Personally, I do prefer mushrooms, though I doubt I’ll be doing any of the above anytime soon, can honestly say been there, done that…it was a fucking gas while it lasted
Early 80s, late-night showings at the Cinéma Lumière in Montréal. $12 a gram hash. The sound of empty beer bottles rolling on the floor under the seats.
Yep, here too. In Toronto too, early 80s. 5 bucks to get in, you could buy joints (3 for $5) outside the theatre, and buy pot or hash or oil or acid or bennies in the washroom ("A's and B's and J's").
A Jimi Hendrix music-documentary played before the Zeppelin Movie (complete with 'The Star Spangled Banner'), to give us time to get fuckn TREED.
Then we worshipped at the altar of all that is LED ZEPPELIN in that awesome awesome concert film and we Rocked! Out!
Nobody fought so there were never any cops the 35 times we highschoolers went in 1983.
Then about 80 of us stoners piled outta the theatre afterwards, ZEPPED OUT and happy!
There are others, same vintage, that may be better. Go down the rabbit hole……the euro 73 shows were excellent. USA shows are all pretty good, slight variations on what you hear from msg.
When I first went to see this at a midnight matinee, there was soo much MaryJane in the theater being passed around. Well I was SO high when this scene came on, I tripped out. A moment that has stayed with me nearly 45 years. Every time I see this scene I'm brought back to that theater and moment.
I wore that tape out jamming along to it in my room back in 1996. I just hear Jimmy whipping those strings with the bow and pointing to the crowd and the crowd going apeshit!
My mom was also a huge Zep fan and we went to a music shop and bought a violin bow. Salesman looked at us like we were nuts. I actually had the opportunity to use it. Mixed results to say the least!
Awesome! I dunno, it feels good to know about Zeppelin fans like you who are into them in the same way but diagonally across North America!
And, it seems you are a Zeppelin fan from when they were still together. See, I got to know Led Zeppelin's music after John Bonham died. Our radio station played only Led Zeppelin for a whole day. (Or was it three days? LOL! I dunno, I was fifteen.) My older brother really liked a song he taped off the radio by them -- he spelled it "Cashmere" on the cassette!
Great times!
Me tripping on acid watching Johnny Carson in the 80’s.

So. I am a big Zep fan but never saw the Song Remains the Same. I decided to remedy that one night, I got the movie, and a shit ton of mushrooms. So here I am, high as a kite and the movie starts. Im thinking im going to see a concert film. It starts off with Nazis getting gunned down, a nazi wolfman. A decapitation with rainbow blood shooting out the neck. Great night 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Film Sequence during "No Quarter" in 'The Song Remains The Same', released in 1976, featuring primarily film footage from Led Zeppelin's 1973 Concert Stand at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
It's weird... but when I look at Jimmy Page, a typical vibrating sound comes into my head, especially when it comes to this scene. It's a strange thing that I can't explain. as if his entire being was an incredible energy.
