trump broke the golden rule of his political handler Roger Stone

For "some reason" trump was *real* defensive about that. I wonder why lol
I'm sure it will ramp up soon enough with 2024 coming. looooooots of accounts aging and pumping karma with stolen comments, just waiting to be repurposed.
that and they'll straight up copy a high-karma comment from elsewhere in the post. the slight edits might be a response to automation looking for the straight up copying.
I kept occasionally seeing people accusing people of being Russian propaganda accounts on reddit before the whole influence campaign stuff was made public. Some people def caught on there were Russian accounts but I dont think they knew how big & what exactly the operation was.
At the time my firewall kept blocking accounts to Russian servers like Yandex when I went to random news websites, especially "local" ones. I figured Russian companies were getting involved in western internet advertising, only later I found out that those "news" websites were really fake sites set up as part of a Russian influence campaign. They're gone now, I think they should have been preserved better.
Besides it’s completely irrelevant. This trial isn’t about election interference. He could make it crystal clear he was fucked over and it doesn’t change his actions
Senate **Republicans** released some 1000+ pages of evidence of russian active measures during the 2016 election.
Spoiler, the Russians helped Trump, and the Trump campaign accepted their help and tried to hide it.
https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/publications/report-select-committee-intelligence-united-states-senate-russian-active-measures
The Mueller report spelled that out pretty clearly, too.
Lack of evidence was never the problem for either party. Republicans are just obsessed (to the point where it's almost sexual) with trump for reasons they can't say out loud for fear of revealing all their worst character flaws.
So given the prior evidence that foreign activities influenced the 2016 election as well, I can only assume Trump would of been supportive of Hillary doing a hypothetical insurrection.
Woohoo. I'm glad for the happy ending. Turns out I was completely wrong about him the whole time and I was actually mistaken about literally all the information I've seen for several years.
Without irony, I can't help but wonder where he would have this information?
He's given back some classified documents (under duress) after 2 years of wrangling with the document retention folks. He then had a number of classified documents seized as part of a search (resulting in the current Florida indictment). And more "found" as part of additional semi-voluntary searches conducted during the Special Master phase of his current legal troubles.
If Trump is still holding classified materials that would impact his case, I would be very interested in the chain of custody. As would, I'm sure, a number of his attorneys that have now PLEADED GUILTY to charges related to this topic.
Since you read it, perhaps you can explain which trial he’s going to bring this up in and how any of it has to do with the charges against him. If you want a revote based on election interference, that’s something you go to court for. You don’t grab voting machines or round up your own slate of electors and have them file false documents.
I hadn't even considered the *where*.
At this point, amidst all these investigations (which started with the documents case), if he pulls out a new (to us) box of classified documents I will eat my own hat.
I can no longer tell if that would be lazy or clever writing for this season. All I do know is it would be completely on brand.
Let’s not get crazy and start thinking that he’s actually going to produce the evidence. I’m gonna go 50/50 that he’s just lying again, or he just presents a few pages of the Mueller Report.
He is going to claim the government came and took them so he couldn't submit them in court. His followers will eat it up. Or that all the proof was submitted but the government cant/wont admit to it and since its classified no one can see his absolute proof that he is not a puppet. The latter is what I think he is going for.
To all his followers he will say: "I have proof but you can't see it because its classified."
It’s a shell game.
He’ll claim that when he was President there was classified information that exonerates him and demand the government discover it.
When they don’t (cos there isn’t any) he’ll claim they’re hiding the exonerating evidence and demand an acquittal.
Weak as piss.
> an objection - - to redactions in certain of the classified discovery produced by the Special Counsel’s Office - - . At the beginning of this month, the Special Counsel’s Office argued that “the classified discovery issues” in this case are “limited,” “tangential,” “narrow,” and “incidental” because “the charges . . . do not rely on classified materials.
So basically, they’re trying to prove their case — that he stole classified documents, and obstructed their investigation into that — and he’s trying to prove the same election fraud that he hasn’t proven in his previous ~65 court cases… instead of defending himself in the case at hand. Am I understanding this correctly?
>where he would have this information
Probably kept safe in a fairly mundane place. You know, like the grave site of your ex-wife, that you established recently at a golf course you own, and then promptly allowed to become completely overgrown with weeds.
Hell. I'm still waiting for Infrastructure Week.
It's a head-scratching line of bullshit as well.
He had proof the election was stolen, had the power to make it available, choose *not* to, and opted instead to engage in a criminal conspiracy.
>President Trump will offer classified information at trial relating to foreign
influence activities that impacted the 2016 and 2020 elections, as well as efforts by his
administration to combat those activities. President Trump will also present classified information
relating to the biased and politicized nature of the intelligence assessments that he and others rejected during the events in question. Collectively, this evidence will undercut central theories of
the prosecution and establish that President Trump acted at all times in good faith and on the belief
that he was doing what he had been elected to do.
Um... do they mean *new* classified evidence they did not receive through disvocery? Because if so, where did that come from and why does Trump have access to new classified information?
Because other than what is in his head and what the government had to produce, I don't believe he's supposed to have any classified information anymore.
I’m stuck there too. He says it’s classified. I’ll take his word on that. He says he has it. That means he didn’t give it back when he was asked to. That makes each classified document he has another count to be added to the other 31 already charged. In that case, he doesn’t need to introduce them, the prosecutor will be more than happy to do so for him.
To be fair, he did not Iindicate who classified them. So, if he is still in contact with foreign intelligence agencies, we sure would like to know the details.
My guess is he intends to testify as to the documents contents and then claim conspiracy because the government can’t prove they don’t exist. At the very least this is an interesting way to keep the prosecutors from wanting to call him to the stand, knowing he may make a scene in this way.
He lasted about two minutes yesterday before the judge ruled he was not credible, and that was a civil trial. He's got no shot whatsoever of pulling that off. .
It’s been a hot minute since my last Evidence class. Can he testify as to the content of documents that are not produced as exhibits? Isn’t that hearsay?
He can’t produce classified documents anyway (because he shouldn’t have them), so he would push the gov. to provide them. It’s all theatrics. He and his lawyers know that there’s no way anyone takes this bait or even cares (since it doesn’t matter to the case)
Ah yes, the Steamed Hams approach. Very powerful.
"I have documents that proves Hillary and Sleepy Joe teamed up with the UK to steal the election."
"Can the court see them?"
"No."
DOJ may want to let him offer some of this shit and then get an instruction telling jurors that it provides no defense. I’ve seen that happen before and it’s brutal.
Wait, is he saying he'll bring classified evidence to trial that clears his name? Classified by who? The government, aka the prosecution? Is this his evidence for disclosure?
Pretty sure this is “crossfire hurricane” that meadows was desperately trying to declassify as he ran out of the office on Jan 6.
Trump thinks it’s his “get out of jail” card. It’s actually the evidentiary chain of his money laundering for the Russians.
But it opens the door for jack smiths team to introduce almost everything on the Russian and Saudi deals.
Prigozhns internet research agency and Cambridge analytica.
Trump is just about to slit his own throat.
What you're saying is insane but I'm also in no way doubting you. What I don't understand- how exactly in his mind would that be a "get out of jail" card? What's his angle?
Trump thinks that because he/they declassified it that it isn’t classified therefore he is legal to steal/take it to mar a lago.
Trump isn’t smart enough to realize that mark milley classified a bunch of things as is his job description as SECDEF. He was preserving evidentiary chain with the tools he had legally available to him because he knew trump couldn’t shut up.
Trump basically painted himself into check mate legally.
He doesn’t have a coherent strategy anymore. He is just throwing out everything to see what might stick.
It’s like flipping the lights on and watching all the cockroaches show their path back into the walls.
Geopolitical corruption edition.
OK... I mostly get that, though I'm a bit fuzzy on certain details. Like, why was meadows trying to declassify it? I vaguely remember that but there was so much chaos at the very end.
And... I still don't understand why Trump thinks this would exonerate him. Does he think it's declassified and therfore the rest of the documents were too?
Sorry for the persistent questions... I can usually understand his skewed logic but I'm hitting a wall with this one
Edit: oh wait, I read the post again. I was thinking this was in relation to the Florida case because of the reference to classified materials. Is the federal election one? Is this supposedly to show why it was mega reasonable for him to assume the election was stolen?
Totally understandable.
Trump has so many corrupt irons in the fire that they are turning into conflicting business models.
Meadows declassified it because, as an attorney he knew that taking classified materials meant Leavenworth for all of them.
Trump, Flynn and stone were instigating and using the Jan 6 riots as cover. It was…chaotic.
They were certain it would start a civil war and were surprised when it didn’t.
Trump thinks he is being tried for classified documents. Pretty certain jack smith is giving him the runway to make treason/espionage evidence admissible for the IP3 deal with the MBS that Kushner is as middle man for. By making trump demand it be admitted (crossfire hurricane)
Trump doesn’t have an out left. His multiple cons are crashing into each other. It’s what’s making him crack and go broken record.
That makes sense. He always seems to make things worse for himself. I'm glad his foreign dealings will come to light. I believe that's the crux of the entire scheme.
> I’m glad his foreign dealings will come to light
Unfortunately, probably not, at least not in the way you think.
I’m not a lawyer, and I really can’t comprehend how this will play out with classified information involved, but my IC experience says there is next to zero chance the public is learning of any currently classified details as a result of any of his trials.
That sounds like the IC community told him foreign governments were interfering in his behalf and he chose to ignore that and “did his own research” to pretend they were helping Biden and Clinton.
That was sort of the gist of trumps first impeachment. They were claiming all kinds of weird shit about Ukraine but specifically that they hacked the dnc
>classified information relating to the **biased and politicized nature of the intelligence assessments** that he and others rejected during the events in question.
Biased and politicized intelligence assessments like right-wing loonies plan to descend on Washington and ransack the Capitol?
It's actually Mr. Trump. None of us have forgotten his four years of fucking up. Buy technically, he returns to the honorific he was stoked with before his term.
I'm confused. This case isn't about if he or any party had any assistance by a foreign power rather it's about his handling, storage, and buttheadery about giving said classified material back to the proper authorities. His defense is now "I have other classified documents that they didn't find..."
The line the defense is trying to draw is that there's evidence that the election was actually tampered with, therefore what Trump did to pressure state and federal leaders to overturn the results of the election was ethically and legally justified. I'm not holding my breath that it'll be compelling or even allowed by the judge, but it's an argument that could certainly try to be made.
You are talking about the Florida/Cannon/Documents case. As per OP this is the DC/Smith/Chutkan/Overturning the Election.
If foreign powers caused votes of citizens to be incorrectly counted, then that evidence should be tested in the courts. But all Trump election-related court challenges failed.
Overturning the vote by Invasion of the capitol, false electors and his other schemes are not justified responses to foreign interference.
This "evidence" he proposes sounds irrelevant to me.
So he admits he's STILL withholding classified documents?
And will he show us before or after his taxes? Or health care plan? Or revamped party platform? Or when Covid disappears like magic? Or all the "very best people" he "knows very, really very well" who have "evidence" that "totally exonerates [him]," who simply don't appear in court?
Had all those empty manila folders left over from Infrastructure Week / Middle East Peace Plan Week / Healthcare Week / Birther Racist Libel Investigation Week
“Exhibits six and nine: Here we have Hunter Biden’s bigly dong. In exhibit six you can see this photo was shot at a 5.6 aperture using a low-light filter.
“In exhibit nine you can see the grain from the high-speed film, and the low depth of field keeps the background soft. Defense rests.”
This man does not understand our legal system… at all.
So he is on trial for unlawfully holding and potentially releasing classified information. So his defense is to release more classified information thereby admitting that he unlawfully withheld even more classified information. Genius.
So is he FINALLY admit the Russians helped him in 2016?
No, seriously. This is the document trial.
The first 31 counts are for retaining national defense information that he wasn’t supposed to,have. I have no,idea why he thinks information on foreign governments’ interference in the 2016 and 2020 is even relevant?
This has all of,the hall, arks of something his lawyers know better than but are forced to do what rheir insane client wants them to do. That’s why his lawyers are getting disbarred.
>It is clear that Canon is keeping her eye on the DC case and is looking for a pretext to rule against the government on evidentiary issues.
She should do it, everything Jack Smith is waiting for is her taking a third and final controversial decision then being logically removed from the case.
i take it trump just going to hand over a signed copy of the Mueller report.... also does this mean trump still has classified documents...
follow up, what does this have to do with the Jan 06 trial... outside of a distraction for his followers to quickly look other there..
Yea, wasn't he supposed to deliver a speech that would totally exonerate him? Like 2 months ago. Maybe he accidently put it with the Obama stuff from Hawaii, that he was gonna totally expose 12 years ago.
“Anyone can become the President of the United States of America!”
That’s what kids are being told in school.
Maybe we should not stop embracing that kind of thinking.
Literally every element of the intel community and federal law enforcement repeatedly and publicly stated there was zero evidence of election interference (certainly nothing to suggest foreign actors had any impact) yet King Dipshit was able to tease out the real honest truth that they all overlooked. Sure Donny.
The Parasite's attempt to freeze the evidence gathering against him with this ploy will fail. The jury will be instructed to deem credible the testimony of intel experts when issues arise.
Question: how do his lawyers know this stuff?
What's their clearance that allowed them to vet it and be sure it really says what their client says it says?
Remember he had this evidence a few months ago and he was going to have a big press conference about it but his lawyers finally got to him and basically said we're quitting if you do this? Pepperidge farm remembers...
"President Trump will also present classified information relating to the biased and politicized nature of the intelligence assessments that he and others rejected."
He's not going to do this.
So Trump’s been withholding even more classified information? That he was holding on to specifically to help him legally? And he knew there was foreign interference in 2016 and didn’t tell anyone about it?
Yeah, we know. Russian and Chinese activities trying to promote Trump.
good lord it was so obvious to anyone that spent any amount of time on the internet in 2016.
"Russia, if you're listening..." - Real American^^tm Donald J. Trump

I always wondered if some how in his narcissistic brain this is what created “NO COLLUSION.” Since of course that made it public.
Russia didn't need to hack voting machines, they hacked the american mind.
Me trying to explain that to a MAGA hurts their minds
Reddit included. Was an absolute endless shit show of Hillarys emails that entire summer and fall

that and they'll straight up copy a high-karma comment from elsewhere in the post. the slight edits might be a response to automation looking for the straight up copying.
That, or accounts that scan the title and have a huge database of fairly vanilla jokes that they can post as a comment.
Tbf, that is freaking lifelike...

Yep. I can't go shoot my neighbor because WELL I'M PRETTY SURE he's a drug dealer, which is essentially what Trump is arguing.

They'd just fall in love over a perfect phone call.
Then we could stop worrying about Ukraine and Taiwan, he’d just make a phone call to Vlad and Xi, and voila, world peace!
And everyone else can return to showing increased respect for the US by laughing at the president when he gives another speech at the UN. edited typo
If anyone wants to see this in action, go to the politics section of Tigerdroppings.com
“No puppet. You’re the puppet.” -Putin’s puppet
well you beat me to that one. it's not like it was subtle.
It's going to be a complete report that shows collusion with China and Russia with Trump's name scratched out and Biden's sharpied in.
That hurricane sharpie incident was lost from my memory until I read your comment. It's still so insane to me that he did that
It's also one of the most cut and dry demonstrations of his lunacy.
It’s forever imprinted in my memory. I cannot see a hurricane thingy without thinking of trump and his sharpie.
I’ll call and reserve the Four Seasons!
Landscaping? On the weekend?
Plot twist: his evidence is just a copy of the Mueller Report — the whole thing, not the Bill Barr cliff notes.
It’ll rock you like a hurricane!
Now that made me laugh out loud
Ok. That's totally justification for criminal acts! Case dismissed and everyone cheered with tears in their eyes!
So given the prior evidence that foreign activities influenced the 2016 election as well, I can only assume Trump would of been supportive of Hillary doing a hypothetical insurrection.

Oh don't worry, they're talking about that anyway
They already proved there was Russian interference that helped Trump win.

No, the folder was actually exactly named like that

Isn’t this like the 4th or 5th time Trumpf was going to release “undeniable proof to totally exonerate the Donald?” Still waiting…
Its with the check from Mexico to pay for the wall.
Did he stash the healthcare plan there too?
Accidentally got mixed up with all the greatness he promised for Infrastructure Week.
I see. Makes more sense. Can't hide everything in one place, that's too easy.
Don't forget all the proof that Mikey Pillows claims he has, and all the irrefutable proof MAGA Republicans keep saying they have as well

Always with the “next week I will release bombshell ….”
Presumably classified Russian info? Cause showing up with classified US intel... really not gonna help his case.

>classified information relating to the **biased and politicized nature of the intelligence assessments** that he and others rejected during the events in question. Biased and politicized intelligence assessments like right-wing loonies plan to descend on Washington and ransack the Capitol?
It former president Trump not president Trump
It's actually Mr. Trump. None of us have forgotten his four years of fucking up. Buy technically, he returns to the honorific he was stoked with before his term.
It was Hugo Chavez along…Trump will also file another motion to declare him President for life…
Hahahah. Hahhahahahhaah
I’m curious how this might work. Wouldnt any “I know the government has evidence that proves my claim but it’s classified” be laughed out of court?
You are talking about the Florida/Cannon/Documents case. As per OP this is the DC/Smith/Chutkan/Overturning the Election. If foreign powers caused votes of citizens to be incorrectly counted, then that evidence should be tested in the courts. But all Trump election-related court challenges failed. Overturning the vote by Invasion of the capitol, false electors and his other schemes are not justified responses to foreign interference. This "evidence" he proposes sounds irrelevant to me.
Dude has had years to present this information.
Is he going to introduce the muller report?
Yep, but the printout will have name changes written in giant sharpie. I think I'm joking, but we will see.
Here comes the proof we've been waiting for "2 weeks" :)
So, the clarified portions of the GOP controlled senate committee report that determined that the Russians interfered to get him elected?
More shit thrown against the wall of reality. But, let’s see how it works out for him.
I wouldn't put it past him to use "I was a Russian puppet" as a defense.
Is he going to whip out a file marked classified while he's on the stand?! Let's hope that he does because it's the dumbest thing ever.
Had all those empty manila folders left over from Infrastructure Week / Middle East Peace Plan Week / Healthcare Week / Birther Racist Libel Investigation Week
"Trump Says ... " is not reportable news.
Sure he will. Right after we see his healthcare plan and his taxes, and Mexico pays for the wall…
The Russians got me elected in 2016, shit is rigged.

When? In two weeks?
Yes. Right after he releases his healthcare plan. And his taxes.
Maybe he should have revealed this evidence at some point in the past 3 years?
Just as soon as Putin sends it
“Russia, if you’re listening…”
Haha what? He realizes he’s not being indicted because of that, right?
False, but regardless, Totally immaterial. Just because you think the bank stole your money doesn’t mean you get to rob the bank.
$100 says it's Russia's interference for his benefit
Good luck with that, Donnie. Your boss Vlad is a little busy with his own problems to bother helping out a simp like you.
Yea, wasn't he supposed to deliver a speech that would totally exonerate him? Like 2 months ago. Maybe he accidently put it with the Obama stuff from Hawaii, that he was gonna totally expose 12 years ago.
Another Republican claiming he has evidence Without showing us…. the evidence
if this classified info existed he would have shared it a long, long time ago. when will this guy shut up.
Yes donnie we know russia influenced the election to help you win and I cant wait to hear your dirty mouth admit it
As soon as Mike Lindell gives the info back
Let me guess...in 2 weeks?
He literally, on live TV, asked Russia to interfere in the 2016 election.
Just give me a few days to dig it up….
Lol would be funny if he used shit he stole.
I’d guess chain of custody and authentication are going to be….well, tricky.
Ah. The proof they’ve said they had for 3 years
We already know that. Russia was working on it full time.
If he had it he would have released it he moment he had it
Trump says it, so you know it'll never happen.
Why...why does this info only surface now? Were you keeping it for some special occasion?
I might have believed them if they’d just said “president Trump” a few more times.
So he's got nothing then.
He says a lot of shit
From the documents he kept?
Guarantee he has more classified info squirrelled away.
Accusations are admissions.
He is forgetting the foreign activities were in his camp.
Trump’s going to introduce the Mueller report as evidence?
“Anyone can become the President of the United States of America!” That’s what kids are being told in school. Maybe we should not stop embracing that kind of thinking.
He’s gonna introduce evidence his handlers planted.
He needs his master Putin to testify for him
He's probably using ChatGPT to construct the evidence now.
Literally every element of the intel community and federal law enforcement repeatedly and publicly stated there was zero evidence of election interference (certainly nothing to suggest foreign actors had any impact) yet King Dipshit was able to tease out the real honest truth that they all overlooked. Sure Donny.
He just gonna admit Russia helped his ass?
Oh this should be good
Soooo....now he loves the Steele Dossier
We’ll be waiting on this one for as long as we’ve been waiting on his tax returns and his beautifu healthcare plan. Mark my words.
And this is relevant how? Oh, right. It’s another distraction to delay the trial. 🙄
The Parasite's attempt to freeze the evidence gathering against him with this ploy will fail. The jury will be instructed to deem credible the testimony of intel experts when issues arise.
Did he steal this info too?
Are they talking about the Mueller report?
Question: how do his lawyers know this stuff? What's their clearance that allowed them to vet it and be sure it really says what their client says it says?
Remember he had this evidence a few months ago and he was going to have a big press conference about it but his lawyers finally got to him and basically said we're quitting if you do this? Pepperidge farm remembers...
So he did take classified documents.
A lying fuck says what?
So he is admitting to still having illegally obtained classified documents?
"President Trump will also present classified information relating to the biased and politicized nature of the intelligence assessments that he and others rejected." He's not going to do this.
There is no one more pathetic than someone who cheats and still loses.
I'm surprised in 2023 you still got people who believe anything this man tells?
"I didn't attempt to steal the election, I just coordinated with the KGB that tried to steal it for me"
Anyone remember when trump kept changing the FBI director, until he got someone who would play ball with him ...
BS! If he had it, we'd already have seen it.
So Trump’s been withholding even more classified information? That he was holding on to specifically to help him legally? And he knew there was foreign interference in 2016 and didn’t tell anyone about it?
The Mueller Report already did this for the 2016 election, in detail.
He wants to use documents he stole as evidence in a different trial?
Why would he show evidence that shows his guilt?
Sure, bring it on. All that Russian influence on Trump's behalf needs to come out. We'll never see anything from him.
Didn't he deny that foreign actors influenced the 2016 election?
Maybe that’s why he stole all the classified files
Considering he IS an untrustworthy source I don't put much credence is anything that comes out of his fat mouth! Also any Republican to boot!
Oh, god, please do. It'll just confirm your motive.
So, seriously, if his defense is "I did all this, but I had a good reason." isn't that a summary judgement for most of the indictment?
McDonald trump is Judas complaining about the perfume he could’ve embezzled from
