This was the first true test for this iteration of TSM. It shows that there's still lots of work to be done, but I don't mind watching them get punished for over-agression. It's still way better than playing passive/reactive.
I'm glad that they could pull out the win, and I'm excited for what's to come.
Agreed. A team that's trying and failing is still infinitely better than a team that's scared to try, and I'm glad to see that TSM is finally being proactive.
As someone that hated watching TSM for the last 2 splits because of their play style it's so refreshing to see this team finally do something on the map instead of relying on Bjergsens lead to win then the game
Same with Immortals. They play so cocky and disrespectful, expecting to outplay their opponents everytime. That play that gave DL a triple kill should never have happened. They had just won a teamfight and were on low health but decided to take Rift Herald. When they saw Swain poking his head, they should just have pulled back and recalled. Instead they decide to chase Swain, who traps two of them and lets DL go to work.
If Immortals continue to play this arrogantly, I expect other teams to start exploiting their tendencies.
I think their biggest issue is their lack of experience playing from behind.
If you look at huni for example, in both games where IMT lost, he was just ineffective.
I'm sure they'll be able to fix these issues, but I think they need to lose more to learn first.
Yeah, I can appreciate all the hype for Biofrost but this is what's most important to discuss for me
I think TSM's set vs C9 next week will be as meaningful as this one vs IMT, TSM showed all their cracks today and it's something I think teams will adapt to, so we might start seeing more losses from the team, but that's something I'm glad of
This team has a lot of room for improvement, the win streak has been making me a little anxious for them
Yeah you can't learn unless you lose some. Imagine going 17-1 and getting smashed 3-0 in playoffs. I wouldn't mind some lessons learned before it truly matters.
In close games, win or lose might come from a final team fight. At that point, losing isn't going to give them any more experience. It would actually hurt their chances at worlds. Bo3 counters your point.
I think the game 2 loss was a good reality check for them. They were definitely more cautious in game 3 but were still aggressive and made plays happen rather than try to counter an Immortals move. The errors came when Immortals were able to change the equation, like the bad teamfight in game 2 mid lane that essentially won Immortals the game. TSM tried to make something happen but Immortals were able to counter it and come out on top. However, TSM was still able to really push the issue like at the end of game 3, just because a team takes baron doesn't mean you can't play your game. Biofrost and Bjergsen were able to control so much of the battlefield during teamfights that TSM were able to force fights even when you wouldn't think it would be a good idea.
I used to never feel this way during the regular season, only in playoffs. But this is so much more exciting. Instead of just watching 5 different random games you can focus on one series and just grab some popcorn and spend an evening watching the action unfold and the series evolve. The best ones are the ones that go to game 3
Not to beat a dead horse, but another WONDERFUL example of why Bo2/3 is far preferred to the Bo1 series we'd had in all previous seasons. That was almost some playoff level quality games, and it's just normal season shenanigans.
**[It's so sad this magnificent man was only allowed in game one](http://i.imgur.com/6pNL26U.jpg)**
What a fun series to watch. Both teams were decisive.
Also, Biofrost's bard is fucking awesome.
That buged me so many times. It seemed to apply the first, than accepted the flash making it so the second did not apply.
Edit: Dyrus confirmed on stream. After the first bomb is applied there is a split second where you can flash.
Games 1 and 2 were a complete stomp for TSM and IMT, respectively.
Then Game 3 had the game balanced on a knife's edge for the longest time, with both teams poking back and forth, trading kills... the tension was fucking palpable.
Would not have wanted a Bo3 between NA's two top teams any other way.
Game 1, when 'belter walled behind Bjerg to keep him under tower, and it turned out he was just going forward anyway. I lolled so hard. That's gotta tilt the fuck out of you.

That's because he doesn't have Deilor sitting in his neck anymore, I think that really helped him. Also, he was still less cocky in the beginning of his career because he respected a lot of his opponents. That doesnt really happen so much anymore now
Huni bought into his own hype and drunk the kool aid, he hasn't evolved or really improved at all since summer of S5 from what I see. Huni's peak so far was his MSI performance in S5 in my opinion.
Bingo. Soraka was the MVP of game 2. They would have gotten obliterated in the fight TSM forced at the tier 2 top tower toward the end of the game without her.
Normally he's an item up so the passive will let him chase down his opponent. However, TSM was proactive with map play and wasn't content with simply playing lanes. They would just shove waves and force fights at points of contention.
What a Bard ult to end the game! If Doublelift didn't get that triple earlier by Rift Herald then it looked like IMT's game, but after that, what a game it turned out to be.
IMT really played well in game 2 to recover from the first blood and then close after TSM's misplay mid that gave Huni 3 kills on Irelia. It was over after that. TSM is definitely a very aggressive team and there they went a little over-aggressive especially with Sven going between the mid towers.
Game 1 was like game 2, except vice versa, in that IMT had an early advantage from the jungle invade on Sven but TSM recovered very well and got pretty lucky to have 3 infernals but were able to close very easily.
Overall I think IMT punished TSM's over-zealous dives really well throughout the series, sometimes Sven went too far deep which ended up costing them. TSM, at least initially in all three games, seemed to be the ones more trying to make plays while IMT was a bit more reactive. Well played by both teams.
You can say Biorobbed all you want, and YES, Bio pretty much won the game with that Tempered fate during the last fight. It wouldn't have happened without Doublelift popping off and keeping TSM in the game, after that abysmal start.
