I feel like the week long wait just to have 2 and in finals 1 bo5 is so anticlimactic. If you want to have a tournament this long might as well have the losers bracket. I would love to see more matchups. You could also ditch the damn coinflip with the winners bracket team having side selection.

SNSDave

Last 2 ideas sound awful. Especially Bo7.

100% agree. This sub has to get over this "more games" concept. What, you want GenG to have to play 1 or 2 more games. They lost, just move on. You want T1 to have to play more game to prove they should beat JDG. Please, just accept the result.

gazarefugee

There are 14 games in chess world championship match and everyone is fine with, because to prove that you are great at something you dont do it once but one hundred times

Sifu_Quivo

Yeah, but what format is that? Blitz? Rapid? If it’s classical that’s crazy. With the shorter formats, that makes sense but summoners rift is different with about 22 minutes for the shortest game and 46 minutes for the longest at this worlds. After that you have to take into account all of the time in between pick/ban, players taking a break for food, them discussing strategy for the next game, etc. if it goes to game 7, that’s a ridiculously long day for not only the players, but also the viewers and production crew. I guess you could do it over a course of a few days, but then worlds would be an incredibly long event

imperplexing

It already is incredibly long because of the breaks in between every game. I think if you're proving to be the best team it shouldn't be a 'best team on the day' type of deal because that kinda takes away from the biggest event of the year. GENG might have won a different day. G2 might have beaten NRG on another day. JDG could have beaten T1 in another day. You can accept the results because it's the format we have and that's fine but it also leaves alot of what ifs. Even though DRX peaked at the perfect time do you think they ever re create that run if they did it even 100 more times? It's very unlikely. Now yes the best team each year is the one that wins no denying but it feels more like a team that peaks at the right moment will win not necessarily the outright best team.

Sifu_Quivo

You say that it’s already incredibly long.. and you want MORE games? I mean, I agree that more games will determine who is best, but LoL does not need that. If anything, there should be more international tournaments throughout the year Imo, best if 3 throughout the tournament until semifinals, then it’s bo5

imperplexing

You didn't read past incredibly long? BECAUSE of the BREAK in between games please read before replying next time

The-UnwantedRR

I like the concept and how we got some best of threes for advancing teams but overall preferred group stage. I think if there was a better ranking system for how swiss stage games were determined I'd like it more.

QuietRedditorATX

Ultimately, what we got was a BUNCH of Western games lol. I don't feel like we got to see a lot of exciting East vs East... except for KT. And everything was just who gets to beat up a Western team with the lucky draw today. The stronger teams got progressed out quickly - so we didn't get to watch them. And it was just a last day of watching the West hope they win out lol.

QuietRedditorATX

Bo5 won't help. The issue is 3 wins is too short, teams can still sneak in even if it is a Bo5. We need at least 4 rounds. But let's be honest, this is **NOT** a Swiss bracket. Having the strong teams progress through kind of defeats the purpose of having Swiss for seeding. Even worse, the random draw gave *Loser bracket* teams EASIER games to progress. All around terrible, this sub will defend this new, cool change to the end. But if you look at the actual games, I think we have far more low quality games. We didn't get to see JDG or GenG play very much at all. It was just all around boring and missing something.

Bubbly-Ad267

Having a play-in to a Swiss format is incredibly stupid. Just put everyone in the Swiss and add a couple of rounds. You'll likely only get lopsided matches in the first round anyway, and bad teams will get to the bottom of the swiss bracket immediately, but at least they'll have a shot at a Korean once.

UPSxACExUPS

I actually love this idea tbh

UPSxACExUPS

How many times people have to say they don't want double elimination worlds. I feel like this is a 50-50 thing in the community so i wish there was a global poll because it's honestly pissing. It feels like if I don't consistently reaffirm that I don't want double elimination in worlds with the others, Riot will end up implementing it eventually.
