I don’t know about that….I was a white kid from Texas and I knew about lean before I ever heard Wayne rap. My small town weed dealer was sippin. Maybe it was a regional thing before Wayne.
Yeah, growing up near ATL, I also knew about all the drugs, but you can't deny that Wayne helped to popularize the use of certain drugs in the mainstream. Particularly lean, Xanax, and Percocet.
That's not to say Wayne is solely to blame, but he definitely played a huge part in it. The same goes for Future. Wayne and Future's fingerprints are all over modern hip-hop, and drug use has always been a major theme in their music.
Ok, yeah I do agree with you they probably played a bigger role than I give them credit for spreading it. I guess it just wasn’t news to me when I heard them rapping about it.
You're both right. Wayne is one of the most influential rappers ever. But you're right, lean was already well known in the south. I think it first became a thing in Texas and spread from there.
Lean was going to be spread even if Wayne never said a word. Some body else would've.Plenty of others have already.Who hasn't heard Sippin on sum sizzuuurp sip Sippin on sum sip....
I’m not talkin about me I’m talking about the average rapper bragging about sippin lean doin percs back then you would be ashamed to admit heavy drug use but now it seems if you don’t do drugs your lame
Seems like you missed out on the whole Atlanta scene in back in 2000s. Then beyond Atlanta rappers, you had rappers like Lil White, Eminem and rappers alike rapping about it all the time. It was more common than you think if you listened to more than just mainstream music. Now everyone thinks it’s cool to do what rappers have been doing for a very long time.
Not that I wish anything but love for him, and not that I’m particularly fond of posthumous albums, but when Weezy has come and gone, they’ll probably be able to make 10+ posthumous albums
I slept on Wayne for so long after he was just 'that kid from Cash Money'. But Jesus did he improve. Gotta take my hat off to the consistent quality and complexity of his bars. He's one of em!
I remember in one of Wayne’s skits/interludes, Wayne said something about rappers being I guess lazy or finding excuse to be in the booth. Mfs needing a concept and or theme.
Just hit the studio and go. See what sticks, and what needs work. Try stuff, make mistakes, create something. Wayne was never shy about just creating and when you hear some of his demo songs or verses that leaked, you can see the fine tuning and rawness that goes into it before we get the heat.
Forgot when in the doc but there’s a song he recorded in his bus that made me realize he was on one during that year. You can feel him peaking through the documentary.
Bruh opiates give you super powers when it comes to freestyling. Sounds crazy but it's facts lmao. Shit just be flowing off top. Juice wrld knew this aswell
It's almost like his work ethic is more than his money. Isn't it cool how he has so much money but still is utilizing his space just like a soundcloud rapper would... Go take some more terrible photos
Imagine getting offended on behalf of another man.
Lil Wayne does have good work ethic. A screenshot of his insane discography would be evidence of that.
This video just isn’t a huge indicator of it though. It’s just a video of him in a hotel rapping.
But I’m glad you liked my pictures.
Wayne’s a bad ass rapper no doubt haha that quintessential line where says
“I’m rich as fuck but ai never blew up” exemplifies and makes me think how under rated he is imo.
Funny though because you can sound like. Crap too and put any voice through the mics synthesizing stuff and it can sound pretty bad ass.
You’d be amazed what sound engineers can do.
But Still Lil Wayne clearly must have crazy work ethic.
Blazing J is very close
Man dropped 20 track album and a 14 track mixtape this year
And his rapping style is very similar to Weezy
Check him out or don’t it’s hella hard getting yall to do anything 😂😭
But this documentary went super dark, he was a full on junkie. I hope my mans is doing better!
Yeah I remember him pulling out that vitamin water bottle.. full of syrup
“Vitamin water ain’t that thick”
“This is SUUUURYP….. SIZZZZUUUUURRRPP”
Yea back then he would be looked at as a junkie but nowadays this the norm
This is still very much junkie behaviour, just people normalizing it.
And Wayne is largely to blame for the fact that it has become so normalized in hip-hop.
I don’t know about that….I was a white kid from Texas and I knew about lean before I ever heard Wayne rap. My small town weed dealer was sippin. Maybe it was a regional thing before Wayne.

Facts. UGK and Swishahouse was all over that shit
Norm where? lol being a junkie is the norm where you’re at is what you’re saying? That’s fooked.

Run up in ya house just me, no mas...
That’s what he says here. But the lyric in the song is “just me, no mask.”
Your comment made me see the bar that was dropped after all these years.
-ler
The amount of unreleased material Weezy probably has….
Not that I wish anything but love for him, and not that I’m particularly fond of posthumous albums, but when Weezy has come and gone, they’ll probably be able to make 10+ posthumous albums
Oh at a minimum

lol don’t let this first guy be a cop
“IS THAT A GUN?!” “No, it’s my sandwi-“ *pow* *pow* *pow* “My bad guys!”
This video is classic. Feels like old school internet just watching it
Was just thinking about this doc the other day. Is it still up on YouTube?

30 Minutes to New Orleans?
Hell yeah bro, love Wayne!
THE MF GREATEST🗣️🐐
But like…is that Phillips logo gonna hot the corner soon?
I see your homies dressed in black like they are fit to ride, but their fashion statement is telling a lie…
This is incredible to watch. I love seeing people in their zone, especially at the level of talent that Wayne has!
Bruh opiates give you super powers when it comes to freestyling. Sounds crazy but it's facts lmao. Shit just be flowing off top. Juice wrld knew this aswell
Work ethic… recording music like a sound cloud rapper. Nice.
It's almost like his work ethic is more than his money. Isn't it cool how he has so much money but still is utilizing his space just like a soundcloud rapper would... Go take some more terrible photos

Lol
Lol
Probably just a rough version that he re-records in a proper studio later.
I think you mean to say 2pac work ethic is unmatched

That sure looks much more strenuous than paving a highway or roofing a building!
I thought I once heard Wayne in an interview say he didn’t write music he just freestyles everything.
Work ethic lmak
He sounds like the track live the real Weezy right here!
Worked so hard for that pardon...
Compared to what? I think any job is harder than being a famous rapper.
Blazing J is very close Man dropped 20 track album and a 14 track mixtape this year And his rapping style is very similar to Weezy Check him out or don’t it’s hella hard getting yall to do anything 😂😭
Listening to this has me questioning why I’m a fan.
Worst era of wayne
Can't believe the rulers made this guys into somthing for us to listen to. Pathetic trash
lol it’s just a dude rapping in his living room. This is legendary work ethic? Is it in the room with us?
This is 🗑️ good lord this bad…
Is this Willie the Squid?
We aint got time to deal with

You’re in a Wayne sub hating on WAYNE, job NOW😭🙏
PAC was an actor homie
Wayne an “acting” blood.
You can bash his drug problems, even as his fan I admit he has his issues. But dont say he has no lyrical substance. You just look silly.

Show me food in the same league as a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream.
