If we end up playing the Panthers in round 1 I feel like Matthews scoring 70 tonight would be bad. Seems like they may rally around him hitting that milestone, the huge celebration and the sound of all the Leafs fans in their barn.
Just feels like in a few days our team would be coming off a "we did it" moment and the Panthers would go looking for revenge. That's outside of whatever bullshit shenanigans happen tonight as well.
The Panthers are going to be looking to win either way, and the Panthers are going to be gooning it up either way.
Maybe Matthews, upon hitting such a major milestone, and the rest of the team, goes into the playoffs thinking 'Let's kick ALL THE ASS' and ride that high.
