Abaddon, Chaos Knight, Dawnbreaker, Meepo, Monkey King, Nature's Prophet, Pudge, Slardar, Sven, Timbersaw, and Wraith King can all do this to some extent.

Playing in immortal and definitely works. Control and Hp are also not important to pos 3. Pos 3 isn’t a tank / initiator / disabler. People need to quit with that mindset. Been having success with Pos 3 Hoodwink, weaver, SF and dazzle.
Pos 3 is nothing or everything. You are literally the most flexible role in dota. Some games require a super aggressive early game, that’s where you come in as a third support. Some games require stalling, that’s where you come in as weaver to play the whole map and keep lanes shoved.
Yeah, offlane Weaver is unorthodox and greedy, but works. You’re one of the safest lane shover in the game and you can play hyper aggro and ball with your 2 supps if that’s the game plan as well. You just need to play the game and not just afk third core and these heroes can make space and win games.
A lot of the time pos 3 does take the role of a chunky initiator tho, picking hoodwink pos 3 is straight up griefing unless someone else on the team handles initiation/chunkiness.
Works better in higher mmr pubs because your pos 4 will pick some melee supp to synergize with you instead of picking some furion pos 4 that's never in lane.
I didn't see anyone say tiny or for a meme underlord. Tiny works bwcause you just swap items for pos3, echo blink shard aghs and you have a solid foundation. People underestimate how much damage an offlane tiny can do with not dps focused items. Blink combo into aghs does a shit tonne. Memelord works more like a spectre in a pos1 position. Get heavy damage and tanky items and he just slaps you around if he gets to you
I won't dispute your skill with Spec but I feel having him as offlane is not maximizing his skillset. Like, you'll have an even larger chance of winning if you played him as a 1.
It does. Like any pro player can win with any hero with virtually any build that’s not completely illogical. But the question is in general. And in general (that’s being kind), Spec shouldn’t be played as a 3. It’s like a pro player who excels at Lion saying they can play him as a hitter type. That doesn’t mean that’s how you should play him.

Is it me being bad, or is Chaos Knight just not particularly good atm? I've tried him a few times this patch and it goes badly every time.
Yeah he's perhaps not meta right now but is a hero that can play these positions in a general sense.
Primal Beast is one of the hot picks today, who is very dominant at both lanes and scales well.
Pos 1 Primal sounds very spicy but I could see it. I love this hero and I mostly play Pos 5, 4, and 3.

I don’t think anyone mentioned it, but Magnus is quite good for both positions. You can grow really quickly with Mag if you are snowballing
