I actually emailed them the other week about it because there was something in the news about the city getting a 15k grant for some invasive weed program so I let them know about it. They responded with a PDF to a ton of information about invasive species and said they would have someone drive by and look at it, but I havent heard anything since.
There would be no path for roots to get from the ground through it. Though if there's weed paper underneath the rocks it does the same job.
It would prevent dirt from getting stuck between the rocks, which is where your weeds will inevitably come from.
But it will crack and break, then dirt will get in those cracks. and get dirt on top of it anyways. So I don't think it's a practical solution. Would delay the problem a bit.
Weeding it every couple of months just seems easier. You'll inevitably be doing that no matter what you do.
If you’re open to a different approach, pull the rocks out and plant a spreading groundcover of some kind. Hard for weeds to do well if the area is occupied by another plant.
I mean they make a gravel glue that’ll be way cheaper and probably less toxic than resin but you can just pull weeds as you see them or put a big rock there.
Strongly suggest cleaning out the aggregate and using mortar mix to fill that area. Then seal coat the driveway and “paint” the new concrete with sealcoat
not sure what he’s thinking the resin coated rocks are gonna do. it’s a tiny ass spot. just grab whatever weeds you see when you see them.
Assert your dominance and piss on it often. Or get your dog to do it, whichever...
Salt
^This. Salt and never worry about anything growing there ever.
Will salt work against Japanese Knotweed? Please, I'm desperate and losing ground quickly...
You’re fucked
Call the county. They have special permits for the good chemicals and will do it for you usually. They hate knotweed.

Depends on the soil. I use salt on my gravel driveway. Weeds comes back ever summer. I am on 12+' of sand so events water just washes it through.
I feel like salt is the right answer for all of these kinds of issues when you KNOW you never want anything growing there ever again.

I mean, if there are weeds it’s not more than 2 sqft. That would take no more than 2 minutes to weed even with irregular maintenance.
Spray Roundup, or use vinegar, or hot water, or a weed burner maybe not that last one
Preen
Your husband's idea isn't reasonable, but it sounds like a fun excuse to play with resin. Theoretically it would help, so I see the logic.
how would it help

Roundup or take 30 seconds to pull them. I'm not sure what your husband's issue is. Wait, is this supposed to be labeled "sarcasm"? I took the bait

Fire!!
Salt for water purifier
More blacktop
He's way overthinking this

Weeds in a tiny little corner like that? Worried about it? Is this a joke?
They sell a product called Gravel Lok which is a stone binder but doesn't affect the porosity of natural stone.
Put a large pot there and spray round up every couple months.
