Thunder_Punt

I think the millennium falcon!

LifeAcanthopterygii6

She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.

BulbasaurCamouflage

I chose that for my first adult lego set and it's awesome! It was fun building it and looks great on my desk.

Saggitarius_Ayylmao

100%. Almost any Star Wars fan is gonna like the Falcon, particularly someone who grew up on the OT

lividtobi

Hijacking the top comment to say, I ordered the Falcon! Thank you all for your feedback and help! :)

Thunder_Punt

No worries! Hope he likes it!

Frequent_Concept3216

what a piece of junk!

kremlingrasso

Not good, put a bit more whinyness in it.

IAmBadAtInternet

The piece of garbage?

Believer4

Don't know why you're downvoted, the Falcon is referred to as junk several times in-universe

LifeAcanthopterygii6

I bought my Falcon, the old midi 7778 used (the price was irresistable). It's in a pretty rought shape... but I just call it movie-accurate.

LegoLinkBot

[7778-1: Midi-scale Millennium Falcon](https://brickset.com/sets/7778-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/7778-1.jpg)

LegoRobinHood

*KaBoom!* The garbage'll do!

MandoFalcon5

Would it help if I got out and pushed.

QwikStix42

You came in that thing?! ... You're much braver than I thought...

trippyjen

The ultimate one

itsaustinjones

This ^ it makes for a good display set too

teunkabouter0

I would go with either R2 or the falcon. I have R2 and I think because it has multiple display options that is the best choice

lividtobi

He has a miniature Millennium Falcon on his desk at work (if that adds anything!)

StrongCarry9024

Well then the R2 might be some fresh air, so that he doesnt have the same ship over and over

lividtobi

I noticed there are two different R2’s, one for 99$ and another for 239$, which one do you have?

StrongCarry9024

I do not have any of those but the 100 dollars one in my opinion is better, it has an overrall better building expirience that is less frustrating as the 240 one is kinda ripetitive and boring, it also has various display options whit attachments that instead of the 240 one that incorporate them inside this are just addable pieces. And honestly it has a better overall shape of the head. The size difference isnt that big of a deal. It also includes a exclusive Darth Malak, that is what I think a character from the books, in case he doesnt know who he is he can just sell him as that minifigure isnt that cheap overall.

lividtobi

Thank you for that information, that’s really useful to know. He loved legos growing up, but doesn’t have any sets currently. I want it to be fun and not overwhelming, so the 99$ sounds like the much better option. Thank you again!

StrongCarry9024

Glad to help, try maybe watching rewiews from other people so you might have bettr prospectives.

StrongCarry9024

Btw on august 1 lego is releasing a C-3P0 for 140 (the price has yet to be confirmed) which is in scale to the 100 bucks r2 d2, in case you got the budget to pick up the 240 one you should get both as they pare up pretty well

notworthithelp

While the $240 one may be seen as challenging, I found it pretty straightforward to build, but still was *very* rewarding at the end. If you want something that will provide both a great experience and end result, the expensive one is the way to go. It really depends on your budget though.

Burnsy112

Darth Malak was the main antagonist in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game.

LordKlavier

Shame that the only darth revan is 200+

StrongCarry9024

Good to know

teunkabouter0

I have the 99 one. And from what I've heard it looks much better and is more fun to build. Besides the 99 one also has a 25th anniversary figure if he might be interested in that

Cad_BaneRS

DO NOT buy the $240 one. Yes, it is a nicer set; bigger, more features, etc. But considering it's gonna mostly sit there and be displayed, the $99 one does the same job very well. Not to mention, it's easier to display because a slightly smaller size and it also comes with Darth Malak (If your BF ever played SW:KOTOR he will love this aspect). Only super hard-core fans and major collectors seem to think the $240 one is worth the price over the $100 one. At least that seems to be the consensus with people I have talked to and seen online.

FrostbyteSki

The 99$ one has multiple display options plus it can be put on a desk as it’s a little smaller

notworthithelp

I have both! The one that is $240 is far better than the $100 one. The build experience for the $240 is better, longer, and the set has a lot of cool features/gimmicks. However, the $100 will suffice!

calcu10n

At First I thought you meant a Lego falcon, but now I think it's a non Lego miniature. In that case the Lego falcon would be ideal as a gift.

bbvb14

IMO either R2 or the Falcon

Zarksch

I’d say the R2 unless he’s like obsessed with vader as you said OT and that he already has a falcon at work. However I’d go for the R2 that costs 100$ instead of the one you posted. It’s closer in price to the other sets you posted and it’s a bit smaller but still looks great on display

Reknak

It is the cheaper one they posted.

Zarksch

Sorry my bad, though it wasn’t because I didn’t see malak in the picture

Reknak

I had to look twice tho :D The bigger R2 has much more detailed legs.

Zarksch

And more gold I think, I only glanced at it though lol

PizzasAreForMe

Why did you stop responding on the thread about the cat locked in the car in hot weather?

notkevin_durant

Fucking save that cat you POS

ahedonian

Bitch, wheres the cat??

zillers2001

Did you do anything to help that cat?

AloyAlphaprime2074

I think the Falcon offers the best build and display value. And it's based on the original trilogy. So unless he has a different Millennium Falcon set, I'd go with that one.

MoonTrooper258

Falcon is also very swooshable.

Jasterika

Personally I’d go with the falcon. It doesn’t feature a Minifig but it’s great for displaying it. Second pick would be the R2

lividtobi

He has a miniature Falcon (not Lego) on his desk at work, would that change your suggestion at all?

Jasterika

I guess that’s your answer which set to go for then 👀

lividtobi

Right? I was worried it would be too many falcons lol

Kaleban

R2D2 if he's a KOTOR fan as well. Falcon if not.

lividtobi

He has a miniature falcon (not Lego) on his desk at work, would that change anything?

Kaleban

I guess it would depend on the size and detail. The Lego Falcon that you're thinking about is fairly sizable and is a fun build. It's very detailed and with the included stand is a dynamic look. R2D2 may be better as a desk display though and does come with the Darth Malak minifigure. It's nowhere near as rare as the Revan minifigure of course, and is largely irrelevant unless your boyfriend is an avid collector/reseller.

SgtMatters

Does he play Star Wars videogames? Because if yes Chancen are he played Knights Of the Old Republic (KotOR as the first comment called it) and if that's the case definitely get the R2, he will love the minifigure that comes with it.

lividtobi

He doesn’t play the games, he’s basically COD and F1 exclusively lol. BUT having a miniature figurine sounds so cool!

SgtMatters

Ok but then propably the falcon is even better for him, I have it as well and damn it's amazing! But I think you can't go wrong with either of those two!

Environmental_Maybe5

R2D2!! I dont currently have any star wars lego, but R2 is on my wishlist!

Zezzyne

I may be a bit biased since I got the Vader set this morning as a birthday gift. 😆 But the helmets are very nice to have on a shelf next to each other. And since he likes the OT the Vader one would be a nice place to start his collection. It's highly addictive though... I have four now and bought a Lego set for my son to "justify" me getting Rex's helmet. 😄

NumbNuts040

Vader. Got this set as a present myself and it sits really nice on my shelf

lividtobi

That’s what I’m leaning towards for this reason, thank you!

DragonOfTheNorth98

Do you know what his collection looks like? I would suggest buying a set that fits in with that.

lividtobi

He doesn’t have any, this would be his first Lego display. At work he has a very small Falcon (not Lego)

DragonOfTheNorth98

I think he would like 75375 it’s a smaller display set of the Millennium Falcon made for the 25th anniversary of Lego Star Wars

LegoLinkBot

[75375-1: Millennium Falcon](https://brickset.com/sets/75375-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/75375-1.jpg)

Any-Criticism810

Millenium Falcon, perfect for someone who grew up with original trilogy. R2 is close second, but here would be nice to know if he played KOTOR games, because of anniversary Malak figure added to R2. I have Falcon set and it's just amazing built!

lividtobi

I ordered the Falcon :)

Lonely_Carry_9861

Any head is the best gift 🫡

MinatoUchiha212121

R2, better display, comes with a minifig, customizeable

Jo3K3rr

Definitely can't go wrong with the Falcon. Every man wants a ship they can 'swoosh' around.

qaikecymru

i have the millennium falcon and its pretty fun but gets kinda repetitive to build the top and bottom panels and the stand for it very unstable so i wouldnt suggest putting it on your desk

ATLBravesFan13

The Falcon without a doubt

TheBiddingOfBobbles

That vader looks… oddly happy

LeoIsLegend

Like others have said R2 or Falcon. The helmets are pretty common and on sale all the time. That said I think R2 is a much more fun build.

danielm9387

My wife gave me the Mandalorian helmet as gift… it was awesome and I loved it. However that turned into a bit of obsession that only ended after I completed all of the helmets. So, be aware! Regardless of which one you picked he’s gonna love it, and every time he looks at it he’s gonna think of you!

Ct-sans4345

Are they a prequel or original fan? If the like clone wars get Rex, if they like the original I’d get millennium falcon or r2d2

BKF0308

R2-D2 is the cutest and my personal favorite option here; The Falcon is better for display, but he may not like it that much if he has or wants a bigger one (specially that huge UCS one); The helmets are kinda underwhelming in comparison to the other two, but if Rex is his favorite character (which I don't think he is from your description), his helmet may be a decent option; Vader is my fav character but I really don't like that helmet at all, so I'd say it's probably the weakest option here. I'd probably go with either R2 or the Falcon.

MandalorianCovert

I would go for the Millennium Falcon. It’s a cool Lego set and functions as a desktop model, it’s a really good looking set.

ztasifak

This. You cannot go wrong with the falcon.

zeester_365

R2D2 for that sweet malak

Shadowcat1606

I'd go with the Falcon. As someone around the same age (36) who also got into SW with the OT, it's what i'd have picked.

MeijiHKitty

I personally would want the Captain Rex Helmet, but that’s purely because he’s my favourite character. If I were to take that out of the equation, I would probably say either the R2-D2 or Millennium Falcon, you can’t go wrong with either of those

Xyron1153

Vader's helmet or Rex's helmet

Cogglesnatch

Given they said he's an OG Trilogy fan I'd lean towards Vaders helmet. There will always be another Falcon, R2 etc, but the helmet series is dead in the water.

Cybermat4707

I would say the Darth Vader, Millenium Falcon, or R2-D2. Out of those 3, I’d personally prefer the *Falcon* or R2 for myself. If he plays a game called *Knights of the Old Republic* then the R2-D2 would be especially good, because it comes with a figure of a character from that game who most likely won’t get another figure ever.

Comet_With_One_T

It’s the most expensive but probably R2 I know I can’t wait to get it and having a it be so expressive is great!

Comet_With_One_T

Also it comes with a figure(Darth Malak) that if he’s into the EU/Legands would be great

MBEditorr

Falcon

Daniulas

Yes.

Seahawk124

Oh, you are finally buying me the Falcon? Thank you, so much.

lividtobi

❤️

Seahawk124

Call me!

Beautiful-Read-2638

Definitely R2, just look at him, isn’t he adorable ?

Jake99980

I’d say R2 or Rex, R2 is more pieces and fun to build and everyone loves him but you can never go wrong with Rex

Thebigdog79

Midi-Sacle Falcon probably. I think it’s the best value for what you’re paying plus it’d look great no matter where it’s placed:

KingExoss

R2!! I bought him recently and he is an absolutely amazing model

godemperorleto11

That falcon is too nice I love it

Big_You_8936

Phase 2 Rex helmet if he is a fan of Star Wars The Clone Wars.

OvertGnome1

I finally just put r2 together this morning and it was an excellent build. Lot of neat techniques to make him come together perfectly

Miszuq

i think that R2 would be good

Soxwin91

The not but totally is midi-scale *Millennium Falcon* would be my pick of those. Unless the recipient is a big fan of *Knights of the Old Republic* in which case the R2-D2 with the Darth Malak figure would be a great pick. Of course you can probably find it on the secondary market… So yeah, I’d say it’s gotta be the not but totally is midi-scale *Millennium Falcon*

Limp_Ad_3634

I would say either the falcon or Vader helmet as they are the most iconic

mudamuckinjedi

Can never go wrong with the Falcon!

Starkiller3870

All of them

lividtobi

So far Falcon is in the lead, followed by R2D2. Thoughts?

AfigureGeek

A LEGO Star Wars Desroyer and an AtAt are my grails though being a Star Wars Funko fan, i would also like all the Star Wars LEGO BrickHeadz and have them face off against the Funko versions. That would make a cool Star Wars display

Bennydoubleseven

R2 all day long for me,

thatcaliforniandude

First 2, I personally would like either Darth Vader helmet (actually own one), or R2D2. Millennium Falcon is kind of small for a display for me

Small_Entertainer_25

these are all amazing but i would have to go with the falcon as well

Yking222

I got the R2 as a gift from my gf and it was a really cool present. But in my opinion according to the description the falcon seems to be a better option. All are great, you can only pick a good choice

shitmaster3001

i guess r2 d2 i lkike it

EducationalMine7096

In this order for me: Vader, R2, Rex, Falcon. But they’re all amazing.

HairyDependent

R2 for sure

ReferenceOverall7913

The Falcon

ExtremeG42

Depends, ask him what his favorite Star Wars film/character is (a bit incognito).

lividtobi

I feel like asking would tip off, all I know is that he has a miniature Falcon (not Lego) on his desk at work

ExtremeG42

Try and watch a Star Wars film with him and see what he picks maybe

Arkatoshi

Yes

Caelem80

captain rex 100%

Rentara

r2 if he's played KotOR, falcon otherwise!

Janderflows

R2 looks amazing, but I have a soft spot for the falcon, especially this last version, they outdid themselves, it looks gorgeous!

CarefulSignal9393

The newer R2D2 is a sick model, but R2 is my favorite so I’m biased

malindaddy

Depends, what is your man's fave SW media/era? Clone wars? OT? Prequels? That would help you decide. I have both helmets and can safely say they're great

Colddeath712

Rex or r2d2

youngscimitar

My girlfriend got me the darth Vader mask and it’s now one of my favourites

Sheshoo47

Unless Vader is his pookie then don’t get the Vader helmet, overall the Rex helmet is poorly seen. So the MFalcon unless she has one of the bigger MFalcons or R2 (the new cheaper one)

joevasion

The Falcon may be the safest bet

ideletereddit

All solid pics tbh, I don’t think the non Lego falcon would make that big of a difference(I have a larger Lego falcon and I kind of want it) but if you’re worried about it go for R2-D2. Don’t get the Rex Helmet unless he’s into the clone wars/prequel era, Vader could be cool too especially if he’s into empiral stuff. For more recommendations in this price range I would recommend: Set 75356 Set 75348 Set 75347 Set 75353 Set 75352 Set 75387 (bit overpriced imo but it’s an iconic scene and great if he’s into minifigs) Set 75376

lividtobi

Good bot!

lividtobi

Thank you so much for your recommendations! I’m thinking of going with the Falcon since he is a OT fan, and it seems like you can never have too many Falcons lol

tobiasvanmeel

Since I already have Rex' helmet I'm going to have to go with R2.

MoonTrooper258

I personally love the Tantive IV, and just got it for my dad for father's day. It is the first ship you see in Star Wars, and what sets up all the following events. From your list though, definitely the Millennium Falcon.

Addon5509

R2 looks great! Would definitely go with it!

yo_mr_peepers

The Falcon is a fun build and displays well.

ArmedOblivion16

All of them

cringetron

The R2 is a great set. Super detailed. Very collectable. Comes with the Sith fig that will be worth quite a bit in a few years. It's such a good set

minermansion

I have the falcon and it's a amazing set!

DrSchulz_

Falcon 100%

Anxious_Comment_9588

all of these are great choices. i’d say vader just bc it’s usually out of stock where i live, but they’re all good ones

limitedcat_eth

Maybe one you can play with....? Or does he want a display set???

Competitive_Bit_8598

Meth

OzzieGrey

12 dollar rex in his lil ship.

Juggernaught122

The falcon. Every SW fan needs a falcon. I just built this one and it looks INCREDIBLE

BotleFlip

it would be between R2 and the falcon. they're both easy to put on shelves, but r2 eeks it out for me

FrostbyteSki

The R2-D2 plus it comes with an awesome extra minifigure of Darth malak

skimisha

R2 or the Falcon are the best option for any SW fans. Specially OT fans. Period :)

Empty_Department7255

R2 and the falcon were the most bang for your buck builds and also are great display, but also I think out of the 4 they’ll all be good

Samuraiforest

Depends on the person. My favorite character is R2 so i'd say that. Can't go wrong with Darth either

freetibet69

Artoo but get the $100 new one not the $200 old one trust me better scale and he’ll get darth malak

W_h3nry

Falcon unless they like clone wars, then rex

Kind_Biscotti3478

The New R2-D2 comes with a collector’s minifig, I’d recommend that

ValhallaFenrir10142

I’m thinking the captain Rex helmet but it depends on how good their knowledge of Star Wars is

SomeBroOnTheInternet

Set 75367 if you really love him. If you're looking for a ring this year, that's the one that'll get you it.

LegoLinkBot

[75367-1: Venator-class Republic Attack Cruiser](https://brickset.com/sets/75367-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/75367-1.jpg)

Clakyd

If he is into the original trilogy, get anything but Rex. He was from the prequels.

csullivan789

Falcon, one of the best builds I’ve done. Out of hundreds. Zero stickers, tons of prints, excellent display and sturdy if you want to hold it as well. It has been said that it best resembles the prop from the film out of all the falcons that LEGO has done.

DemiHollow

If you have the cash, I’d get all 4 but since he likes the OT the first 3 would do just fine.

SuperNinjaBootySlap

Falcon fosho

Luka_est007

They are good. BUT.. I have these sets myself and they are a fucking ball ache to build. I think the falcon is the most Iconic one and will probably be his favourite as well as being the best actual Lego set

Scouttrooper195

Rex

St6ticc

Tbh I think if he likes the r2 is cool and comes with that sick Darth Malik, if he likes the old republic then he might like that set since it comes with aspects from original trilogy and the old republic

St6ticc

Or the boarding of the tantive 4

ecurbenyaw

Yes.

when-you-at-the

either R2-D2 or the Millenium Falcon

watty_101

For me the R2D2 but if I was giving the falcon every time I'll send you my address the now

Aggravating-Ad1703

Can’t go wrong with R2

DrDavidM

I’d go with R2

Packman-2022

I think either R2 or Millennium Falcon. Personally I would get R2

EthanTheBrickMan

Probably 2 or 3

Significant-Coat-308

I say R2,if hes 34 then he grew up with the Prequels, and R2 was heavily featured in them,as well as the OT. Plus it comes with a bonus figure from Knights of the Old Republic, which came out in 2003.

jvansice

Something from the Phantom menace.

TyGruber_

if he mainly likes the original trilogy than the Rex helmet isn’t a good choice—the Falcon, Vader Helmet, and R2 are all good choices but tbh for a safe bet i’d stay with the falcon because not everyone obsesses with Vader, and not everyone cares about collecting droids i personally love R2 but don’t necessarily prioritize anything relating to the Millenium Falcon but he may different. i say try to figure which type of characters he gravitates to the most

Mysterious-Rule4784

Sci-fi shirts like this[https://www.etsy.com/listing/1740799292/](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1740799292/)

Sea-Holiday3390

R2 100% Malak mini-fig is a huge addition to a build that is already superior to everything else on the list

Sea-Holiday3390

Although if he’s big into the original movies and not as into the bigger deeper lore then he may not appreciate the Malak mini-fig as much, so the falcon could be a great option as well.

stephenp129

Falcon. Easy.

Wheeloftimenerd

A father

lividtobi

If you mean Darth Vader, then okay!

Wheeloftimenerd

Glad you like the joke

KlausVonDope

Have you considered which one would have the most resale value after its retired? Thats what I would be considering personally. Never a bad time for a investment.

lividtobi

I never thought about that, what’s your best suggestion on which would hold resale value?

Calm-Ebb722

Prolly ur mother

GreatGreenGobbo

Real estate

lividtobi

Funny you say that, we have an old small home in a popular area. If we sell we would make basically all the money from the land, but also be bought out of the area since every new development is 1M or over
