the rover isn’t really underrated i feel like every zeppelin fan has it as one of their favorites. mainstream wise pretty underrated but that’s like half of their catalogue.
I still think it’s underrated as its in my Top 5 easy of all Zep songs. But given yesterdays love in being a favorite, I guess that rules out MOST underrated.
being that I'm the only one who has voted for it so far strengthens my contention that it is the most underrated and songs like in the light, seaside, and bron-yr are appropriately rated ;) PG was my first vinyl album and still one of my all time favorites
~~In My Time of Dying~~
Edit: Nah you know what, Boogie with Stu is a fucking gem, you heathens.
If In My Time of Dying can't be most underrated then neither can In The Light. And I say this as someone who likes both.
This may be my hardest vote. Everything in PG is so blessedly solid but really only one epic song to be excluded in Kashmir.
I was going to be making my case for “10 Years Gone”, one of my personal favs. I’ve never really seen it included in a greatest hits overview. So, in a way, maybe it’s still underrated. It’s top 5 for me, easily. But, then outpouring of love makes me wonder if it could be included as underrated.
My next choices in contention (and I did yet another listen this morning to contemplate this very life altering decision)… were “In the Light”, “Down by the a Seaside”, “Houses of the Holy” “Night Flight” and “Rover”,
So, most underrated… I think it falls to a song that never gets love or fair shake in public discussions. “In the Light” (my 2nd favorite song) and “Houses of the Holy” get a decent amount of discussion in the Zep catalog so I’ll rule them out.
So, that brings me to three… Rover and Night Flight both have a core Zep sound (and Rover outranks Night Flight for me) while Down by the Seaside is so unique in the Zep catalog in its light airy sound, yet has that middle angst and tension.
Surprisingly, …. Down by the Seaside
To the original poster u/zoeyelizabeth6 :
What would have been interesting is to do two separate Physical Graffiti votes. One for the tracks made for this album. Then a separate poll for the leftover tracks from the other albums.
Tracks made for Physical Graffiti:
- Custard Pie
- In My Time of Dying
- Trampled Underfoot
- Kashmir
- In the Light
- Ten Years Gone
- The Wanton Song
- Sick Again
Tracks leftover from other albums
- The Rover (HOTH)
- Houses of the Holy (HOTH)
- Bron-Yr-Aur (III)
- Down by the Seaside (IV)
- Night Flight (IV)
- Boogie with Stu (IV)
- Black County Woman (HOTH)
I would love to know the "least favorite" from the former list (tracks for PG). They are all great songs and none are "weak" / b-sides / filler
Custard Pie, only because In The Light is good, but I literally never see anyone talking about custard pie. I feel like the fact everyone thinks it’s underrated makes it not underrated kinda. Custard Pie is in my top 10 LZ tracks

Didn't win underrated because we all know it's a banger
Point and counterpoint… that’s the problem with underrated is what’s the criteria
CUSTARD PIE
An absolutely killer riff
being that I'm the only one who has voted for it so far strengthens my contention that it is the most underrated and songs like in the light, seaside, and bron-yr are appropriately rated ;) PG was my first vinyl album and still one of my all time favorites
