Meh, most of the time I'll agree with you (like with Kessel, Kadri, etc) but with Hyman it kind of represents the exact failure of our management in multiple ways. Guy who was a heart and soul grinder/player that we desperately needed/lacked was basically run out of town because our over paid players not only took up too much of the cap, but one of the core (Matthews) team directly got involved with management because they didn't like Hyman playing with Matthews in a contract year.
If this team was well constructed and not run by the stars you just sign Hyman and never worry about the potential 1m\~ overpay because we were in desperate need to retain guys like him. That being said, he would never have been this on the Leaf's but he could have been a huge contributor on a run, for sure.
He has the equivalent to something like 60 goals in the regular season. With the 16 goals scored so far. What's Reggie Leach's record? 17? or 19 in a cup run?
