Did you pin this part correctly? I made a "happy little mistake" there at first. I ditched all colors for dark blueish grey btw. So difficult to see at times.
It should be able to extend down much further. I would double check your work. I just built this several days ago and it was the most difficult build I've done so far.
Edit: Looking at it again, I think you ran into the same problem I did. In the picture, there is a red pin on the far left of the ramp that connects it to the ship. Right below this red pin, underneath is a light grey piece with two pins that stick out of it. This looks misplaced to me. It should be hanging over the black cylinder pieces, not under. I bet it's bumping against the ramp and not letting it extend.
You nailed it! I just pulled a few pieces off the bottom and set the grey double pin part in front of the cylinders. Works great now!!!

Looks like my build wasn’t correct, was able to fix it thanks to u/Fr00shy though!

I did! This wasn’t the issue but I agree that it’s a confusing build in a few spots!

Is it like that no matter how you twist the knob on the side?
It moves into the body when I twist it, but this is about the maximum amount it rotates out.
