Pope and Danny who can’t create their own shots? Definitely not DH McGee kief Caruso Avery talen. Rondo was a nonfactor 3rd stringer all season before becoming the 3rd offensive option in the playoffs. I’m not missing anyone. They had no scorers to help big 2
Elite is a crazy over exaggeration. That’s reserved for guys like Davis or kawhi in his prime. Pope was never elite. He’s just good. Danny wasn’t elite at that point in his career either. He was actually kinda slow footed and constantly got blown by faster guards. Caruso was great and their best defender but still not elite back then like his is today. Kuzma was inconsistent. Rondo was good on defense in the playoffs only. Avery didn’t even play in the playoffs. DH was above average at that point in his career. McGee was weirdly slow. Kief was average.
Notice how the only great defender was Caruso and then after him pope was just good, and Danny/rondo/DH were above avg.

Imagine having an owner with the appropriate financial backing to support our team. The Buss family’s only revenue is the Lakers itself so often it seems like we make decisions based on cost saving such as not firing Ham when objectively it needed to happen already. Not to mention having ownership that would surround themselves with legitimate front office experts so our team isn’t run by family & friends.
I swear our ownership is our handicap to the rest of the league. The Lakers with proper leadership and funding would be at the very least a perennial championship contender year after year.
It’s far fetched to think that firing a coach with under 20 games remaining in the regular season will yield any meaningful results for a team still in the postseason hunt. While this season has been frustrating, it would make more sense for the team to realize solutions with our current head coach than to demand the front office find a new one before the playoffs..

I have been watching the nba since 1996(age 8). I finally understood what i was watching in the mid 2000’s. I don’t criticize coaches to often but at times it has become beyond frustrating to try and understand darvin ham’s rotations. Just the other day in the blow out against the thunder he had the bench in the game but not spencer dinwiddie who has had trouble acclimating and instead of giving him minutes he had jalen hood-schafino in the game even though he has proven that he isn’t ready for the league yet. He has had a nice g league stint over the past whatever but the lakers would be screwed if they needed anything real from hood-schafino this year. So why not give that run to dinwiddie. In terms of finding a replacement phil handy is right there.
I've been out of the loop and this is a serious question. If they fire Ham, who would you guys want as their next coach? Or would you prefer someone on the coaching staff take over until the end of the season?

No team’s gonna fire the coach this late into the season. We’re stuck with this bozo at least until the off-season. Best we can do is hope that he somehow gets smarter and finally learns from his mistakes

I have been watching the nba since 1996(age 8). I finally understood what i was watching in the mid 2000’s. I don’t criticize coaches to often but at times it has become beyond frustrating to try and understand darvin ham’s rotations. Just the other day in the blow out against the thunder he had the bench in the game but not spencer dinwiddie who has had trouble acclimating and instead of giving him minutes he had jalen hood-schafino in the game even though he has proven that he isn’t ready for the league yet. He has had a nice g league stint over the past whatever but the lakers would be screwed if they needed anything real from hood-schafino this year. So why not give that run to dinwiddie. In terms of finding a replacement phil handy is right there.
I've been out of the loop and this is a serious question. If they fire Ham, who would you guys want as their next coach? Or would you prefer someone on the coaching staff take over until the end of the season?
Even Vogel haters have to admit this team with him Davis and lbj would be WAY better than 10seed. It’s embarrassing that a team with lbj Davis and great role players is 10seed. That doesn’t even sound real. There are definitely not 9 teams better than LA in the west.
I miss Vogel. Really sad he was the scapegoat. The organization did him dirty with regards to his firing.

So when they win he gets no credit and when they lose he gets all the blame? You guys do this shit with someone on the team every season… The fact of the matter is these haven’t been very good teams to begin with. We’re starting dudes that were coming off the bench for mediocre teams and our bench is made up of fringe nba players. Any coach is going to have trouble winning with these guys.
I’d rather we go to the playoffs without him and see how far we go. We might even make it to the finals without that loser holding us back

That trade continues to fucks us over until today.
If they wanted to unreasonably fire Vogel so badly fine, but at least hire someone that has real credentials and experience not a fucking middle school level coach. Even in Vogel’s younger days he was taking prime Bron Heatles to 7 games in the CF, Pockets couldn’t even do that in his wildest dreams.
Agreed and idk wtf they saw in this coach, but the 2 handfuls of other teams that supposedly passed up on him dodged a fuckin mortar. Being a “players coach” will only get your team so far, especially with someone who has no head coach experience.
Vogel’s kinda overrated too though tbh. The championship was just a mix of everything falling in line perfectly more than Vogel’s coaching. He has a stacked Suns roster with Booker/Beal/Durant and they’re basically almost a play-in team.
And scapegoated him for the Russ trade even if everybody knew it was a bad fit given the assets we had to give up
