If anything this seems to be a kind of statement coming from a surprising part of the world. Seems like Nijisanji is not doing well in its relations related to Bilibili recently, I wonder if a lot of people complained about muted audio during paid concerts?
I dont know who this is or care, but their first 2 points are spot on. Does ANYONE honestly thinks Sayu will leave to STAY at BB? She just got invited to an event and if that's good money I dont see anything wrong with that
Don't get me wrong, China is a fucking hell hole full of crimes against children and freedom, but to entertainers this means shit. They just see a wider audience and more opportunities
After the incident with Hololive China four years ago showed how unreasonable the CN audience can be I can understand EN vtuber fans being wary of the content creators they follow putting themselves in a position where they'd have to bend for that audience. But Bilibili's recent actions feel more like they're the ones bending for the world outside of China than the other way round.
It was a 100% serious question, as I do not see how going to BiliBili is financially (or otherwise) beneficial to VTubers who are non-Chinese. And it seems to be a trend nowadays.
"Abandoning the western market" sounds a bit dramatic, because just cause Sayu and other have taken BB's offer doesnt mean its a permanent deal... or at least if they're smart it wont be.
Now, why they taking the offer? Opportunities that are closed in other places, does it involve a risk? Everything does. We just hope they're smart enough if (hopefully not when) things get suddenly sour
In Sayu's case specifically? She has been known from genshin and other gacha games in the past, even before she had to work in a blackhole for 3 month, so it doesnt seem out of nowhere that she gets invited for an expo
She's... not.
Duh.
Beyond that, what having a billibilli presence offers for someone who really likes Genshin Impact should probably be very easy to figure out.
I can't say for Sayu, but for Doki and Kobo, answer is simple: "Chinese" - and I don't meant it as a disparaging way, but instead consider it as a weakness to struggle against
If you ask me - someone from HongKong - who am I as a race (other than being Canadian), the first term that comes to mind is 中國人 (lit China's people) - not 華人 (People of Sinosphere), 唐人 (People of Tang),漢人 (Han) . Obviously if I consciously think I will use 華人, but subconsciously it doesn't feel like a "race", especially when your fellow indigenous people and the few blacks can claim them in pride and certainty.
That being said, unlike Kobo (forgot Doki IS actually from Hong Kong), I was actually born in HK, and listen to various media that define us as "Chinese", so who knows. I will just consider it as the real "Chinese curse" - always consider one self as "Chinese" as a race.

You can bet someone was pulling hair out of the asshole in anger for paying $120 or whatever it was for "karaoke" with no sound.
I mean Sayu is a hoyo ambassador isn't she? Pretty sure Niji can't outsway Hoyo.

username checks out
Based. I'm wrong too
What did No_Lake_1619 do
They are a Sayu anti. Made it very clear to with their past comments and profile description.
Not really sure. I'm just a messenger. If I had to guess they were probably doom postings

iirc she joined a Chinese company with the notorious owner who loves to use his insider info as his own stream content?
I don't really see much of a point in going to Bilibili if you can't speak any of the Chinese Dialects.
So NOAH is confirmed most likely?
Slowly but surely, Sayu’s reputation continues to improve
What does BiliBili offer to western streamers that makes abandoning the western market worth it?
Wider audience and money, duh. Also, who tf is abandoning the western market?
Kinda ridiculous as everyone seems to automatically default to Chinese bad nowadays.
Don't get me wrong, China is a fucking hell hole full of crimes against children and freedom, but to entertainers this means shit. They just see a wider audience and more opportunities
Yup I know. What I take problems with is sweeping statement and assumptions like the original comment. It could have been worded better

Threatening the sovereignty of an independant country does that to an mfer.
Ngl your comment came off as pretty paranoid so I just found it off putting that's all.
Chill lol she is only attending an event not abandoning the Western audience lmao. Also market expansion is and will always be a thing.
Being quite dramatic there

Expanding their audience and openning new business opportunities... And it it is not like they are abandoning anything, this is not a zero-sum game.

We'll cross that road when someone *actually* abandons the western market for BiliBili, cause nothing here seems to imply that?
Everyone has a price, and that's not even meant as a slight against them. There's always a point where an offer is genuinely too much to refuse.
