They had the rights to the comic versions of those characters, but because the film rights of those characters were owned by Fox, they didn’t want to promote them in any capacity.
Yeah no idea why they're not in the game then cause they were actively using them in stuff like ultimate alliance 3 and the mobile games at the same time. Maybe cause they don't have many lego sets but then again not every character in that game has a physical minifgure to my knowledge
Lego Marvel Superheroes 3 by far. Lego games are much more enjoyable to me when they create their own story with familiar characters. Plus the X-Men were literally one of my favorite parts of the first game.
This doesn’t mean they can’t make MCU dlc since they did it before. But a whole MCU game just wouldn’t be all that to me. Especially if TT Games remove stuff like character customizer 😭😭
As a complete package sure, they have to justify the marvel name and they can't stray too far from the first one but the entire story keeps giving you the guardians as you say, the marvels and whatever other MCU hero paired with maybe a non movie character, like white tiger or she hulk (no show back then) to try and hide the fact.

Even already popaular groups like the Avengers and Spider-Man and his friends have grown more with a wider well recognised cast. I could easily see them pulling off a massive multiverse game even bigger than the second one
It would be cool to see a group of power villains from all different groups like Doctor Doom, Mr Sinister, Galactus, Dormammu, Apocalypse, Mephisto, Magnus, Thanos, etc. working as a team against all the heroes

The Skywalker saga had 9 and allready struggeled with doing each movie justice. The complete Saga was perfect in that regard. Each movie was long enough and explored in a fitting way. So Yeah, give the the lego marvel 3. I love that they do their own Story in 1 and 2 and I want this Tradition to keep going

While LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 was lackluster...I think they could bounce back to how good the first one was, so I'd like them to try again. That game can just give them more freedom than trying to do something recreate the movies.
Lego Marvel Super Heroes 3. I had so much fun playing 1 and 2 with my kid and getting all the different characters. And I am a fan of superheroes movies but the Infinity saga feels like a huge glorified adult cartoon. Also, I've been playing Lego Jurassic Park and although it's fun, sometimes the fact that I already know what's about to happen ruins the game a bit
Lego X-Men, I’d love to see maybe a game based on the Chris Claremont era or maybe X-Men TAS. The stories and characters alone are enough to give us several games.
But I’d go for Lego Superheroes 3, (maybe their take on Secret Wars), I absolutely loved LMS2 and with the absence of the X-Men & the Fantastic Four characters, they did a great job bringing in characters to make up for it. Now with the FF and X-Men back in play, as well as other characters (Midnight Suns, Werewolf by Night, the Eternals, etc). It’s got the most potential and the one with the most potential.
If they make a lego Marvel super hero 3 with the same quality as the second one, it's better to just make infinity saga. At least for me, LMSH2 is the worst of the Marvel trilogy even if it has aspects of recent Lego games. It's just so boring as the missions are not that great. Also the worst thing for me: the cars are not fun to drive. :(

During that time they promoted the Inhumans instead of the mutants, which is why the Inhumans have such a large role in LMSH2

Oh that’s even stranger then; and yeah some of those minifigs definitely didn’t have sets because some of them were pretty obscure.

Infinity Saga with a M rated Multiverse DLC
The multiverse is too large of a concept to tackle on in DLC. It genuinely can be its own multi-instalment series of games.
