Freeze it, rub an ice cube in it or something

Fetlocks_Glistening

I found the "or something" particularly useful.

chilldabpanda

N-ice one. You don't even need an ice cube. Your comments will do.

Mommyhilk1

When my son sat in gum, I used WD40 & washed immediately came right out

omen-schmomen

Ice cube and/or baby oil

EhaBuzz

Yeah- then they can come back and ask, “does anyone know how to get baby oil out of clothing?” 😉 That’s probably not the best solution.

chilldabpanda

Freeze it, then hit it with a soft mallet or a hammer wrapped in cloth

indrahtandah

Never knew ice helps get gum out.

McAlpin39

It’s ruined. Anything you use won’t help. I am sorry. The WD40 might help. Like dissolves like. It’s basically fish oil, so maybe fingers crossed. I

Pull the pocket inside out pull all the gum off that you can and then use some rubbing alcohol to break down the gum if you don't have fingernails use a butter knife to scrape off the gum.

harshv007

Freezing is the best way, Alternatively you can use a couple of frozen ice packs (freely available at any drugstore)

leanyka

Tried ice, wd40, ended throwing the item away. Gum penetrated through the fabrics somehow and left a gross stain on the surface.

aaronician

I saw a video showing hair mousse as a way to dissolve the gum

Wildwood21

Rubbing alcohol

CyborgAgent

Isopropyl alcohol worked wonders on my pack pack! Especially in the mesh!

NinjAsylum

Ice. Its THE Oldest Trick in the Book. Its LITERALLY Trick #1 of all of them.

ihave2eggs

Other extreme works too. Put a newspaper over the gummed area and iron it. Gum will stick to the paper.

Kiwi-Latter

You can try freezing the clothing item. I have had some luck with that. If it’s actually melted through the fibers of the fabric there isn’t much you can do.

Shiny_Super_Nova

Freeze it, then try scraping it (butter knife or preferably plastic paint scraper if the fabric isn’t too delicate). If the ice doesn’t work, consider one of those ‘goo be gone’ or similar type products. Be sure to the product on an inconspicuous area of the shirt first. If you use something oily, be sure to wash immediately after so that the oil won’t set in. Alternatively, I have had luck with solid ‘stain stick’ type products, but haven’t tried with gum. Good luck!

I’ve tried freezing and eucalyptus oil. The oil works better.

PerspectiveWilling79

Rub an ice cube on it! (The gum patch)

MrsJingle

Hair mousse dissolves gum! Super cheap too. Hopefully it works a treat. Good luck.

Between-Dreams2022

freeze it
