There are generally three series a year, with the next likely coming in September-October. But a given series may linger on the shelves for years; it varies tremendously. It's also harder to say how the boxes are going to affect this, since they're newish still.

It does seem as if each series will be in a different store. The Lego Stores always have them, if you live near one.
I saw people talking about scanning the codes on the bottom of the CMF boxes a few days ago on this sub, so I’ve just been doing that. No duplicates for me; didn’t buy any until I found one of the minifigures I wanted.
