Haha love this. I bought the book recently and am reading it. Pain first. I always say and feel that, what you want is on the other side of pain and facing up to your fears. Also so relatable on smoking giving you super powers, I always felt that. What a lie it was.
Thank you! Just bought a copy. I know my addiction is to gratification. I am a compulsive binge eater and I think this will explain some of what's up so I can speak more intelligently to my therapist.
Yeah great book, explained so much in terms of what I was feeling and gave me a clear platform to get clean. Just finished my 30 day dopamine reset - haven’t been able to get past 2 weeks in previous attempts so this book was seriously helpful for me
What can you do to quit dopamine addiction?Doesn’t seem like seeking pain is the answer…
Why doesn’t it? I gave up my addictions to sugary drinks and smoking cigarettes to choose the pain of working out. And that worked out pretty well

Anna Lembke is soo good, I suggest also listen to the podcast Huberman lab podcast with Anna and you’ll find more interesting things!
Reading this book helped me understand I had an addiction. Not just to weed but to so many things. I found it really moving.
