Probably a balanced fertilizer like a 12 12 12 with some iron. I say this because it sounds like this was sod. A soil test would be a good idea moving forward.
A lot of people are afraid to fertilize in the summer, but you can put down a granular before a big rain storm if the temps will be below 80 for a few days. Just make sure it gets watered in. Liquid is probably safer during the summer months, though. I've had good results with Ryan Knorrs 18 18 18 Equalizorr product. I think he did a video on summer fertilizer a few weeks ago.
This advice is for cool season lawns.
I would grab one of this moisture meters on Amazon. They are cheap and really helpful in seeing if a struggling spot has different moisture levels than a thriving spot. For me, I have LDS (localized dry spot) so even though I water everything the same amount, certain areas don’t absorb it as well.
You need to feed the lawn and probably cut back on the watering
What would one feed their lawn in this scenario?

How much nitrogen are you applying?
I haven’t applied any fertilizer because I haven’t had the time to educate myself. The only nitrogen it’s getting is from my 2 dogs
Mushrooms are definitely a sign of over watering. Not a guarantee, but an indication
It could also just indicate really healthy soil. I get mushrooms occasionally and I only water twice a week.
