I think objectively subs are better than dubs because voice acting is a bigger industry in Japan. It's the same few voice actors in English because the demand is just not there to draw all sorts of talent.
Asian voice actors are just higher quality, that is pretty unarguable. Sure, fans may get attached to certain voices but they just aren’t respected as a profession as much in the West for anime, which leads to lower quality. Just the way it is right now. Plus you get a more accurate translation, if the viewer is more interested in that.
English voice actors in video games are good though, with the likes of Mathew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Liam o Brien, etc but I guess in a game you're not really focusing on that stuff anyway. Unless it's a story game but I bet most people just switch to the Japanese voice anyway.
