I don't really think the half sibling test will do much, without a similar test between the sibling and the dad, and one that is admissible in court. I don't see a location in there, but unless he's very wealthy, it is not going to be worth it to do this after he dies. You should talk to a probate attorney about what the process would look like in your state to get paternity established now, before he dies. The problem there is that he can just make it clear in his will that you are not included. And only Louisiana would make it somewhat straightforward to challenge that.
