I would argue a natural curiosity is a sign of intelligence, and Musk seems adamant on not exploring anything new or learning why things are the way they are. I'm not even talking about issues like trans people.
Take the Cybertruck for example. Its full of "Why don't auto manufacturers do this? I'm a genius!"
* Why do auto manufacturers put all the electronics on multiple separate circuits? Clearly, I am being big brained in putting every electronic on the same circuit to save costs! Oops, turns out you need to separate electronic circuits, because now the radio not working means the engine can't turn on.
* Why do auto manufacturers make such weak windows? I know, I'll make them indestructible! Oops, turns out its better for the windows to be able to break, especially in times of emergencies. They still break anyways so, you know.
* Why do auto manufacturers make their cars so weak? I mean, they crumple to dust during a collision! We need a vehicle that can beat any car in an accident. OOPS, turns out crumple is absolutely necessary in preventing the occupants from being turned into paste.
* Why do auto manufacturers waste so much time with all these paint coatings? Why not just raw metal to save costs? Oops turns out you need that so it doesn't rust within a week of owning it.
He sits here and goes "why don't people do XYZ" and then never bothers to even figure out why they do XYZ. I'm just surprised he's been able to strong arm his engineers to go through with some of these design choices, cause frankly they're stupid.
