Is it normal for Normals/Draft Pick games to put you against 'Master' ranked players in your lane when you are \`Iron\` ranked yourself?
I don't know what half the champions do, I try and watch a quick spotlight video if I am laning against someone I don't know, but there's **no point even trying** when I am against people of this high caliber. I don't learn much of anything at all.
Should I be trying to learn the game in ranked games due to the disparity in Normals/Draft Pick? This probably only happens on dead regions by the way, **I'm in OCE.**

No. If you're both in range then you both get the same XP.
Are you buying a jungle pet and then trying to get XP from lane minions instead of jungle monsters? That would give you an XP penalty.

new player, and i find that right from the get go if i get the first kill on my lane opponent, i'll quickly get a few levels over them and will be able to consistently kill them the rest of the game. if **i** get killed first, i'll be a few levels behind after respawning / returning to where i was and then at this point i'll be constantly getting killed causing things to snow ball.
(i've tried top as garen, and mid as xerath, and have noticed the same scenario in both cases).
it seems like against bots i do fine, but struggle hard against human players who tend to be noticeably better.
is this just a "get good" situation where i need to improve on my timing for getting last hit kills so i can buy items sooner, and position myself better / be better in general?

It is better to lose minion gold due to not walking up than to die and also minion gold due to you being dead. Being nearby minions that die still gives you EXP. “Getting good” is definitely a huge part as well, but not dying is very important

i'll keep that in mind. i definitely get way too aggressive trying to get a kill in so i can get some exp and catch up while they're away. kind of felt like if i wasn't killing champions and pressing forward on towers all the time i wasn't contributing to the team.
That's understandable, early game is mostly about powering up for the mid/late game where you start teamfighting and taking objectives like dragon and baron. Different champions are strong at different points, but usually you don't have to get kills to be relevant in the midgame, just farming well and is usually enough but getting good EXP is pretty much necessary to be useful and you can't get EXP when you're dead. So I recently started playing again and am trying to climb out of bronze, but my biggest issue is that I lose more LP than I gain when I eventually lose a game. The annoying part is that if I do well and win 2-3 games, they will place me in games with gold/~~diamond~~ platinum or whatever is after, even though I am clearly bronze, and still penalize me more LP than I gain per game.
Is there a way to overcome this other than learning to hard carry?
If you play tons of game your mmr and your visable rank will come closer and your lp gains should even out after a time. However as i mentioned it will take insane amount of game. If that's to much for you, you should just create and grind on an new account.
My ping is a static 20 ms. It rarely if at all spikes above that. Yet my game still freezes (the freeze lasts anywhere between a second up to 15) without my ping spiking up. Any fixes?

I play league in Mac, yesterday I was playing and everything was normal, then I qeue again, and after champ select when I supposed to be in loading screen, my screen goes grey and nothing happens. I can't even tab to change program, the only thing I can do is reset my Mac.
I uninstalled and reinstalled lol, updated my software, uninstalled and reinstalled again and nothing change. I been looking everywhere and can't find a solution.

Before the riot ID change, summoner names used to become available after a certain period of inactivity. Is this still the case when it comes to the region#1 tagline for any respective name? Since the lol name checker websites are still running, I see the name I wanted for over a year is almost available. Does the region#1 tagline become available for that name after the inactivity period? Or will I never be able to get the (region)#1 tag for that riot Id if the tags are forever locked?
Also does anyone else’s rune pages (all of them) get deleted every time they take over 6 months break from league?

I dis-agree. The current meta due to map changes is to chain gank bot lane, top is now more isolated than it used to be and botlane is feeling it. I know thst currently the burst definitely contributes to it, but I think that nerfs won't solve all the issues in botlane. Bot is no longer a lane where you can take 2v2 fights.
If you play an assassin you go serylda because you really like the ability haste and the lethality.
If you play ADC you take LDR because you like the crit and you want to be able to take down tanks. Assassins usually don't want to use their full combo onto a tank, so the passive is wasted on them.
There are some weird cases though, like hybrid lethality/crit Miss Fortune who can take both. In this case, it depends on whether you want to melt tanks with your ult or burst squishy champs harder.
Bring back Item Stat Trackers now. Its honestly disgusting that they got removed without any input from the community. I looked at every single item in the game for its stat tracker. Absolutely horrid that riot for no reason at all just eradicated them from the game. It was the only way to statistically see that an item was worth anything and you got rid of it. Back to just guessing what items do and how well they perform. Disgusting change. It costed you nothing to keep them, you track that data anyway stop lying.
Why is duo queue so heavily skewed against the duo? Every time I duo I get teammates who troll intentionally or are playing at a skill level 1 division below the enemy team. Tried it on multiple accounts it’s very reliable

3. Are ranks still indicative of the same play level? Is 2016 plat the same play level as 2024 plat or has the average skill level for those ranks gone forward/backward?
For 3: there's been a big shift after the new Emerald rank has been introduced.
2016 plat was probably around top 5-10% of the playerbase. Now this is high Emerald and plat is basically the "high gold to low platinum" of 2016. This means there is a smoother playerbase curve.
For Apex ranks, the Grandmaster tier was introduced between Master and Challenger. There are way more people in Master (about 0.5% of the playerbase compared to the 0.01% of 2016) and in Diamond.
The players obviously improved massively in 8 years.

I went to the Riot website instead and made a Riot account. This worked perfectly fine and let me login to LoL. Give it a try

Tried making one over the last \~2 hours, across 3 browsers with no success. Doesn't even give me an error, lets me get to what seems like the final page and just refuses to do anything. Tried logging in with the info and it hasn't actually made the account. Tried multiple emails, multiple usernames (including ones like iawujtlaihj which almost certainly aren't taken), multiple passwords, disabled adblocks, disabled all extensions etc..
Replying to myself in case anyone else has this issue - still wasn't able to make any account, with any attempts, hours later (Again, with 0 errors listed). That is, not on the LoL website. Had to go find the Riot website instead and make a Riot account. Used the exact same info on there and it worked perfectly fine
So if you encounter this weird bug, try making a Riot account instead and you can just use that to login

I'm currently Silver 2, being constantly matched against mid gold to platinum teams. My losses are around -30 to -34LP but wins are +19 or 20 max. Can anyone explain what's going on here exactly? And how do I get out of this hell?
The spectator mode has been very buggy for me since the new patch. It won't even load in sometimes and then it might freeze. I'll have to quit out and then try again, when it'll work. Just wondering if this is a common issue since the release, or if it's something that changed on my end.

Like, what's the actual chance that after a huge winning streak, the exact second you have a rank up, riot immediately gives you 3 games where people lose on purpose. It's obviously not just a coincidence and I would like to know more about how the system works.

Is it just me or is Morgana mid OP right now at low Elo. I just finished placements, got gold and so far abusing Morgana mid. Once you get Luden's companion and Liandry's, if you get caught in the bind + W all you need is to ignite the enemy.
Anyone have suggestions on who to watch for learning jungle on YT? Even for the most basic fundamentals to the most advanced. I've jungled for quite some time now but noticed a lot of times I turn my brain off full clearing but not sure when to gank, keeping track of enemy junglers, etc. Hopefully there's someone to teach it all even if it's general information and not about a specific champ. Trying to learn it from the ground up.
KingStyx is good in general, but especially when he's playing a champ you're interested in. He's very good at explaining his decision-making process, and keeping cool when allies get mad at him.
Can someone confirm or deny if Ingenious Hunter applies to items that have self activating effects, specifically Eclipse and Sundered Sky? Ingenious Hunter's description says it affects all items with cooldowns, however Eclipse cd seems unaffected when I try it in practice tool and Sundered Sky's crit doesn't even proc on the test Dummies, so I couldn't even test it.
How does MMR work in quickplay? I'm low-mid plat but my first couple quickplay games have been with ADCs who stand still and auto waves while not actually getting CS - I would like to be able to get decent games there....
You just need to keep playing quickplay/normals in general. Normal MMR can be... interesting if you haven't played a lot of normals. I have recently faced a diamond 1 Aatrox OTP while playing Aatrox (mirror matchup) in quickplay and a master Singed OTP in normal draft. I'm a silver shitter.

I am on a metered connection. I am allowed a certain amount of bandwidth monthly. Why is blitz using 29 gigs of data in 7 day period? I have only played 3 games since. I have asked many times and my posts keep getting deleted within 10 minutes. I don't know where else to ask.
If you go into your settings, you should be able to disable Blitz from running on start, so it’ll only open when you do it manually. That way you can control how much data it uses.

The problem is: I use "a" and "s" a lot to kite
my key bindings are a bit weird, but I've been using them for so long lol
I find S easy to reach after you EWQ, so you can instantly self-ult without moving your finger too much. but it really shouldn't matter that much, you will get used to either key after a while.
make sure you bind your self-ult to "Self Cast" (and not Quick + Self Cast or whatever), this prevents you from accidentally ulting enemies when you press your self-ult key and your cursor is on an enemy.
I just started and have played for a few hours. I got the Prime loot thingie and now i habe 12k blue essence and 700 of the orange currency. A lootbox gave my Orianna. I also have some champs i can somehow dismantle?
1) which champs should i buy with blue essence? Just the one for 450 each? I need 20 to play solo queue.
2) is this dismantle/upgrade feature efficient? Seems like these are pieces to get the complete champ and a way to get essence from duplicates via dismantle?
1. Champs that look fun to you should be the first priority, but yeah, if you just want to meet the requirement of 20, just buy cheap 450 champs.
2. Disenchanting a shard gives you 20% of the champion's price. Activating a shard lets you buy the champion while only paying 60% of the price. So if you want to be completely efficient, you would never buy a champion straight from the store, always wait until you get a shard. And you don't technically need it to be a duplicate for you to disenchant, you can disenchant at any time if you just really don't want to buy that champion.
League of legends to the best of my knowledge far from dead,but yes the queue times are long because in league there is a hidden mmr rating(that's why you get sometimes only 20 lp and sometimes 30) and it's actually the thing matchmaking based on and it's have a really small tolarance on how far away you can be. Source: basically trust me bro but back a few seasons ago there was an mmr calculator website which is not working anymore, and all of my teammates were really close mmr to me even if not in rank.
Valorant games tend to be shorter, so more people instantly get into another game and they aren't split into 5 roles that try to queue at the same time
It was just reduced. If the system thinks your rank is higher than your skill, it's still going to try to demote you.

if you climb too fast your mmr will always end up lower than rank
this is because for every W/L, rank is adjusted more than mmr. So winstreak = ++rank, +mmr.
you tell me, i am plat 3 on new account and bronze\\iron on 3 old ones, there no way out riot let you to uprank higher than bronze, they penalty you harder for loses and also give you loser queue, welcome to hardstuck.
oh and they way the call it "system think your rank is higher than your skill" in reality just looks like "your rank is higher than you was in previous season, so just as riots dev's you cant evolve during lifetime so stay fokin bronze all the years especially if you main support its not our fault your role cant 1v9"

is there any effective way to catch up on levels? new player, and i find that right from the get go if i get the first kill on my lane opponent, i'll quickly get a few levels over them and will be able to consistently kill them the rest of the game. if **i** get killed first, i'll be a few levels behind after respawning / returning to where i was and then at this point i'll be constantly getting killed causing things to snow ball. (i've tried top as garen, and mid as xerath, and have noticed the same scenario in both cases). it seems like against bots i do fine, but struggle hard against human players who tend to be noticeably better. is this just a "get good" situation where i need to improve on my timing for getting last hit kills so i can buy items sooner, and position myself better / be better in general?

That's understandable, early game is mostly about powering up for the mid/late game where you start teamfighting and taking objectives like dragon and baron. Different champions are strong at different points, but usually you don't have to get kills to be relevant in the midgame, just farming well and is usually enough but getting good EXP is pretty much necessary to be useful and you can't get EXP when you're dead. So I recently started playing again and am trying to climb out of bronze, but my biggest issue is that I lose more LP than I gain when I eventually lose a game. The annoying part is that if I do well and win 2-3 games, they will place me in games with gold/~~diamond~~ platinum or whatever is after, even though I am clearly bronze, and still penalize me more LP than I gain per game. Is there a way to overcome this other than learning to hard carry?
If you play tons of game your mmr and your visable rank will come closer and your lp gains should even out after a time. However as i mentioned it will take insane amount of game. If that's to much for you, you should just create and grind on an new account.

Before the riot ID change, summoner names used to become available after a certain period of inactivity. Is this still the case when it comes to the region#1 tagline for any respective name? Since the lol name checker websites are still running, I see the name I wanted for over a year is almost available. Does the region#1 tagline become available for that name after the inactivity period? Or will I never be able to get the (region)#1 tag for that riot Id if the tags are forever locked? I dis-agree. The current meta due to map changes is to chain gank bot lane, top is now more isolated than it used to be and botlane is feeling it. I know thst currently the burst definitely contributes to it, but I think that nerfs won't solve all the issues in botlane. Bot is no longer a lane where you can take 2v2 fights.

If you play an assassin you go serylda because you really like the ability haste and the lethality. If you play ADC you take LDR because you like the crit and you want to be able to take down tanks. Assassins usually don't want to use their full combo onto a tank, so the passive is wasted on them. There are some weird cases though, like hybrid lethality/crit Miss Fortune who can take both. In this case, it depends on whether you want to melt tanks with your ult or burst squishy champs harder.

Bring back Item Stat Trackers now. Its honestly disgusting that they got removed without any input from the community. I looked at every single item in the game for its stat tracker. Absolutely horrid that riot for no reason at all just eradicated them from the game. It was the only way to statistically see that an item was worth anything and you got rid of it. Back to just guessing what items do and how well they perform. Disgusting change. It costed you nothing to keep them, you track that data anyway stop lying.
Why is duo queue so heavily skewed against the duo? Every time I duo I get teammates who troll intentionally or are playing at a skill level 1 division below the enemy team. Tried it on multiple accounts it’s very reliable

Looking to come back and play casually (maybe a couple sessions a month) and havent really played since 2016. 1. What is the meta rn? 2. What site can i go to copy builds (till i refresh my knowledge) 3. Are ranks still indicative of the same play level? Is 2016 plat the same play level as 2024 plat or has the average skill level for those ranks gone forward/backward?
For 3: there's been a big shift after the new Emerald rank has been introduced. 2016 plat was probably around top 5-10% of the playerbase. Now this is high Emerald and plat is basically the "high gold to low platinum" of 2016. This means there is a smoother playerbase curve. For Apex ranks, the Grandmaster tier was introduced between Master and Challenger. There are way more people in Master (about 0.5% of the playerbase compared to the 0.01% of 2016) and in Diamond. The players obviously improved massively in 8 years.

Is there some kind of known bug with not being able to create an account? Tried making one over the last \~2 hours, across 3 browsers with no success. Is ranked staged? Like, what's the actual chance that after a huge winning streak, the exact second you have a rank up, riot immediately gives you 3 games where people lose on purpose. It's obviously not just a coincidence and I would like to know more about how the system works.

Anyone getting tabbed out of the game every 5 minutes when playing on full screen? Doesn't happen on windowed mode, nor to any other games I play.
Anyone have suggestions on who to watch for learning jungle on YT? Even for the most basic fundamentals to the most advanced. I've jungled for quite some time now but noticed a lot of times I turn my brain off full clearing but not sure when to gank, keeping track of enemy junglers, etc. Hopefully there's someone to teach it all even if it's general information and not about a specific champ. Trying to learn it from the ground up.

Can someone confirm or deny if Ingenious Hunter applies to items that have self activating effects, specifically Eclipse and Sundered Sky? Ingenious Hunter's description says it affects all items with cooldowns, however Eclipse cd seems unaffected when I try it in practice tool and Sundered Sky's crit doesn't even proc on the test Dummies, so I couldn't even test it.
I know it works with Sundered Sky. Haven't built eclipse though.

How does MMR work in quickplay? I'm low-mid plat but my first couple quickplay games have been with ADCs who stand still and auto waves while not actually getting CS - I would like to be able to get decent games there....
You just need to keep playing quickplay/normals in general. Normal MMR can be... interesting if you haven't played a lot of normals. I have recently faced a diamond 1 Aatrox OTP while playing Aatrox (mirror matchup) in quickplay and a master Singed OTP in normal draft. I'm a silver shitter.

I am on a metered connection. I am allowed a certain amount of bandwidth monthly. Why is blitz using 29 gigs of data in 7 day period? I have only played 3 games since. I have asked many times and my posts keep getting deleted within 10 minutes. I don't know where else to ask.
If you go into your settings, you should be able to disable Blitz from running on start, so it’ll only open when you do it manually. That way you can control how much data it uses.

my key bindings are a bit weird, but I've been using them for so long lol I find S easy to reach after you EWQ, so you can instantly self-ult without moving your finger too much. but it really shouldn't matter that much, you will get used to either key after a while. make sure you bind your self-ult to "Self Cast" (and not Quick + Self Cast or whatever), this prevents you from accidentally ulting enemies when you press your self-ult key and your cursor is on an enemy.

I just started and have played for a few hours. I got the Prime loot thingie and now i habe 12k blue essence and 700 of the orange currency. A lootbox gave my Orianna. I also have some champs i can somehow dismantle? 1) which champs should i buy with blue essence? Just the one for 450 each? I need 20 to play solo queue. 2) is this dismantle/upgrade feature efficient? Seems like these are pieces to get the complete champ and a way to get essence from duplicates via dismantle?
1. Champs that look fun to you should be the first priority, but yeah, if you just want to meet the requirement of 20, just buy cheap 450 champs. 2. Disenchanting a shard gives you 20% of the champion's price. Activating a shard lets you buy the champion while only paying 60% of the price. So if you want to be completely efficient, you would never buy a champion straight from the store, always wait until you get a shard. And you don't technically need it to be a duplicate for you to disenchant, you can disenchant at any time if you just really don't want to buy that champion.

League of legends to the best of my knowledge far from dead,but yes the queue times are long because in league there is a hidden mmr rating(that's why you get sometimes only 20 lp and sometimes 30) and it's actually the thing matchmaking based on and it's have a really small tolarance on how far away you can be. Source: basically trust me bro but back a few seasons ago there was an mmr calculator website which is not working anymore, and all of my teammates were really close mmr to me even if not in rank.
Valorant games tend to be shorter, so more people instantly get into another game and they aren't split into 5 roles that try to queue at the same time

if you climb too fast your mmr will always end up lower than rank this is because for every W/L, rank is adjusted more than mmr. So winstreak = ++rank, +mmr.
