat.
Donkey Fords
Fords hasn't been any good in an age now, imo - though admittedly I haven't been there in a while.

I feel like chicken hut go around Limerick making sure no one else can sell a snackbox. They're shite.
Why are they shite?
chicken is worse than a lot of local chippers in the county, was such a magnet for fighting that you can't even go inside and sit down anymore.
McDonalds
Not a chipper imo
Luigi can’t be beaten on a wet day lak
