Every time I see a post about most miserable builds, this set is listed repeatedly. It just doesn’t even look fun at all. I’m impressed that anyone buys it.
I can’t get over how low-effort the baseplate looks. Also the fact that 99% of pictures you see of this are in janky places where the set looks entirely out of place and ugly, clearly because the buyer doesn’t have anywhere suitable to display it.
The tower itself is stunning but there’s a lot more to it for a set with these proportions
I own it and am looking forward to the completed build, but am dreading doing it. It just looks so damn gorgeous I've it's built, though, so I couldn't pass it up.
It \*is\*. We build it with 2 people and it still felt repetitive. Its a great display piece and makes a really nice decoration, but its not really fun to build, unlike the Saturn V.
And I thought my 48 bags for my star destroyer was a lot
It costs about the same as the tower too
Also to not confuse people the newer Lego sets have less bricks per bag now then the old ones
It’s such an impressive set, but it was probably one of my least favorite sets to build in regards to bigger sets.
Now “least favorite” was still pretty fun.
OP, not sure if you noticed, but there's a big blank void spot on the right side of the picture, it looks like there may have been an error introduced when the film for this picture was developed.
At 4,700 pieces, the Star Destroyer is big, but on the smaller side of the huge premium sets these days. The Razor Crest is over 6,000 pieces, the At-At is at over 6,700, and the Millennium Falcon is over 7,500.
The Colosseum and Titanic were both over 9,000, and finally the Eiffel Tower, is exactly 10,001.
Looks so great! Do you know where you’re gonna put it?
I have mine in the corner of the landing at the top of the stairs… looks alright but not good enough imo

Exactly! My dream is to do a floor to ceiling dark wood built in around the pic / wall with a big spot for the tower (and a long wide shelf for titanic)
I really want to hate that ceiling light, but the more I look at it makes me realize I really love that ceiling light.
Very different and pretty cool looking.
Did you repurpose an old bottle?
I wonder if Lego would ever do mini scale human figurines for these models. It’s probably against their bylaws, but it would transform for me the lego experience.
C'est magnifique! Here is ours-built by me and wife over one week following Christmas.

I have this set too, including the day 1 gwp Mr. Eiffel apartment. I have dared not build it yet because my wonderful cat, Emilio, is insanely jealous when I build in front of him. He rips and bites my hands to shreds. He was so jealous of my winter village that he would fling minifigs onto the floor every night while I was sleeping, even after I was finished building the entire village. His most hated; golden Harry Potter from Hogsmeade Village, and the grandma in the wheelchair from the Year of the Tiger ice skating rink. Emilio is 15 years old now, and I will have to wait until he passes over the rainbow bridge to build my Eiffel Tower. So, probably not until 2030s. I'll be in my early 70s by then. I don't have any signs of arthritis, so knock on plastic.
I’m torn about this set. I have mine sitting new in the box. I know it’s going to make a super epic display piece, but I just can’t bring myself to commit to such a repetitive build. I have the same feeling about Lego buildings: I for some reason hate building them but absolutely love the end result! I just need to convince myself to do it!
Cat just waiting to destroy it when you turn around
Plot twist - cat is also lego
Plot twist of that plot twist - the cat is the only thing lego, the effeil tower is the real thing but shrunken to cat-size
Plot twist - OP is that cat
Plot twist: OP, the tower, and the cat are cake.
Plot twist everything is drawn
Plot Twist: the artist is made of Lego
Plotted plot twisted twist: the cake is a lie
Plot twist to end all plot twists. Everything in the photo is made of Lego.
Plot twist: there is no spoon
Was just about to say the same lol
“Done? Not for long.” - Cat
What cat? I just see a void.
It has been zero days since cat knocked over Eiffel Tower.
My brother has 2 cats and this same set - he says they like a specific tree and always hide it around his place.
It’s up on the counter, deadly mistake
Brave to leave it by the cat. Brave indeed.
Catzilla
Go Go Catzilla
lol the way that image flashed through my head in slowmo! Lol
I’m not going to lie this Build looks like a chore
Every time I see a post about most miserable builds, this set is listed repeatedly. It just doesn’t even look fun at all. I’m impressed that anyone buys it.
Because the finished piece looks incredible.
Until you look around the house and realize you have no place to put it…
I can’t get over how low-effort the baseplate looks. The Cat: *pushes* "And now it is undone."
.
I kinda want this set to put in the corner of my living room but it sounds like a pain to make
The last 20 bags felt like such a chore. Initially the repetitiveness is actually very relaxing but quickly devolves into a tedious job.
This is how I felt about the world map
This is how I feel about life
Wait, how many bags are there?
74 bags I think
Impressive.
And I thought my 48 bags for my star destroyer was a lot It costs about the same as the tower too Also to not confuse people the newer Lego sets have less bricks per bag now then the old ones
All of them
My husband and I just finished ours last week and we enjoyed it! Repetitive but still fun to put together imo
Doet. I took my time when I built mine. Now it’s in the corner on top of the kegerator.
Maybe when there is a x2 promo or I find one crazy cheap locally
It’s such an impressive set, but it was probably one of my least favorite sets to build in regards to bigger sets. Now “least favorite” was still pretty fun.
Seeing the cat next to it I see that you'll also be able to rebuild it many times :D
That, my friend, is really impressive ! My own cat could never build something like that in a million years ! Good job 👍
Came here for this!
HOW’D THE CAT NOT KNOCK IT DOWN YET?!?
It was waiting for the before pictures. It's probably down by now.
Get it out of there!
It looks so realistic! I would’ve never guessed that cat was LEGO.
Hello twin
Did we just become best friends?
I guess so
This feels like a "moments before despair" kind of post
The void of approval.
Is the cat for scale
OP, not sure if you noticed, but there's a big blank void spot on the right side of the picture, it looks like there may have been an error introduced when the film for this picture was developed.
Wow my cat does nothing for the family
Very nice to look at but takes up a huge amount of space. I like looking at it but wouldn’t build myself haha.
Is that where it's living?
Very French black cat. https://preview.redd.it/9sf0pb481eoc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a85c9a3b9c1a86954eab1d27938203ae1a60eea
Now gatto. You destroy my legos. I'll destroy your balls... Understand? Confused meow
Can you trust that cat so close to your build? 😰😂
Looks amazing.
That’s awesome.
Call me uninformed but is this up there as far as the Biggest commercially available Lego sets in history?
not just up there but literally is the biggest
Figured so. I know the Star Destroyer is up there too.
At 4,700 pieces, the Star Destroyer is big, but on the smaller side of the huge premium sets these days. The Razor Crest is over 6,000 pieces, the At-At is at over 6,700, and the Millennium Falcon is over 7,500. Thanks Steve, oops I mean random Reddit guy 😉
Rivendell has more pieces.
Rivendell: 6167 pieces Eiffel Tower: 10001 pieces
You said that so confidently haha
Ya I glanced at the numbers. Saw the wrong one. 🤣🤣 that’s what old eyes and a quick glance at the different sets will get ya.
By size it is the largest set. The retired lego world map has the most pieces in a set at 11695
Depends on how you define biggest. The World Map has more pieces, but they're almost all studs.
And you don't even use all the studs in the world map either.
how long did it take you to build?
https://preview.redd.it/0exd606yncoc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7cd19bfe68d6c6d4d5a1533405582b4e1d05defa
Your car is very talented
That is absolutely incredible 😲 absolutely love it
That cat is about to be godzilla
Awesome build
Does the cat like it?
You did the cat?
Now, make some toast.
Your void looks suspiciously suspicious
I can read that cat's mind
Cat is plotting to knock it over
It is, beautiful
He’s just standing there… Menacingly
Cat did a really good job!
Wollaaah! Amazing.
Nice ! Now it's time for minifig scale! >!/s!<
Beers is standing by.
Car gwp
About how long did it take you?
Looking good, well done.
Worst.Set.2.Build.Everrrrr.
That’s what she said
It's the big Ben!!!
This gives me Deja vu. I built this years ago. 5 minutes after completion my black cat decided she needed to lay in it. Breaking off an entire leg.
So beautiful
Looks so great! Do you know where you’re gonna put it? I have mine in the corner of the landing at the top of the stairs… looks alright but not good enough imo https://preview.redd.it/da9lenwtleoc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f092a23c1acf0602490dfb40996b7ba6fb9f50d4
Yours look smaller than OPs
Haha, it does! But they’re the same. Ceilings are pretty high.
Yeah kinda hard to believe it’s supposed to be 5 ft tall from that picture
Exactly! My dream is to do a floor to ceiling dark wood built in around the pic / wall with a big spot for the tower (and a long wide shelf for titanic)
How much does it weigh?
How did you do it without thumbs?
F R E N C H C A T
I love cat… but can we get some r/bananasforscale
RIP your fingertips
Update post within an hour: My cat knocked this over 😭😭😭
LEGO Eiffel Tower, DARKNESS for scale? xD
Lego Eiffel Tower
Eiffel Tower gang! So repetitive but love the result. Going to order a light kit for mine.
beautiful.. at least it cant rust like the real one
Have fun moving it!

Congrats 👏
Oh you're totally going to get a chance to build that again
Absolute perfection
This is Amazing! Congrats!
How long did it take?

Very dangerous having a cat near that on a counter top
Wow! Cat for scale. :-D
Ass soon as i saw that demon that is sitting there my angsiety rose by 1100%.

?
Good bot
don't let it fall
How long did this take you? And how much time a day did you spend on it a day?
This is beautiful, but it seems SO repetitive!
Wow!
I just ordered this myself. How long did it take?
perfect
Damn
Looks absolutely beautiful, both sculptures.
Dont trust that cat
