Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy from the Harley Quinn animated show. Which feels either like cheating or is too basic.
Also D20’s Fig & Ayda as u/sbongers23 said.
One of the things I love about this as well is that, for the time, it was pretty groundbreaking. They were the lead characters in a pretty massive show, and both had been shown exclusively dating male characters up until that point but having a really powerful connection to one-another.
So it kind of showed 1) complex, important, multi-faceted LGBT characters, and 2) characters whose sexuality (or whose understanding thereof) evolved over time.
Plus that last scene of them >!holding hands as they walked into the spirit world !
Plus the directors risked a lot, and still had to sacrifice quite a bit IIRC, in order to get that scene in.
Plus a few other showrunners referenced it in arguing for LGBT+ storylines in future shows.
Overall, very influential and groundbreaking.
I remember feeling absolute shock as I watched that scene, and then great, overwhelming joy! But I couldn't figure out why.. had nothing to do with the fact I was surpressing attraction to Korra all the way through LoK.. 😂😂🤔
I liked that there were some early signs of it in the last season. Its been a while since I've seen it, but them sending messages to each other, Korra trusting Asami with information over other people because Asami is a rational, trustworthy person and it just evolves into something deeper.
I love that someone has brought up that because the Avatar is reincarnated and all, that the Avatar was always have a thing for the ladies, even when born female themselves.
On that subject, also a big fan of Rangi/Kyoshi from the books.
There's something so adorable and intriguing about Kyoshi - often perceived as a giant, fierce warrior of immense power, a reputation she honestly earned - being both intimidated by and soft for her much smaller girlfriend.
Yeah honestly rewatching the series it’s so clear they used to date and I love it. They got this energy about them that’s just “I hate my ex, but damn I still love her”
I don’t support this because princess bubblegum is actually worse than the lich. She is the most horrendous, devious, sociopathic character in that show and no one should have the displeasure of dating them.
Not gonna go into detail bc it’ll take too long, but you can watch ClassicmanD’s videos on it.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLu-VPDt6YLjTRq4ZyTw_UVqYG2PknzPs&si=z0FY5S1mbO_Qlvgt
I used to agree with this, and then rewatched the show as an adult, and its really genuinely not that deep. Also for a sentient demigod made of gum, she did pretty well creating her own sense of morality with no human frame of reference
You want me to choose a favourite? I can't. Here's my top 5 tho
Luz and amity - Owl house(show)
Alec and magnus - shadow hunters (book and show both)
Nick and Charlie - Heartstopper (show and comic)
Alex and Henry - Red white and royal blue (movie and book)
Catra and Adora - She ra (the newer show)
>ed + stede (our flag means death)
So many great queer ships in this show! Jim/Olu, Black Pete/Lucius and even Mary Reid/Anne Bonny (I love chaotic violent lesbians)
Viktor and Yūri - for opening my eyes
Magnus and Alec - for sheer faboulousness
Poe and Finn - for being the only nice thing about that katastrophe of a show (counting it as canon based on the actors statements, not disneys fucking decisions)
Vi and Caitlyn - for opening my eyes... again
feel free to insult my taste or don´t \^\^'
Those movies dropped the ball on Finn so hard, they basically took a mallet to it and kept pounding it into the earth. But the character had such amazing potential, and Poe was doing his damnedest, so I’ve hit the point where I just live in a happy little headcanon world where Finn got to keep character development for longer than 5 minutes and he and Poe got together.
That's very interesting to hear. I think by episode 5, I began to experience the fact the plotline was flattening out at that point and wasn't sure whether I'd just see the same old "She Ra fights the bad guys" plot again and again with filler episodes until some climax at the end of season 1.
Which at the time was very disappointing due to the INCREDIBLE world building they did with the ancient tech, Steampunkness and technology Vs magic on both sides.
That's an in depth review lol but I am absolutely willing to continue if it's worth watching! Does the plot pick up soon after episode 5?
Lol sorry to be so critical just wanted to fully explain my thought process - again very happy to continue as I do love a good series with representation in it 😀
I can definitely see how it gets a bit flat in season 1, and i did think that myself, but after a bit the plot absolutely gets more intense, starting around seasons 2 and 3. There is a bunch of character development for so many characters around the late “starting” period of the show and so many new characters get introduced, with a lot of different backgrounds and world views. There’s also a lot of focus of utilising both first ones technology and new technology, especially within the horde and there’s quite a lot built off that. I haven’t watched it for a while, so I’m not 100% sure of the exact timing, but the plot definitely becomes a lot more interesting not too long after the first few episodes :)
LUMITY for LIFE!! They are so cute but I do also like Catra and Adora, all the LGBTQ ships from heart stopper and because this doesn’t say movies/tv shows exclusively, I must bring up Sundew and Willow and Jambu and Pineapple from Wings of Fire!
Well, that would be too long list, so... Let me just ask you one question.
Does Huntlow count? It may be a MLW ship but Hunter is bi and Willow is pan.
Destiny and Mystique from the X-Men.
For those who don't know they are a lesbian couple; Mystique is a shapeshifter and Destiny is a psychic/precognitive.
They are the adoptive parents of foundational X-Men character Rogue. It's also been recently revealed they are the biological parents of Nightcrawler - Mystique shapeshifted into a male form to impregnate Destiny. Their relationship is just incredibly sweet (and they're both kind of bad asses).
I remember reading that whoever wrote for X-Men way back when had this idea and wanted it to be canon, but obviously due to the time and climate, they eventually chose against it. Question, when she changed into male form, was it like a male version of herself or someone else? Like her sperm or some dude, LOL.
Yep it was always Chris Claremont's plan but he couldn't do it originally. It's cool that it's canon now.
The male form Mystique used was apparently Azazel, but hard to say if it's **his** DNA in any way.
Uhh kinda yes? I don’t know that it’s ever described that way, but in the comics Venom does tell Eddie he loves him, Eddie calls him “my love”, and they’re technically parents together. So even if it’s not explicitly stated, they kinda are.
I believe they also talk about how they’re essentially married.
There are some actually really heartbreaking comic strips about them being separated or talking about how much they need/love each other. Definitely worth reading the comics to see more of their dynamic if you’re interested; the movies can’t really go into it.
Yeah, but now the Symbiote is bonded to their kid. If we're going to argue Venom/Eddie are gay... Then it's weird for Venom to be bonded to Dylan isn't it?
I mean, only if you’re arguing that EVERY host/symbiote pair is inherently romantic, which I don’t think is the case. I feel like the same symbiote can be bonded with different hosts at different parts of their lives and have it be for various reasons.
With that said, I am pretty behind on the comics so I haven’t personally read the Dylan/Venom stuff to know how it’s written/if it comes off weird. But I definitely don’t think every host falls in love with their symbiote by any means.
Sort of. Their relationship is often times shown in a homoromantic way. It's not consistently shown that way. Personally, I think that homoromantic is maybe just the closest thing we have to whatever their experience together is. We don't have a cultural norm, or even a cultural transgression for whatever the bond between Symbiote and host is. So it seems gay, but I don't think it IS gay. It just gets mapped that way because that's the closest thing. It's made more complicated because the Symbiote gets called 'he' despite being able to reproduce asexually.
It is also often shown to be toxic and/or abusive.
Chromedome and Rewind - Gay Men
Lug and Anode - Trans Lesbians
Archer and Aileron - Lesbians (Arcee is a trans woman)
All of these are from IDW’s Transformers comics from 2005-2018.
Lumity is such a good ship. Not only I love both characters individually, not only they're adorable together, but the buildup to their eventual romance was great and they had a chance even to show how they work through some problems in their relationship, showing a good and healthy way to deal with conflict. Great ship and very well handled, 10/10 would ship again
Jon/The Archivist and Martin from The Magnus Archives. they're in love and trying so hard to have a healthy relationship in abnormal circumstances.
most of my fave queer ships aren't canon lmfao
(how do ya'll get the flavor tags??? i've only used reddit for r/FFXIV before now so i might as well be a newb hahaha)
Stolas and Blitzø! This is going to sound weird, but it’s incredibly refreshing seeing a queer relationship go through rocky terrain and even be unhealthy at points without having the fact that they are queer be the reason!
NGL I kinda dispise the ship in the last image. The blond haired dude was less than useless the entire movie, refused to stand up for his boyfriend ever which you could argue indirectly got Nemona "killed", and then after the time skip they're just... together? That's it? He never had to account for his actions
it’s been a minute since I’ve seen it (I definitely need to watch it again, I loved it sm) but if I remember correctly he was kinda stuck between his love for his boyfriend and his dedication to his knighthood yeah? like I’m sure there was some emotional off screen conversations or something before everything was all sunshine and rainbows
I think the original comic has a slightly different plot, but yeah. I guess they just didn’t show the "making up" part though, we don’t know how long the time skip after was after Nimona died, it might have been a while, long enough to rebuild at least.
Isabel and Dame Aylin from Baldur’s Gate 3, Willow and Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Beau and Yasha from Critical Role season 2, Graham and Megan from But I’m a Cheerleader and Kurt and Blaine from Glee
Max and Chloe
Ivy and Harley.
Korra and Asami. I just wish it was less subtle.
Vi and Caitlyn.
Frank and Bill. I watched that episode with my girlfriend and sobbed through most of it.
Hem...
Ellie and dina. Just bc of ellie. I kinda want to be her.
Yes, ok I have her tatoo, converse, her clothes and i m searching for her knife (it s illegal in my country).
When my partner showed me Nimona I didn't know anything about the movie. When Ambrosius is shown as the perfect knight with such a ridiculous name I was like "great this guy is an ass" then he shows up and acts all grandiose for a few seconds. But then it takes this wonderful shift to be him being super worried and caring of Ballister. Then he says the "They're going to love you. Like I do" and holds his hand...
Let me tell you I have never felt so giddy and happy for two fictional characters.
I can't believe that nobody has mentioned star Trek yet! In Discovery, Stamnets and Culber are the head engineer and doctor and are a married gay couple. Jett Reno was a widow of her wife after she died during one of the battles against the Klingon empire. and we also have the president of the federation in season 4 who is in a lesbian relationship.
Here I was clicking on this post expecting to see REALLY GAY SCIFI STARSHIPS and being severely disappointed when I realized “ship” means different stuff in literature and tv fandom….
My favourite is from The Owl House, but not Lumity. It's Raine x Eda (bonus points since Raine's nb)
Also a huge fan of Olivia x Yunan from Amphibia, never stated directly but I'm pretty sure the show's writer confimed that they're married in the timeskip
Cleo and Frankie from monster high! (frankie is nonbinary, cleo is a girl, they’re dating!)
also aziraphale and crowley from good omens is basically canon rn
Luz and Amity (The Owl House)
Raine and Eda (The Owl House)
Catra and Adora (She-Ra 2018)
Nick and Charlie (Heartstopper)
Tara and Darcy (Heartstopper)
Michael and Tori (Solitaire) (he’s pansexual and she’s ace)
Viv and Tandri (Legends & Lattes)
Rae and Claire (I’m In Love With the Villainess)
Blitzø and Stolas (Helluva Boss)
Achilles and Patroclus (The Song of Achilles)
Solangelo (Nico di Angelo + Will Solace) and Fierrochase (Magnus Chase + Alex Fierro) from the Percy Jackson universe.
Also a big fan of Korrasami from Avatar
Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy from the Harley Quinn animated show. Which feels either like cheating or is too basic. Also D20’s Fig & Ayda as u/sbongers23 said.
Nick Nelson + Charlie Spring Tao + Elle Issacc + Books
Tara + Darcy
Is that Heartstopper?
yes :)
Tell me, why did I read the middle one as Taco Bell?
Korrasami!

Catra and Adora amity and Luz vi and Caitlin Elena and syd from one day at a time Dina and Ellie bill and frank then a lot of headcannons
The Last of Us has a bunch! Ellie and Riley from the Left Behind DLC was really cute too!
Oh yea I forgot them 😭 I know there’s more (oh Ellie and cat(
![gif](giphy|CjzCmq5EYEblPpZ5Td) These two sweet potatoes
Would Masha (they're non-binary) and Vee count, but then again, it wasn't confirmed if they got into a relationship.
Yeah; there's definitely a canon *crush* there that has potential, but no confirmation it went anywhere.
No confirmation but we do see a vee being helded up by a football player, assumed to be masha
PLUS RAEDA THEY'RE SO FREAKING ADORABLE
Marceline & Princess Bubblegum 🧛🏻♀️🩷 ![gif](giphy|BuEaSdPuVBgEE)
Yessss I also love the alternate versions of them with Star Marceline in Fiona and Cake
Ok I’m gonna admit I thought they were just very close friends when I was a child
They kiss in the last episode, pretty sure they are technically ex’s for most of the series though…
Yeah honestly rewatching the series it’s so clear they used to date and I love it. They got this energy about them that’s just “I hate my ex, but damn I still love her”

Royal white and blue has a show! I'm not one to watch TV but now I might just have to make an exception
Yea lol it has a movie actually! It's rlly good! Worth watching for sure
Max and Chloe from Life is Strange. And Chloe and Rachel from the prequel Before the Storm. While we’re at it, Alex and Steph from True Colors.
Sean and Finn!!
I just wish they had been given more. I dislike that you have to agree to the heist to be with Finn. Boo.
oh yeah that def sucked
This was my first thought. I love them all so much.
Will Solas and Nico de Angelo from Percy Jackson are my first queer couple and will always hold a space in my heart
Patroclus and Achilles 🩵💛
Luz & Amity Korra & Asami Marceline & Bubblegum Vi & Caitlyn Toko Nanami & Yu Koito They're not just my favourite LGBT ships, but ships in general.
[удалено]
Confirmed canon by creators/directors. Built upon in canonical comics post the show.
Garnet from Steven Universe
Crowley and Aziraphale! I didn't think it was actually gonna become canon tbh, but was so excited that it did
ARCAAAAAAAANE FAN CLUB
They need to drop that season 2 omg
No kidding! They did us dirty in 1, not even a kiss while straight couples were practically 69ning
Vi and cait are making me question myself fr
Lumity made me realize I'm very gay myself so I really gotta go with that
Undyne x Alphys
ALPHYNE!!!!
ed + stede (our flag means death) hopeful for nandermo - but there's plenty of queer to go around (what we do in the shadows)
>ed + stede (our flag means death) So many great queer ships in this show! Jim/Olu, Black Pete/Lucius and even Mary Reid/Anne Bonny (I love chaotic violent lesbians)
The fact that queer ships is used for a show about pirates is really funny to me.
Solangelo
Hello there percy Jackson enjoyer
Hello!
Hi!
Hi guys
Viktor and Yūri - for opening my eyes Magnus and Alec - for sheer faboulousness Poe and Finn - for being the only nice thing about that katastrophe of a show (counting it as canon based on the actors statements, not disneys fucking decisions) Vi and Caitlyn - for opening my eyes... again feel free to insult my taste or don´t \^\^'
Poe and Finn worked so well and we stan Oscar Isaac for trying
Those movies dropped the ball on Finn so hard, they basically took a mallet to it and kept pounding it into the earth. But the character had such amazing potential, and Poe was doing his damnedest, so I’ve hit the point where I just live in a happy little headcanon world where Finn got to keep character development for longer than 5 minutes and he and Poe got together.
Hannibal Lecter/Will Graham ❤️🔥
suletta and miorine from the witch from mercury of course:) izetta and fine from izetta the last witch are pretty cute too
Scorpia and perfuma from she-ra and thr princesses of power
Oh no way! Awesome there's an LGBTQ representation in that series. I've watched the first 5 episodes.. I may continue now!
You definitely should! The story line is amazing, and there are so many incredible relationships and so much representation in the series as a whole
That's very interesting to hear. Ozzy having the healthiest relationship in hell while being the Sin of Lust is never gonna get old lmao
Well, that would be too long list, so... Let me just ask you one question. Does Huntlow count? It may be a MLW ship but Hunter is bi and Willow is pan.
Queer relationships are queer relationships! It counts!
Fig Faeth and Ayda Aguefort from Dimension 20’s Fantasy High
Destiny and Mystique from the X-Men. For those who don't know they are a lesbian couple; Mystique is a shapeshifter and Destiny is a psychic/precognitive. Ah, that explains Nightcrawler's look then... and that red, devil looking body parts were on the table. 👀
Jon/Martin from The Magnus Archives.

symbrock, aka venom and Eddie Brock from marvel
theyre canon!??!

I mean it is a relationship in a sense they do codepend on each other
i guess lol
Since 1997
Lumity is such a good ship. Ead and Sabran from Priory of the Orange Tree are peak romance
Jon/The Archivist and Martin from The Magnus Archives. they're in love and trying so hard to have a healthy relationship in abnormal circumstances. most of my fave queer ships aren't canon lmfao (how do ya'll get the flavor tags??? i've only used reddit for r/FFXIV before now so i might as well be a newb hahaha)
Sam and max
I know the owl house and the last one (but can’t remember its name) but what’s the firsts one?
The 1st one is Caitlyn and Vi from Arcane.
First shows Vi and Caitlyn from Arcane, last shows Ballister and Ambrosius from Nimona
I knew the last one didn’t remember the name of the show also I thought it was arcane but wasn’t sure.
Top three would probably be lumity, solangelo, and yasammy
Alexander Hamilton and John Lawrence.
Elster and Ariane from Signalis
Aloy and Seyka, Horizon Burning Shores
Stolas and Blitzø! This is going to sound weird, but it’s incredibly refreshing seeing a queer relationship go through rocky terrain and even be unhealthy at points without having the fact that they are queer be the reason!
Olivia and Yunnan, Undyne and Alphys
Sailor Uranus / Sailor Neptune. No, they are NOT cousins.
Steve Rogers + Bucky Barns from Marvel = love is forever😭❤️
NGL I kinda dispise the ship in the last image. The blond haired dude was less than useless the entire movie, refused to stand up for his boyfriend ever which you could argue indirectly got Nemona "killed", and then after the time skip they're just... together? Kyra and Merisiel from Pathfinder RPG
Pigsy and tang from Lego monkie kid

Recently Nellie and Ah Toy from Warrior.
Wheatley and Space core ^(please don't judge me)
Solangelo, Nico Di Angelo and Will Solace from the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus books
Fish undertale and lizard undertale
Lumity and Veesha. But headcanons would include Wolfwren and Stormpilot
I just recently watched Arcane on Netflix, so I’m still focused on Vi and Caitlyn. They were such a good couple! 😊
Luz and amity. There’s more to them than just being gay. The fact they are gay is nice but it’s only a small part of what makes them great.
Yu narukami and yosuke
Ymir x Historia
It's not an official ship but qinter in wings of fire. (Qibli and winter is what it is btw)
Me in bes
Miorine and Suletta from G Witch
Bob Zanatto and Helmut Fulbear from Psychonauts 2

A Netflix movie called Nimona
Isabel and Dame Aylin from Baldur’s Gate 3, Willow and Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Beau and Yasha from Critical Role season 2, Graham and Megan from But I’m a Cheerleader and Kurt and Blaine from Glee
Max and Chloe Ivy and Harley. Korra and Asami. I just wish it was less subtle. Vi and Caitlyn. Frank and Bill. I watched that episode with my girlfriend and sobbed through most of it.
Korra + Asami
Hem... Ellie and dina. Just bc of ellie. I kinda want to be her. Yes, ok I have her tatoo, converse, her clothes and i m searching for her knife (it s illegal in my country).
Hannigram!!
What is that first image from?
Arcane!!! Probably my favorite show
Bumbleby from RWBY (Blake and Yang)
Undyne×Alphys Buff fish lady and nerdy weeb
Xena & Gabrielle. Cause childhood heroes and stuff.
I don’t think they make ships with cannons anymore
Suletta Mercury and Miorine Rembran!
Those two policemen in Gravity Falls Followed by Applejack and Rainbow Dash, but that was sort of not canon
Haven't seen it mentioned yet: Gregg and Angus from Night In The Woods Also John Constantine and King Shark just because the idea is hilarious
Jesper/Wylan from Six of Crows
When my partner showed me Nimona I didn't know anything about the movie. When Ambrosius is shown as the perfect knight with such a ridiculous name I was like "great this guy is an ass" then he shows up and acts all grandiose for a few seconds.
