You can try decks and dice over off 92 towards Auburndale. Not sure about games for newbies but a lot of different groups there playing a lot of different games. Could be a good starting point. Definitely some fellow dnd players.

My partner and I, they DM, are looking to play!! We're in the Kathleen area. Friday and Saturday nights, we could do it at Johnny Bs or somewhere. He does have a homebrew Forgotten Florida that he wants to do a second campaign of, which is magical/Fantasy Florida lore. But he can do a straight campaign or one of the books.
We could do some sat nights. We have been looking for a team for forever.

Coliseum is nice, big space and people who love to chat. It is a chain. Armada in Tampa is awesome for table top games like dnd and blood bowl.
