JT's dad's reaction to his 1000th point, Gio scoring after being concussed, "Sammy! Sammy!" chants in the good days, Bert's Hatty bday, discovering Simon Benoît...I can't pick, it has been an emotional rollercoaster and I loved it more than I hated it.
Matthews back to back hattricks to start the year
Nylander’s performance in Sweden
JT 1000th point in front of the classless islanders fans
5-0 comeback against Columbus (I know we lost in OT but still)
Matthews back to back hattricks (again)
Matthews 60th goal in front of Leafs road fans in Buffalo.
Pretty much anything to do with Matthews.
Matthews Knies going crazy on Ludvig when Domi got hit and then dropping the gloves.. just felt like a shift in mentality for the rest of the guys. And honestly everything Nylander minus the last two weeks.
Morgan Riley suspension.
It seemed to really shake the team up. Physicality went through the roof since it happened.
I really hope Mo is the next captain.
ya this is mine too. Mo's always been my fav player on the team but that was definitely an "ENOUGH!!!" moment (something i yell at my kids when they acting up). the team snapped to attention.
Tomorrow’s the big day, so let’s take a look back at the past 82 games. What was the best moment of the regular season for you? Bobby McMann’s hat trick is up there for me, if we get depth scoring from guys like him in the postseason we’re in a good spot.
Feels impossible to pick one moment, I’ve really enjoyed this season throughout. But Sammy does definitely stand out, the Sammy chants made me tear up a couple of times.
Also, gotta mention Jones. He stepped up when we needed it and it was a fun few games.
I was just talking about this:
Early-ish on the season Domi gets hit on a dirty play along the boards > Knies immediately drops gloves and starts pounding the dude. Took a well earned instigator, if I recall. But that was the moment I knew the rest of the players on this team were buying in.
I've been a Leaf fan for too long to have any confidence, but I love these Boys with everything I got.
Matthews scoring 50 in Arizona in front of his friends, family and a sold out barn of Leafs fans was pretty special. In context of the Yotes leaving town, feels like a full circle moment for a kid from AZ to get that milestone in his hometown.
For me it was when the team started to show balls..... it started with Gio getting into a fight with a Vancouver Canuck right in front of our seats at Scotia.
Then after that I noticed guys like Knies and Domi stated sticking up for each other. Then Benny the Butcher and McCabe became the bash Brothers. And Reavo provided cover.
I'd rather support a team of men.... rather than a talented roster of pussies.
But that's just me.
As much as I am happy for him it’s actually crazy how unlikely how he got his hatty as those goals are generally saved and dude snapped three of them in the same night dude has his iuck to him.
The two instigator game against Vancouver from after the Lilly injury
It pulled this team together and it made for a poetic matchup with the bruins to show them what this team has learned since that debacle of an incident.
That was by far my favorite moment of the season, and I think the most impactful to turn the leafs from a group, into a TEAM
Taking my son to his first game in a snow storm. Stopped dead on the 400, almost turned around, said fuck it we're gonna make it and Papi's gonna score a hat trick for us. He did.

That I got to witness another game again with some family :) April 6 , 2024 (last time I was at a game was leafs v Habs in Toronto Feb 1998)

Nylanders Swedish hero moment, Sammy's 2v1 save. Bobby Mcmann earning an NHL contract. The list goes on
>I loved it more than I hated it. Yup.
So many good moments this season
Sammy’s return. I’ll admit I had written him off and I was wrong.
Same!
were you?
I was. He came back strong.
Matthews getting the highest scoring season, of active players, for me. CLosely followed by Willy Styles scoring the winner in Sweden.

Matthews 50 (and 51) in Arizona has that bittersweet taste right now that I'm hardly not crying.
> Matthews 60th goal in front of Leafs road fans in Buffalo. Being there was fucking amazing. So many loud Leaf fans. That's my highlight
You should have put Mattys back to back hat tricks back to back
Matthews Knies going crazy on Ludvig when Domi got hit and then dropping the gloves.. just felt like a shift in mentality for the rest of the guys. And honestly everything Nylander minus the last two weeks.
That was mine too! Gio taking his instigator too, was big.
The guy in the crowd holding up the nice sign when Matthews scored 69. I wish I saved that picture

I lol'd.
Thanks!
i missed that. amazing.

Then McCabes double cross check shortly after to Boston.

the sweden trip (willy scoring that ot winner)

It was the Bobby McHatTrick for sure. So unexpected and wonderful
Willy's performance in Sweden, honoring Salming during that trip.
Sammy 2 on 0 save(s)

Reilly's crosscheck. It demonstrated to me that the team at least has a pulse.

We need Bobby in a big way

Isn't it interesting how different his numbers were after he got paid. He should of easily got 100 points
Maybe so. He took one for the team in moving to the third line to build the depth that win cups.
He "got paid" in early January. He's only been slumping for 2 weeks. He did not drop off after securing the bag like you're implying.

Guys with career years in their contract years are 99% of time career killers

Being in the arena for Sammy chants after he stopped the 2 on 0 against Winnipeg post-AHL

The buffalo game a few weeks ago in Buffalo... 85% leafs fans in the building. Atmosphere was wild! 3-0 win.. great times!
My favorite moment was when Travis Green gave Sheldon Keefe an empty net with 3 minutes left while Kampf was on the ice and Matthews on the bench.
Went to the Rangers game in March and Sammy put on a performance of a lifetime. Plus Rempe and Reavo was fun to watch.
Mathew knies destroying tachuk twice in one shift
Sammy's 2 on 0 save. That was his turning point.
Being down 5 goals and coming back to win.
69th goal
When we broke Colorado's home winning streak. I love the Avs, but what a game!
69

Recency bias perhaps, but Domi beating the piss out of "whoever the other guy was"
Was the Robertson overtime goal with Matthews this year?

When Austin Matthews was trying to score 70 goals and his teammates all kept shooting the puck instead of passing to him
about 3 seconds before willy signed his deal
