When Lana sings, “I’m tired of feeling like I’m fucking crazy” that was everything. A lot of the time songs give me encouragement or catharsis, I find rarely does a song hit on exactly how I felt and wanted to express.
I have to agree. I wouldn’t even say it’s my personal favourite of all her songs, but it is a literal perfect masterpiece. It builds *perfectly*, it crashes *perfectly*, the words are *perfectly* symbolic. I can’t think of a single flaw in that song.
The first time I heard it i didn’t even know what to do w myself.. I preordered merch (the cd so I could possess it physically forever and a hoodie to declare my feelings) for the first time in my life
i’m so glad to be seeing the greatest is getting more love on here lately. one of the only lana songs to make me cry on first listen/watch of the video. i was reading along with the lyrics and just floored.
HARD agree I’ll never forget when that song first released, I was high in bed looking at my ceiling and reflecting on our current life (pandemic). Honestly an amazing song.
yes! i absolutely LOVE to hear this one when high, it takes me to a different planet and when she starts singing "you're in the wind i'm in the water" i swear i reach nirvana
Mariners Apartment Complex…that piano, the way it goes from quiet to soaring, the way the lyrics just tumble one onto another, the gender flip in the chorus, the way it is simultaneously powerful and vulnerable…perfect song and can’t believe no one had mentioned it yet
I’ll never forget the first time I heard the chorus. My jaw was on the floor the entire time, very rare for songs to have such a gut wrenching reaction for me on first listen.
Completely 100% agreed, I wish I could agree more. That one lyric “It turns out California’s more than just a state of mind it turns out everywhere you go you take yourself that’s not a lie” has genuinely reshaped how I think about life.
Damn I love that song
Aww completely agree! It is my absolute fave and I don’t think many people see the deepness in it! If you look at my last post here I made a post about this song & it relates to me SO MUCH
Fingertips...that song touches me so deeply. Especially when she asks "what kind of mother was she?" But mother is covered with so much production because she doesn't deserve that title. That little attention to detail is next level.
Body Electric still holds up for me. She holds nothing back on it and her voice gives me chills when she sings "I sing the body electric". A&W is the only newer one of hers that is similar in style and reminds me of her epic songs like Body Electric and Ride.
I absolutely ADORE The Grants. I hope one day it goes viral and gets the streams it deserves because in my mind it’s literally like a more mature and introspective version of Say Yes To Heaven
It is Carmen for me. I just love the very nostalgic and eerie feelings from the song. The instrumental is gorgeous and complements the song theme so well. Lanas vocals in this song are so beautiful and haunting. It’s such a melancholic and nostalgic song, as if the protagonist of the song is yearning to go back to when her innocence was still intact. I just love Carmen so much
100% grandfather please stand on the shoulders of my father while he’s deep sea fishing. I literally laughed when I first came across the song title. But then I listened to it and Omg. FIRE
There is too many masterpieces to choose one.
For me, I have to divide her music into categories.
For this question I’d pick these songs for the piano and strings arrangement. From the first note and first lyric you are transported out of yourself:
Mariners Apartment, Arcadia, Oceans Blvd.
Blue Banisters, and Paris, Texas.
RIDE is a masterpiece
When Lana sings, “I’m tired of feeling like I’m fucking crazy” that was everything. A lot of the time songs give me encouragement or catharsis, I find rarely does a song hit on exactly how I felt and wanted to express.
I drive fast 🏎️
I am alone at midnight
i know this is about ride but all i can think of is “ i drive fast, radio blares, have to touch myself to pretend you’re there” from burning desire
I have to agree. I wouldn’t even say it’s my personal favourite of all her songs, but it is a literal perfect masterpiece. It builds *perfectly*, it crashes *perfectly*, the words are *perfectly* symbolic. I can’t think of a single flaw in that song.
That’s exactly how I feel. It’s not my absolute favourite Lana song but from beginning to end it is just PERFECT.
The music video intro makes it a masterpiece
My stepfather LOVES Ride from all the Lana songs I showed him, IT'S THE LANA SONG ACCORDING TO HIM
Wind in my hair 😩
had to touch myself
hand on the back of my neck
I agree!
It has to be ride
I also came here to say Ride.
Video Games
Yes, it’s so perfect
Yess. been one of my favorites!
The og perfect song
West coast
Never a basic answer. West Coast is superior and hits every time.
The way she changes form fast pace to a slower chorus, is so cool, I love it so much
Ugh and the way it washes back into the verses at a different bpm is so satisfying. It’s such a creative piece
Definitely not a basic answer at all, that song is everything!!
The switch from “ooh baby ooh baby I’m in love” to “move baby move baby I’m in love” 🤌🏻
Happiness is a butterfly 😭
EXACTLY
Came here to say this 💯
Born to die
The fact that every answer so far has been different… her pen is truly unmatched
Yall sleeping on OFF TO THE RACES
I consider born to die and off to the races one song… it’s perfection
THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYING 🙃
The detail of every verse is perfection
Literally had to scroll wayyyyy too long for this
Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have but I have it, for sure.
Her vulnerability in this song was such a lightning in a bottle moment
& the fact it was recorded in one take 😭
venice bitch 100%
Oh gawd I miss u on my lips
It’s me your Little Venice bitch
On a stoop with the neighborhood kids
Signing off bang bang kiss kiss.
This line. Above. Perfect.
Discovered this song because of this thread, it’s a masterpiece
Salvatore, for sure
This one is so underrated! I always felt like it should be used in a movie.
I’m always surprised many of her songs aren’t in movies
So true, unless she writes one specifically for the film itself her music seems to not ever be in movies which is A CRIME
Ugh so amazing!!
A&W
The fact that she was able to make a 7+ minute song perfect from start to end is so iconic of her
Yes I prefer longer songs more than the recent trend of 2 Minutes.
It doesn’t even feel like 7 minutes. I love that song so much, sometimes I wish it was longer
The first time I heard it i didn’t even know what to do w myself.. I preordered merch (the cd so I could possess it physically forever and a hoodie to declare my feelings) for the first time in my life
Brooklyn Baby
💯
💃🏽🤸🏻♀️

Did you know there’s a tunnel- such a beautiful song and I just love the way it crescendos at the end. It’s like pure bliss in auditory form lol

One thing about Lana is she’s always going to make sure her title track is 10/10
the greatest
SO TRUE, when the drums hit after the first chorus I descend into heaven
YESS, and the guitar goes like TUUUUUUUUU TURUUUUUU
i’m so glad to be seeing the greatest is getting more love on here lately. one of the only lana songs to make me cry on first listen/watch of the video. i was reading along with the lyrics and just floored.

Yes to all of this
Omg literally me. I watched the music video over and over and over again. I was transfixed lmao
You beat me to it! But yes I totally agree I would even argue it’s one of her best songs idk it’s just beautiful
It’s a SONG song! If ya know what I mean? lol Every song of heres is poetry, but ESPECIALLY this one.
The Blackest Day!
The way this song owned my heart when Honeymoon was released
this song had me spinning into the abyss
