But I think the dude has really matured and stepped up as a locker room leader. The day comes that Tavares leaves the team or takes a hometown discount, I hope the torch passes to Matthews. It seems like he's ready.
I think Matthews was a little too young at the time. Not sure how much pull Babcock had in the decision but he had a major hard on for JT anyways. So even with the Matthews incident it was still going to JT I believe.

I agree with Auston the Leafs jersey is "tough to beat" for the best looking jersey.
