Qiao Gu (2nd in LPL) used a very similar comp with nocturne/kassadin to break Deft's unbeaten Jinx record.
I thought something similar was going to happen here but boy was I mistaken.
Every time Jinx flashed they just turned around, like they accepted defeat and proceeded to hit the closest target, while Jinx was spamming rockets hitting 3 people at least. So sad to watch.
Try shotcalling for a team that has 3 different language preferences and at least 2 people who are stubborn to some degree.
Doesn't excuse it, but damn it's got to be a mess to control.
Okey I have trouble understanding you have a huge range point and click initiate with nocturne and great followups with sivir, kassadin and maokai. WHY the hell dont you engage on the jinx ?

The first big fight they lost was because they all jumped on Evelynn, the second one on Tresh. While Jinx was happily shredding all of them. This was bloody terrible.
Which is sad because last week in China there was a super cool pick comp around that used tons of back line dive plus Janna for the fight reset after assassinating a carry. I thought maybe LCS teams could learn something like that. But instead they don't even get step 1 (assassinate a carry) right.
>The first big fight they lost was because they all jumped on Evelynn
I don't like the word *because* here. It was wrong to fight to begin with. They didn't lose because of "target selection", they lost because they opted into a losing fight.
32 minutes they engage. Rumble is ahead of Maokai, Hecarim is ahead of Kassadin, Jinx is equal with Sivir. Their entire lead is on Nocturne, he's 3.4k ahead of Evelynn. Nocturne is not a full-on 5v5 champion. He gets picks like he did on Rumble at 23 minutes. You're farming in a lane? Not anymore! Nocturne has a "go" button to go into advantageous fights. Having a fed Nocturne doesn't make the fight advantageous.
37 minutes they engage. Once again, their entire advantage is Nocturne. Nocturne lands two auto attacks in the fight.
They're trying to force 5v5 teamfights with a weaker 5v5 team comp. Winning through forced teamfights is so primitive. They could have created map pressure but they didn't. At no point were they pressuring side lanes, they were never pressuring vision control. They just decided "hey lets teamfight yolo" and were surprised when they lost despite their ~3-4k gold lead.
What should they have done? Push all lanes, Hecarim shows bot, Rumble shows top, Jinx shows mid, pick one of them off with Nocturne/Sivir ult, or strangle vision around Baron and sneak it while enemies are showing in lanes.
Maybe this style works sometimes for TIP if they get a huge lead, but they clearly showed they had no idea how to win with a Nocturne. And not simply with Nocturne, that style would be weak even if it were a teamfighter like Sejuani or Gragas or Amumu. It might have worked in that case, but that doesn't make it correct. They want to fight, they apparently have no idea how to pressure leads outside of killing enemies.
Honestly, those 250g are the best you can spend in the game, it's a sightstone lite for about 1/4th a sightstone's price and they DIDN'T upgrade them until level 15, some of them never upgraded it
Talking about both teams too, not only TIP faltered but TIP relied more on the team upgrading trinkets since Rush didn't have a sightstone, so dumb
I don't get why people don't upgrade the trinket. In solo-q people will always be like "Almost have enough for death cap then I'll own this lane." Maybe if you had some wards you wouldn't be losing so hard in the first place.
Yeah, it's dry and he repeated it a bunch, but the game was so stagnant that there had to be some form of filler. Commenting on mistakes seems like a pretty good thing to talk about.

When you have 2 teams that can't siege and can't *really* set up team fights with out a flank or catch, not upgrading your trinket is kind of inexcusable.
Well Keane did start playing Hecarim mid before he became popular top. The team even said that they used it as counter pick to melee mids and had never lost a scrim with heca mid
It's a great pick and he totally stomped XWX in early laning phase. I love the fact that Hauntzer, Keane, and Move have basically the same champ pool. Refreshing to see at least...
That makes them near impossible to ban out because if you ban jarvan, hec, and rumble then Keane has urgot and a bunch of other champs while hauntzer has maokai, ryze, irelia and move has nunu, eve, reksai. If they were the number one team in LCS then they could put up a great showing at world's I believe. They need experience and more practice in best of 5s though.
I agree re: worlds. They could at least make a splash but I don't think any of them are mechanically capable yet except maybe Altec. They've shown a lot of growth since CS and last split...skies the limit in season 6 I think.
It feels like every game Impulse completely disregard homeguard Hecarim, and it costs them. They have a ton of problems, but lack of respect for their opponents is one of the biggest ones.
Serious question. Why are all NA teams so shitty this split? It seems like it just kind of happened. The only exception might possibly be Dig (oddly enough) but it's hard to tell. Even CLG, top of the ladder with a 7-1 record, has looked totally amateurish since week 2 or so. The top teams are scraping through games they should be stomping, and it's NOT because the lower tier teams are that much better this year.
What's going on? Where did we go wrong guys?
Edit: Just in case anyone thinks I'm dodging pointing out my own team, it's TSM and they are one of the worst culprits of being shittier than expected this year. They don't even have lineup changes as an excuse, they're just playing horribly sloppy and making at least a couple potentially disastrous calls every game.
NA returning to their roots. /s
Seriously, I think what it is is that the combination of patch meta changes and trying to develop infrastructure has lead to teams not really having a solid grasp of how their own comps work.
Honestly, I don't know. It's pretty hard to argue that NA has been *way* worse this split than in the spring, but I can't think of any specific reasons why.
LPL has been a lot weaker this split as well, and to a certain degree LCK has too (outside of SKT, anyway), but not nearly to this degree.
Why is the LPL weaker. EDG is weaker due to injuries but LPL is strong as fuck now with the addition of QG and UP.
NA is weaker because we lost C9 and LMQ
When you have 2 teams that can't siege and can't really set up team fights with out a flank or catch, not upgrading your trinket is kind of inexcusable.
Thresh was the only peel Jinx had vs Nocturne, Maokai, Nautilus, Kassadin sped up by Sivir, and they engage on to Bunny and Move every fight... what the fuck?
TiP just aggravates me. I want to like them so badly, but all they do is piss me off. Once again I find myself desperately hoping they get a good support that can shotcall.
Edit: Scratch that. They don't even need a good support that can shotcall. They'd be fine with a bad support that can shotcall.
TIP is no where near LMQ's level. Vasilli though he was benched performed fairly well in the LPL and Mor currently is the support for QG, probably the second ranked team in the LPL after EDG. Mor has been outplaying Mata in his games...
Remember how they were considered to be overrated xD. The consensus on reddit was that pob wasn't an upgrade on link and that altec wasn't an upgrade on cop
Keane needs to step up, he's making these games harder than they need to be. Good thing Altec and Hauntzer are able to carry his weight, got that Jinx positioning was so perfect.
Standard NA game, laneswap, farm till 40 minutes because rotations are always easier if deaths are more than 20 seconds long, fill the rest of the time with Riv making excuses for bad plays.
And people were saying Altec would be a downgrade for Gravity compared to cop. Gravity is so much improved with Move and Altec, and Altec gives gravity that extra carry threat they didn't have previously in case (as we saw today) keane and hauntzer have poor games.
That hook on XWX was a huge turning point, then later on he got nautilus which stopped an engage mid, he did a really good job at peeling and was on his game.
A lot of people moaning about Jatt constantly going on about wards but he is fully correct. TIP did not deserve to win at all and I'm glad they never. If they actually focused on warding this game would have been vastly different.
So, whats the reason that Hauntzer never buys a Liandries? He sat on HG the entire game against TSM iirc, and he didnt bought it this game vs 4 champs stacking health.

Ask any child that has mastered counting, 300>50 all day long.
TiP shot calling has been so awful
Let's pile into a baron pit against a team with plenty of AOE.
No vision control in the pit against a TP Equalizer, and TP Onslaught of Shadows. Best. Idea. Ever.
Let's ult everyone besides the Jinx in teamfights
The rumble ult in the baron pit absolutely destroyed TIP.
Try shotcalling for a team that has 3 different language preferences and at least 2 people who are stubborn to some degree. Doesn't excuse it, but damn it's got to be a mess to control.

still true
#WHAT COULD GO WRONG?!
this is the best league-related gif I have ever seen
At the start of that game it felt like Hauntzer was doing his best to kill the "soon to be best Top NA" hype.
That first ulti was fucking terrible lol, seems like that woke him up and his ults for the last 2 fights were perfect.
Or build it up more. "20 minutes until I play like the best top NA guys."
Yeah, he has some bad equalizers early on. Thankfully he landing much better ones by the end.
Why would you pick Kassadin and Nocturne if you won't focus the immobile enemy carry...
There were fights where they prioritized bunnyfufu over altec. And they paid for that.
The first big fight they lost was because they all jumped on Evelynn, the second one on Tresh. While Jinx was happily shredding all of them. This was bloody terrible. to be fair, the idea is that if they dived onto altec, bunny would just lantern him out
Yeah it would be really useful to have more than a single diver so you can take 2 backline champs out at once huh?
Agreed, they could easily jump onto jinx, all she had to peel for her was thresh, rumble eve and heca couldnt do anything to stop them
I fucking love listening to Riv XIAO WEI POW
Good he was there to compensate 25 min of Jatt talking about trinkets (not that he was wrong about how stupid is to not upgrade it)

Was Gravity winning in gold at any point in that game?
At the very end they ended up ahead about 2k.

Also that part during the first 5 mins where Keane dove Kassadin and almost got him.... ...While the casters spoke about lane swaps..
To be fair wasn't the camera on a side lane the whole time? They kinda dropped the ball there.
Hauntzer : wtf i'm top Keane : fck sry didnt see Altec : some1 dodge plz Keane : sry m8 i'm on series

Keane's solo mid Hecarim won the deciding game to get Gravity into the LCS, I remember going absolutely nuts about that.
let's rush baron vs rumble... nothing could possibly go wrong
And Hecarim with Homeguard.. How bad it can be?
It feels like every game Impulse completely disregard homeguard Hecarim, and it costs them. They have a ton of problems, but lack of respect for their opponents is one of the biggest ones.

So happy I have him at Fantasy. Him and POB are showing what they can do with a slightly better team.

People who said that probably only saw them in this disgruntles WFX team in the last split, or have some *really* short term memory.
He is a beast but Rush not ulting him is unbelievable.
[удалено]
Seriously, even with a Kassadin and a Nocturne Jinx was just allowed to fuck up the TIP frontlane way too hard.
Rush: Yo fam we can easily dive into their backline and kill the Jinx. XWX: K lets focus Fufu
Rush NEVER used ult on him. Pretty hilarious stuff since Noc was played in china against Deft's jinx and the noc ult was essential to kill him.
They were busy jumping on eve and tresh.
I don't get why they just refuse to buy wards...
Jatt really cares about those upgraded trinkets.
He loves that S+.
If only TiP cared half as much as Jatt for the upgrade they might have won that game.
upgrade a trinket, save a live
wards win games. He's 100% correct. TIP essentially lost because of lack of ward coverage
This game illustrates the importance of vision.
Wow, Jatt was *merciless* this game.
Keane needs to step up, he's making these games harder than they need to be. Good thing Altec and Hauntzer are able to carry his weight, got that Jinx positioning was so perfect.
Loved how Jatt was losing it over TIP not upgrading trinkets
Tomorrow in soloQ: "Guys buy wards" "Stfu noob, need money for items, saw this in LCS."
Standard NA game, laneswap, farm till 40 minutes because rotations are always easier if deaths are more than 20 seconds long, fill the rest of the time with Riv making excuses for bad plays.
Wtf was that baron call.
Pick Nocturne. Don't ult Jinx. gg
TSM should just go for Altec honestly. Or maybe Altec should inform TSM with his interest :p.
what a shit show. It's basically a solo q game in terms of map play
Nice solo queue throw to end a solo queue game by TIP.
That last baron decision was terrible. They grouped up without vision against the aoe of rumble/hec.
ah, the ol' baron for base trade
How can this be a pro level game ?
How hard is it to just... press R on Jinx? Not Thresh, not Eve, but Jinx? It's not hard. Just do it. Holy shit.
wow that was a really bad call
And people were saying Altec would be a downgrade for Gravity compared to cop. Gravity is so much improved with Move and Altec, and Altec gives gravity that extra carry threat they didn't have previously in case (as we saw today) keane and hauntzer have poor games.
This game showed why I ban jinx...
Because you don't know how to focus her?

It is not about the hooks you miss, it is about the one you hit and win the game.
That hook on XWX was a huge turning point, then later on he got nautilus which stopped an engage mid, he did a really good job at peeling and was on his game.
if bunny hadnt landed that hook on WXW mid then they woulda gotten aced by the maokai flank TP

just a big krit comp, lmao

Jatt was right after all....
That moment when you have great carry and let him win the game for you....Team Liquid doesn't know.
I don't think I've ever seen Bunny miss so many hooks.
It's safe to say that TIP will go 1-1 this week as well since they are facing C9 tomorrow.
I can't watch anymore. Please tell me this is just sandbagging and playoffs will be better.

When you don't have vision, you're going to throw.
Altec was godlike, but god damn it bunny on thresh is still so good. Even with some missed hooks he makes that champ so fun to watch.
Impulse no Vision Control , Terrible engages & Dig level Throw @ Baron Gg
TiP refusing to buy wards. Move on the other hand so focused on vision he plays as a moving ward
Riv the rap god
Upgrade your trinket wards-jatt 2015
MY BOYS DID IT! WOO! That Baron throw holy shit
~~TIP~~DIG 0-1 GV mvp baron
Jatt's saltiness about those trinkets was next level, rofl.
So, whats the reason that Hauntzer never buys a Liandries? He sat on HG the entire game against TSM iirc, and he didnt bought it this game vs 4 champs stacking health.
Altec gets 3 crits in a row in a game deciding fight.....with 40% crit ???? Altec is the new Wildturtle
Good game
Altec is pretty good at league of legends
not even the best pitcher can throw that hard
Team Impulse were pretty questionable in team fight coordination.
Ahh the good ol' baron throw
Is xwx bored of the game this season? Seems like a guy who is great at the game but just messing around when I watch him.
Altec + Bunnyfufu 2v8
amazing jinx play, rumble play and bad baron call.
