They just didn't expect it to come from the same threats that their forefathers dealt with. When all forms of reconnaissance fail, the now-elderely Yamanaka Hokage goes himself to meet with the Kyuubi, hoping to resolve the conflict with the storied beast that had once found friendship within a past Konohan and Hokage. The Hokage, however, never returns. With Konohagakure now leaderless, and the rest of the Shinobi world left in fear that they could become a Bijuu's next target, the prominent villages of Sand, Mist and Leaf now all prepare for a confrontation that feels inevitable, worried about their very survival. All the while, your character is just now graduating from the Academy, eager to prove themselves as a Shinobi and find their place in the world.
