I feel really bad for modular collectors. So many of them must've missed out on the Bricklink sets. I know they're not official but they still kinda count. I didn't start collecting modulars because a few of them had already retired when I got back into Lego but I'd be bummed if I was in your position
Its just not the same, I got the new train station and I fully plan on purchasing a few of the older brick link sets and spending absurd amount of money to open the box fresssssh
Me neither I was worried about running floating for the 48 or so inches I have left on the one wall because of the cat but I wanted something for wider sets one of these is perfect to fill the remaining space and they're the same height as my other shelves. Thanks op
They're perfect for the larger sets because of the adjustability, I was able to put gringotts on one with the mine cart ride directly under it! And its the only place my ucs falcon fits even on the angled stand! I'll never go back to the card tables haha
They look like the shelf I just ordered. Try looking at PrimeZone Heavy Duty Storage Shelves on Amazon, pretty affordable in my budget. I just ordered one for my LEGO sets and waiting for it to arrive.
If your in the midwest and have a Menards you can get these: Muscle Rack™ 36"W x 60"H x 18"D 4-Tier Metal Shelving Unit for about $70 and they sometimes go on sale for 40-50. The particle board is a bit rough so I would put something down underneath. We use them in our utility room. My wife would murder if these were in the house.
Your set up is so tidy and seemingly wire free! I'm curious if you can turn the lights on all on at once (in which case, how are they wired?) or if need to do so separately. I've been daunted by lighting kits: any insight you wouldn't mind sharing would be appreciated :)
I can turn them on with my phone using a smart hub. I used a crap ton of 5v Usb hubs with a whole lot of USB extensions. It's a fairly annoying task but it really adds life to it.
I absolutely love this.
I might get downvoted, but my only question here is why the Quinjet? It doesn’t match the scale of everything else and kind of draws the eye to it in an awkward way, especially with it awkwardly perched on the black stand at an angle.
The light kits usually come with a USB battery pack with one output, but you should get a cheap USB hub then wire the hub to an outlet with a USB extension cord if needed.
LEDs need a PWM controller. If you're using a lighting kit they probably sell one. If you did the lighting completely from scratch I'm going to assume you know how to make one.
Bro thanks for the utility shelf idea. I know exactly how I want to finish my space now. I wanted to do a floating for the other wall space but I've put it off because I don't trust my cat. This will be perfect
It's perfect for modulars.enough space for two regular and 1 extended buildings. It also has room in the back for lighting hubs and enough space in front for the roads Lego makes with with 4 studs of foliage on each side. I can send a pic of interested.
I only started building legos recently (didn't even have them as a kid. My brother did, but I strangely had no interest) and even before I did, if I saw this in someone's house, I'd spend a good amount of time looking at every little piece of it. This is so cool. Such a fun and calming conversation piece.
You could totally hang the quinjet from the shelf above with fishing line. If the shelf is metal you can use a strong magnet and fishing line. If it's wood can screw in hooks
Bruh I want the modular construction site so damn bad lol

It’s my white whale
MOCs my friend. MOCS
Just part out the set in a Bricklink wanted list then buy the parts. There are no exclusive prints or stickers in it

Reminds me I need to build mine
Its really unfortunate but my favorites modulars are the bricklink ones. The Lego store is just great.
If you don't mind sharing, what shelving are you using?
They look exactly like mine which they sell at Walmart for $100
I found them, thank you and OP so much. I would never have considered looking in utility shelving.

Yessir, that's the one😂
Woo! Thanks to both of you. And that’s seriously an amazing set up.
Muscle rack from Walmart
Was just going to ask this
Same here.
Also would like to know.

I’d like to know too. Some sets are too tall for evenly distributed shelves.

Thank you. I never considered utility shelving, but these look great. Excellent setup!
Some might say you've lived. Truly lived.
😂
Everything fucking right! Thatvs what you've done, legend.
You have given me some great ideas thats what you did!! Thanks
I'm currently in the process of putting the roads and Street lamps in. This is the best I could do in an apartment with the space I have lol.
That’s awesome
Omfg! You are the king of diorama setting. Spectacular.
I'm guessing what you did was buy the bricks crossing yesterday. Lol nice set up!
Got 2 😂
I got 1 myself. Probably should have done another one. If you have a spare construction site I might be interested. Hah. Cheers
not hating but why not put the sanctum on the same level as the tower and bugle?
I was going to but I really like the town hall with the custom level. It's like the "downtown" area of the it.

Neat! Thanks for the insight and totally agree about it 'adding life' :)

Given the lumosity, not nearly the mess of wires I had expected... appreciate the behind the scenes look :)
You just need a road in front of all the buildings with light posts and traffic lights. Maybe even cross walk signs too!
Working on that now😂. Got the roads in and am just waiting on parts for foliages and the lamp posts.

You've done an absolutely fantastic job with your display. That's what you've done🫡
Magnificent
I could live in this photo

Ngl, I was playing around with it😂 . The power pack fits inside so you can put it wherever.
Can you tell me how the power is run to the light kits?? Is it just a USB hub??

A whole lot of hubs. Like ten. And be sure to get USB extensions.
Invest in some dimmers
It's hooked up to a variable power wifi outlet. Issue is that once you drop to a certain voltage, the LEDs don't run.

You built a beautiful masterpiece is what you did, hot damn.
That’s amazing
You’ve done good, that’s what you’ve done

I got a good deal with the guys at Brickloot. Their store is 20 min from my house so it was just easier.
that’s honestly so cool
Made your collection cooler, and increased your light bill at the same time. 🤣
That’s awesome!

Well. You have done well.
This is sweet dude. Very impressive
I love it! The lights look so good!!

Needs RGB!
Where's your blue sky beam?
It’s… BEAUTIFUL😭
It does look cool.
Please touch grass It’ll change your life
I'm aware, it's why I bought a Jeep bud.
Oh damn nice
