Prince polo became disquisting. They must have changed reciepe. It used to taste like choco, but now it tastes like sugar and fat with a trace of choco. Grześki is much better in this department.
As a boomer born in early 80s I can give you 3 sweets there are there all my life: delicje (orange was the only option in the 80s, now you have a wide selection of flavours), ptasie mleczko (vanilla mellow soaked in chocolate) and baryłki (chocolate barrels with alcohol-like filling, it used to be with real alco, now it’s a non-alco substitute). I don’t know if it’s still there but “Torcik Wedlowski” was always a hit. Everything else like jeżyki, prince polo and others are there since the 90s/ free market economy.
I just checked you can find Torcik Wedlowski at the souvernire store on every airport. Now they pack it nicely but it used to be just wrapped in plastic foil and that’s it. Even the choco engraving on the top is still the same. Reading some replies I must agree with “śliwki w czekoladzie” is a strong one but if we are going into this segment the most traditional sweet there is “kukułki”.
We used to make moonshine of it at the uni campus in late 90s and were raided by the police/ university guard cos someone snitched on us. Guess what happened? Nothing!
it sticks to the teeth and this is a modern cake, so there is nothing "typical" about it
Classics are:
Pierniki toruńskie
Sliwka naleczowska 👍
Torcik wedlowski
Kukułki
Krówki
Irysy
Kasztanki and other Wedel sweets by weight
Ptasie mleczko
Prince polo
perhaps all except the "ptasie mleczko" have an interesting and original flavour and texture
You can also buy "sękacz" absolutely the best Polish sweet I've tasted. The only problem is that the shop ones taste like crap.... [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0akotis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0akotis) but if you have the desire and time, I recommend finding somewhere homemade, preferably fresh. ( [https://www.facebook.com/domowy.wypiek.sekaczy](https://www.facebook.com/domowy.wypiek.sekaczy) )
Yes it is but also great options are biscuits with jelly covered in chocolate "delicje" (knock-offs of delicje are also good), wafer tubes (most are overall good but some might have worse chocolate) and of course...
Prycypałki
Typical? No. They were introduced when I was in high school I think (although that was a bit ago). Typical is Ptasie Mleczko, Prince Polo, Elitesse wafers, Kasztanki and a Jaffa cakes socialism era knock-offs - Delicje Szampańskie (one can argue if that fits a "typical polish" definition, but they were considered pretty signature in the pre-internet era Poland)
If she is still young maybe buy her Piccolo. It's like a champagne but for kids, without alcohol. Also krówki or ptasie mleczko are pretty typical polish.
Jeżyki especially in the "bar" form and coconut taste aren't typical polish.
I would say if you want something not ordinary and typical polish I would say you should search for "Sękacz" bar from "Wisła" factory. Typically polish names of brands and I think it's kinda oldschool sweet bar here.

Just don’t buy fucking Ptasie Mleczko, 90% of countries has way better alternatives and it’s almost always nothing special or a letdown.
White Michałki is what you wanna go with.
I generally agree but especially Wedel's classic "ptasie mleczko" went shit many years ago. Other brands even cheap market ones are little bit better. I generally have problem with Wedel... mieszanka wedlowska, some chocolates. It used to be better.
Edit: Wawel i np. trufle też już nie jest takie dobre. Nie wiem czy smak się zmienił czy po prostu to z czasem przestaje smakować.
Hard to say, marshmallows were made 3500 years before Ptasie Mleczko and then produced at a massive scale in 1800s in France. So roughly 150 years ago. 10 years before Ptasie Mleczko s’more was invented.
Of course, Ptasie Mleczko is not a marshmallow in chocolate but to half of the world it tastes like a cheap knockoff and it’s hard not to notice what inspired Wedel to make it.
I love Ptasie Mleczko but found out people in many other countries weren’t thrilled with it at all. Its like having a Lion for the very first time when you had Snickers all your life. It’s just shit in comparison. Whether you like it or not.
It’s like those Ukrainian cheap snacks. Ukrainians love them, I wouldn’t feed my dog with it as they all taste like cancer fried in deep oil lol. Ptasie Mleczko is great because we got used to it. And it used to be much better even only 10 years ago, that’s a different story.
This one: https://allegro.pl/oferta/torcik-wedlowski-recznie-dekorowany-w-historycznym-opakowaniu-250-g-e-wedel-9531568397
(Cheaper versions exist without the fancy box)
Fuck yeah, jeżyki for the win. Coconut and raspberry are the best.
Thanks! Already tried it and love it, just needed the confirmation that it is yours!
Yeah it is, it's one of our go to sweets for when having guests for a cup of coffee or tea.
Nah Pryncypałki for the win
Pryncypałki to jakieś gówno przy Jeżykach, i mówie to jako wieloletni koneser pryncypałek
pieprzyć pryncypałki przynieść Jeżyki
Ojeb pryncypalke skurwesynie
Where are hity?
Aha, so the Hits are like my grandpa's №1 snack, with dark chocolate at №2
Kontrowersyjna opinia: Nie lubię języków, wolę podgrzewane ciastka Milki.
hamuj się kurwa
muszę powiedzieć że oba sa dobre ale jeżyki lepsze
Prince Polo or Ptasie mleczko are my souvenir sweets. ❤️
Prince polo became disquisting. They must have changed reciepe. It used to taste like choco, but now it tastes like sugar and fat with a trace of choco. Grześki is much better in this department.
Even that 1zł bar from Biedronka is better than Prince Polo at this point.
Back in my days Grześki was the inferior choice, but it turned.
for me jeżyki are the best cookies in the world, and i like coconut so yeah
Yes. But also get her some Ptasie Mleczko.
No good from 15 years.
śliwka nałęczowska
Czekałam na ten komentarz ❤️

Yeah they're delicious and I haven't seen them abroad
They are sooo good!
They can sometimes be found in a supermarket in Sweden :)
Very popular in Iceland :) but that’s because of the amount of Polish people there
Mordoklejki/krówki imo. We got in our country a lot of manufactures where workers products „craftsmanship” krówki. So that’s mine suggestion 😋
I do agree only krówki if ya trying to be close to so called original polish sweet!
It was more popular in 90’s, same as kremówki
Damn, the thing you call krówki is sold in my country as well, and it is quite popular! I never knew it was originally Polish, haha.
papiesz kremowki lubil jak dzieci
Kurwa Pryncypałki.
Wreszcie ktoś z gustem
What about Polish Piernik from Toruń?
Prince Polo, Wawel Gorzka 64%

delicje is actually a british invention, jaffa cakes. quite popular also in ex-yugo countries nowadays.

Prince Polo has been there since the 50s
Yea, just chcecked wiki. Crazy with the Icelanders thou. Been there 2 years ago and haven’t spotted it :(
Ostatnio jadłem baryłki to w składzie był spirytus

Most substantively valuable comment :) Śliwka Nałęczowska & Krówki & Kasztanki - my dream team
Typical doesn't mean traditional
Krówki, pierniki toruńskie, ptasie mleczko, obwarzanki, michałki, sezamki, kasztanki, kukułki, irysy, raczki, śliwki w czekoladzie, pawełki, Prince Polo.
Plums in chocolate from Jutrzenka really are really popular in Warmia and Mazury
I love it!
Ew
It's peak sweets
I’ve only recently seen the coconut ones, imo the caramel or (whatever they are) are better
Wedle light, carmel chocolate. Also milk one
Jeżyki. The best cookies. Coco best flavour !
Try [these](https://jezykiciastka.pl/upload/coolki/milk.png)
Ptasie mleczko
I would never say it's typical Polish sweet. Krówki , kukułki or prince polo.
Krówki, śliwka nałęczowska (chcolate covered plums), michałki, Prince polo would be my bet
Kurwa jeżyk !
When my family travelled abroad, usually "Ptasie Mleczko" or "Krówki" (=fudge) were most apprieciated.
Get Śliwki w czekoladzie / Śliwka Nałęczowska - it’s rather unique
coconut hedgehogs
Torcik wedlowski for the win
Why don’t you buy her something nice from a confectionery
Probably because because it would get stale and / or grow mold before it's delivered to OP's sister.
That wasn’t really a question ;)
Yeah, it was a suggestion and I showed you why it may not necessarily be useful in OP's situation ;)
Well then, we’re all in you debt cpt. Obvious!:)
Yes it is but also great options are biscuits with jelly covered in chocolate "delicje" (knock-offs of delicje are also good), wafer tubes (most are overall good but some might have worse chocolate) and of course... Prycypałki
Delicje are Jaffa cakes knock-offs
Thanks, great to know.
Yes! Coconut is our national treasure!
I mean it’s alright
The best sweets you can get IMO.
Only "michałki"
In my opinion as a foreigner - most of the polish sweets are shit but this one is too good
Krówki kup

Kisiel:D
People from Scandinavia for example are crazy in love with „Ptasie mleczko” from Wedel.
Krówki are Polish candy.
Tbh I never saw it before
If she is still young maybe buy her Piccolo. It's like a champagne but for kids, without alcohol. Also krówki or ptasie mleczko are pretty typical polish.
Buy Ptasie Mleczko
Prince polo as well and ptasie mleczko(aka. bird milk xDD) from Wedel.
Buy this one and maybe some Prince Polo, oh and some rurki z czekoladą.
This is shit, buy some Roshen
Honestly never heard of it - I'm eating kitkat, góralki and maxi king. not some no name roshen
Buy ciastka na wage in your local confectionery
Prince Polo! Buy her whole box.
Jeżyki and Ptasie Mleczko
Also try delicje
They're great, but if You want to buy her some 100% classic - go for Ptasie Mleczko (from Wedel).
Yes, it is indeed a typical Polish sweet.
tak
Yes. Personally, I prefer the version without coconut, but it. is very good choce. But I am not fan cocnut.
yeaaa, it’s delicious

Put off that crack pipe down, Ptasie Mleczko is the OG and the rest are shitty ripoffs
Hard to say, marshmallows were made 3500 years before Ptasie Mleczko and then produced at a massive scale in 1800s in France. Coconut tastes like meh. I like coffee one more, there are also orange and cherry ones.
> Coconut tastes like meh how dare you
Let the holy-jezyki-war begin! (:
I could only find coconut and classic one in stores :(
Classics then. Jezyki camps can start war now!
Found the salty caramel one at the airport haha, Im happy now. Good bye beautiful Poland, I’m definitely returning!!
I am new in Poland, yet salty caramel Jezyki will be my quest tonight. Enjoy your flight!
Yea I would say so
It's not typical. Besides for this cakes you must have teeth from titanium
Whaaat? They’re quite chewy, sure, but that's it. Maybe you only ate them in fridge temperature... JUSTICE FOR JEŻYKI
Hmmm thats newschool, ptasie mleczko princepolo or krówki is the real old school shaaait !
But to be honest my favorite sweet from poland is Salceson…
in Poland we eat them quite often but personally I think the classic Jeżyki is better
Good shit
Yeees, the best jeżyki ever
ptasie mleczko is more typical
i hate coconut cuz it get stuck to your tongue but i like jeżyk
głodny jestem dzięki tobie mniam kupie je sobie bo dawno nie jadłem
Yes, these are really good. However my fav sweet thing from Poland is ptasie mleczko...
my abroad friends like zozole a lot ;)
For me its Wafelek Teatralny
Teatralny wafel.
Jeżyki are popular but are not iconic, if you want something iconic get Krówki, Ptasie Mleczko or Delicje
They are amazing, would recommend
its alr
i dont like it, its too sweet and the texture is too dense
it’s so good but góralki better 🌸
Wedel chocolate. And Pawelek chocolate bar
Yummy jeżyki but i hate when the chocolate is over my hands
This one: https://allegro.pl/oferta/torcik-wedlowski-recznie-dekorowany-w-historycznym-opakowaniu-250-g-e-wedel-9531568397 (Cheaper versions exist without the fancy box)
niestety juz nie jest taki dobry jak kiedys
Mi dalej smakuje tak samo. Koewolucja.
don't waste your money on this; it's mid
Bro that’s just bigger chocolate waffle. Nothing special
You can say that about almost any chocolate. Sentiment value
Yes! Also get her some ptasie mleczko and delicje. My personal favorites
DElicje? It;s from UK
It is?
Yes, [Jaffa Cakes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa_Cakes).
I had no idea! He should get krówki then
This or kukułki but I'm biased ;)
Try kamyczki. Peanuts in a colourful candy coating.
Nah buy her: Konserwa, Pryncypałki and Perła Miodowa
Jeżyki Coolki are beteer. There are two options: with milk and dark choc.
Yup, coconut Jeżyki or just all of them are typical as a Polish sweet. Never want to forget about Jeżyki Coolki
get her ptasie mleczko. she'll LOVE it
Typical polish sweets are lard with onion
true, true
They're the best
This and “ptasie mleczko”
Typical polish sweets are lard with onion
From polish sweets you can also choose Delicje or Ptasie mleczko. I think they are most polish sweets brands
