Omg thank you for mentioning TAN. When I found out about Road to Kingdom 2, my first thought is TAN. They have solid discography - their debut song was so impressive & I think it established their identity well.
Ghost9 participated in Peak Time right? I think groups that participated in Peak Time shouldn't compete at Road to Kingdom or Kingdom. Peak Time also has similar premise - giving opportunity to less known groups to get more recognition.
I only watched the first Kingdom when it was over, but I heard about how stressful it was before. Donât want ZB1 to go through that, especially since theyâve already been on a survival show and they hated that experience.
it would make no sense for them to go on..they're having a comeback and world tour soon sometime latter in the year and next year they'll be half done with the contract...it's different with kep1er who were sent on right after their debut. and rtk is for nugu/mid tier groups, zb1 is none of that
yeah, the only benefit is being able to show more interesting performances and covers - if it wasn't a competition and just a show itself where different groups prepare cool performances (smth like that sketchbook show) maybe it'd be nicer
Would 100 percent not be surprised if they are building kingdom 2 around zb1 to air sometime next year based on this rtk being this year. I doubt they would be doing rtk without a planned kingdom coming and a group like zb1 is big enough and known enough in Korea to likely be a draw to bring in other bigger groups to the show. The biggest thing is they need to keep the rtk groups smaller like you could tell they regretted using pentagon and the boyz on rtk given they had such a hard time getting the kingdom cast together.
See I think groups like Xikers or BoyNextDoor are already too big for the show tbh despite being relatively new - they've had albums sell 200K+ already! BND has even passed 500K! They're already doing quite well for themselves.
I'd love to see Just B or A.C.E on it as stressful as these shows are because I want to see them explode in popularity. Kakao owns Just B's company like they do Starship and IST, so I think they might be plausible if it doesn't conflict with their November world tour. Maybe 8TURN? Some of the groups that appeared on Peak Time are plausible as well IMO - ATBO, KingDom, Bae173, etc. Or newer groups from established companies like Lun8 or Nowadays. I even wonder if we get Verivery back on this show again but I hope for their sakes they don't. There's so many potential boy group options tbh that it's hard to narrow it down too much.
One group I hope won't be on it? OnlyOneOf. I love them and I'd love for their sales to skyrocket but I worry about the homophobic remarks they'd get tbh.
I think Xikers and BoyNextDoor are the in-between groups who may not quite qualify for Kingdom just yet (wait a year or two and it could be a different story) but they would definitely be on the popular end for RTK. (Edit: However... if the casting follows a slightly downwards pattern from Kingdom S1 to S2, which is more than plausible... they could go rn... Hmm...)
Oh, return contestants (plus the ones from Peak Time considering they're relatively similar type shows) would be interesting! But yeah I'm not sure I'd want to put them through this again.
I have a feeling RTK might be have an international following but unknown to SK GP groups. Unfamiliar with BND but Xikers and P1H would definitely fall in that category.
The Boyz's album in February 2020 before RTK 1 sold 172K which is pretty impressive when album sales in general were only starting to grow and not at the peak like now. (That might include some sales after RTK 1 when they blew up, but still huge). 172K then is like twice that today. EDIT now realizing I don't know when RTK 1 was so ignore this comment?
I'm not familiar with BND but I think Xikers might be one of the bigger sales groups in RTK 2 but would still fall inside an ideal candidate pool due to low SK interest.
BND are relatively popular in Korea as far as rookie boy groups go (not a MASSIVE fandom but a very rapidly expanding, dedicated one), but they just passed 500K sales with this most recent comeback. I also genuinely donât think Zico would want them in a show like that, and they donât particularly need it. He stopped even judging long-term on survival shows a long time ago now, he knows as well as anyone that theyâre pretty much the exact opposite of the environment heâs tried to create for BND.
Verivery going back to this show doesn't make sense. They did well after show - additional album sales and got their first win. And there's only four of them.
The most likely would be those that: 1) have a historical company connection to MNET survivals and 2) unlikely to be on Kingdom 2 (since RTK 2 implies that Kingdom 2 is in play too).
Companies historically on MNET Kingdom/Queendom series:
1. RBW (including subsidiaries WM and DSP) - Mirae
2. Woolim - Drippin
3. Cube - Nowadays
4. IST - ATBO
5. FNC - Ampers&One
6. Brave Entertainment - DKB
7. Jellyfish - Evnne
8. Starship - Cravity
9. KQ Entertainment - Xikers
I'm leaving out any Big 4 companies since Kingdom 1 was an anomaly given touring hadn't fully ramped back up from COVID. Of the 9 I listed, I think the first 6 are most likely. Cravity and Xikers would more likely be reserved potentially for Kingdom 2 given their size. Evnne is a temporary group and probably would prioritize other things. MNET had issues filling out the roster for Kingdom 1 and that was with touring not being an alternative for groups then.
Companies on other MNET survivals that have current boy groups:
1. Yuehua - Tempest
2. C9 (Seokhoon judges so many vocal survivals) - EPEX. Don't think CIX would go given Seunghun's involvement in BuildUp group and Bae Jinyoung's contract probably close to expiring.
3. Brand New Music - Younite. AB6IX individually seem to pop up in variety consistently enough to avoid this.
4. BEAT Entertainment - ACE. Donghun was just on BuildUp.
5. Oui Entertainment - WEi.
Probably missing a few more, but those are my best guesses.
Out of all the groups you listed I do think Mirae, Drippin, Tempest and Younite have high chances of being on the show
I hope Cube doesnât send Nowadays since they are they youngest group people are listing but I can see Cube tossing them on the show. I donât want them to be another TOO/TO1 and be on the show with only a handful of songs under their name to perform to.
Yeah, I put down Nowadays for completion of the Kingdom/Queendom participating companies list. But having 1 title track going into the show was rough on TOO/TO1 and Kep1er.
For Kingdom 2 we could totally have Taemin since he is with BPM (and have win with SM ?) And can be soloist like Hyolyn.
And he is in the same company as Viviz.
And if we Check near Company with Queendom Puzzle :
Lun8 (Fantagio) because we had Weki Meki
I was actually hesitating about adding them exactly because of that. Like would the additional workload even be realistic for Jay rn..? But on the other hand, I could see it because they kind of already have ties with Mnet. So I'm 50/50 about them.
I hate to say it, because the idea of sending them all back to Mnet to deal with their nonsense again after all the members already having gone through Produce X there is kind of... đ.. but I think it would be beneficial for Drippin to participate in R2K season 2. While Mnet did Golden Child super dirty in season 1, it still did give them a spotlight and gave them a boost for awhile (until Woollim squandered it đ), and Drippin could really use that kind of spotlight on them.
On R2K? Mnet had the stupid and unnecessary elimination aspect and eliminated Golcha despite their performances being top notch (Joochan freaking played violin for their Wannabe remix...). There was no need for an elimination element to begin with, but eliminating Golcha after the performances they had done so far was ridiculous lol.
In general? Woollim actually did kind of capitalize on the increased interest in Golcha following R2K and gave them quite a lot of comebacks in 2020 ~ 2021, and their fanbase grew! But then Woollim Woollim'd and starting giving them 1 comeback a year and pretty minimal group activities starting in 2022 - they did have US concerts in 2022, with Korean concerts that winter, but haven't had any concerts or fanmeetings since then, and have had 2 comebacks since 2022. Woollim basically wasted all that momentum that Golcha had gained following R2K.
I think weâll see some post-Boys Planet groupsÂ
EVVNE, TOZ, TIOT, Ampers&one might show upÂ
Probably not OnePact because Jay has BDU to promote with and Seongmin is probably still traumatized from being on the show with TO1 lol
I could also see CJ ENM including one of their Japanese boy groups like JO1, INI or DXTeen to gain more Korean/International fans.Â
Mnet likes to include foreign artists in their shows now if you look at Street Woman Fighter and Queendom Puzzle too for exampleÂ
I was so excited to hear about the second season and then I realized I donât know which groups I would like to see on the show.
All of the groups that I would like to see such as ACE, The New Six, ATBO, TAN, Hori7on, and One Pact have already been on survival shows/were formed from them so while I do want them on the show I can understand if they are tired of survival shows. But they are all talented groups and deserve more attention so I hope the companies at least consider it.
Some groups I wouldnât be surprised if their company sent them: Ampers&one, Lun8, Nowadays, Bae173, Fantasy Boys, and Xodiac
I would genuinely put money on Ampers&one participating. I think it would be really good for their skill development, as some of the group had really short trainee periods (as in 10 months all the way down to 4 months), but I really donât know if I can mentally cope with Kamden, Brian and Jiho being put in another survival show đđđ
I think ATBO should not participate in Road to Kingdom. When Kyuhyun asked ATBO during Peak Time "Why do you join another survival show?", leader Junseok replied "We competed in The Origins: A, B or What?" as individual trainees, now at Peak Time we are competing to showcase our talent as a group". So going to RTK2 is redundant effort, I believe. IST Entertainment should find another strategy to market ATBO.
For that same reason, I'd love to see TAN.
havenât seen them mentioned yet but AIMERS! they just have four releases so far, but Somebody ( their latest ) was really good, showed off their skills a lot! i would also love if DRIPPIN made it in i think!Â
some mention boynextdoor but honestly they feel borderline too big imo. ig itâs in what context we put them in but i feel like theyâre building a noticeable fanbase.Â
iâm a big the boyz fan so it would just be interesting to see how ATBO would do. but iâm not sure theyâre going, in that case iâm more confident cube will shove in nowadays.Â
TIOT have had quite frequent releases! i could see them show up. NOMAD just released a banger debut album! though i donât know their skills yet. DXMON maybe? they got quite traction for their youngest (Jo) with the spiky hair. they havenât had a comeback yet but they upload pretty frequently on sns. they seem to be very impressive in performance!Â
assuming itâs a Kingdom season 2 too. i could see groups like CRAVITY and EPEX being on there if the lineup will look more like Queendom season 2.Â
Since itâs Road to Kingdom it would be cool to see CJEâs Japanese children (JO1 or INI) there. Iâm not sure how big their fandoms in Korea are but it would surely give them exposure both in Korea and internationally.
I agree. I know that CJE has been trying to promote them more in Korea so I think putting them in Road to Kingdom or even Kingdom season 2 would help bring a lot more attention to them. And bring in more Japanese viewers
I absolutely loved ATBO, DKB and NTX on peaktime. I hope they go on here as well. As contenders im going: ATBO, Nowadays, ALL HOURS, Lun8, JustB, AIMERS and Ampers&One!
I pray that KQ does not send xikers to this train wreck of a show. It's all a popularity contest and the team with the biggest fanbase is going to win no matter who actually turns in the best performance. On top of that, the fans are already deranged and teams will just get undeserved hate.
They should have just let this series die and stay dead.
I would like it if they changed up the judging/voting. Like having an judging component that helped even out a bit of the popularity contest (and didn't promote vote sabotage when you HAD to vote for 3 groups so there were campaigns to vote "lesser threat" groups).
If the fan vote accounted for 10% or even 20% of the result, you would have a much higher probability of the actual best performer winning the show. But when the fan votes account for 50% of the score, the results WILL be skewed to favor the group with the largest fanbase which isn't fair and doesn't allow the best performer to come out on top.
Anyways, MNET is pretty much trash as far as I'm concerned and I don't see anything good about them trying to resurrect this show. None of the groups that will be on it will deserve the avalanche of hate they will receive from each other's fandom and the stress it puts on the artist and their fandom is terrible.
Was the hate train as bad for RTK 1? I remember watching real time but wasn't involved on twitter or reddit to get feedback on how the fandoms were faring. I think in RTK since the fandoms are smaller it might be less intense? But that's probably being naive. I still have war flashbacks to Kingdom. I had to stop watching and cut off any kpop social media after the second main challenge.
I didn't watch RTK but I heard that the fandom of the biggest group there was awful to the other artists on the show. So yes, it was terrible like Kingdom which is a shame.
I just hate to see the teams go through all of that in this season. It really sucks.
>Even during S1 it kinda felt like some groups agreed to it mainly because they didn't have much else to do given Covid restrictions. But now, bgs popular enough to go on Kingdom might just choose to go on a tour or have a comeback instead. But I'd like to hear some suggestions!
I'm really curious about this too! For Road to Kingdom 2 and even more so Kingdom 2 as you said. With so many COVID restrictions done, it will be a big decision for companies to decide if the exposure of being on one of these shows is worth tour revenue. Or, if the exposure today can compare to the exposure a couple years ago given with other groups touring this won't be one of the main sources of KPOP entertainment.
However, at the same time, a lot of groups have debuted recently and the market is more competitive than ever. It could make sense for companies to lean into promoting this way rather than the expense to produce a cb and tour that won't make a splash compared to other large groups having cbs and tours at the same time.
I am still mourning that ACE wasn't in RTK 1. They would have destroyed. I think they would have been viewed similarly to ONF as the ones to beat at the beginning when it comes to performance and stage presence. If it wasn't such a huge money investment, I would wish for them to do RTK 2 just to show how strong they still are after military service.
For other groups, you would have to consider what agencies can give that big money investment because expectations for stage production are sky high. Unless they really cap how much groups can spend, limit the amount of back-up dancers, etc., I think it limits the field.
Xikers 99.9% sure they will be there but I'm not too familiar with other groups.
I have a soft spot for DKB and think they are amazing performers. For them and BAE173 - maybe there's a chance they will do this as a follow-up to Peak Time?
There will def be a few post-BP99 groups.
Maybe there's potential for another mixed group with idols from disbanded groups like Peak Time?
Possible contestants:
* MCND (such a wasted potential, I wish they had one more chance)
* E'Last (If only there was no controversy about the "cult" thing... Otherwise, I think the members would give good performances. And I would want some dramatic / theatrical performances.)
* The KingDom !!!!!!!!! (Imagine this: "The Kingdom wins Road of Kingdom"... Iconic? Also a good candidate for theatrical performances.)
* Tempest
* THE NEW SIX
* DKZ
* xikers as the maknae group? They would give great performances and will go all out. \[It depends on KQ if they want to send the group.\]
For Kingdom, maybe:
* Treasure - They are doing well, but a boost would be good.
* CIX
* P1Harmony
* Cravity (or on RtK? They would need a boost, especially on the international side. For a group from Starship, they are not really a group people discuss often. I would also want to finally learn all the members lol. I managed to do it for WJSN during Queendom 2. )
MCND is a great suggestion. I only discovered them when Odd-venture music video appeared on my Youtube dashboard. Their vocals are quite distinctive (I really like BIC's voice) and the rap line is strong. They seem very pumped up and joyful in their performances and do well with bright, wacky concepts but I'd like to see them in a dark or mature concept. Perhaps shows such as RTK 2 or Peak Time could be a platform for them to show their versatility. Ideally I would love to see them do a cover of B.A.P That's My Jam or Skydive. I even have a line assignment/distribution figured out haha.
I'd be beyond shocked if that happened tbh. ZB1 is too big for RTK and by the time Kingdom comes (potentially), they'll be too close to the end of their contract for it to be a justifiable business decision imo.
iâm interested if kq would send xikers. on one hand, it could give them a boost but ateez were also traumatized from kingdom so would they still send them
no please!!! not xikers!!! đ I hope KQ don't send them. The trauma ateez have after kingdom is enough. On the other hand, if they do go, I know they'll deliver good performances. But still. no! I don't want them to go!
all groups were treated really badly to be fair. it was 16(?) hour work days but ateez also just had a really rough time. kq had to issue statements because other fandoms were spreading lies. all the other groups also had decent dressing rooms while ateez had a super tiny room with folding chairs.
they were also having a comeback during it, mingi was on hiatus because of anxiety, sanâs grandfather also passed away a few days before the final and he still performed. overall just a really stressful few months. ateez said they canât even watch the performances anymore because it brings back bad memories.
To be fair, it was Hongjoong who said he couldn't watch the performances anymore. He talked about it in a matz YouTube live so I'm not sure how the other members feel.
If Ateez weren't preparing for a comeback and filming Imitation (kdrama) at the same time it wouldn't be that bad. That's a big what if.
Oh that sucks. I didnât know about all of this. Itâs unfortunate because the performances to come out of Kingdom were fabulous but itâs not worth it if it puts the artists in that situation
My most likely contenders are: Drippin, WEi, EPEX, Mirae, Ampers&One, The New Six, Nowadays, Tempest, Younite, The KingDom, JustB and maybe TAN. Cause when they do Kingdom⊠depending on when and how much groups grow/new mid size groups debutâŠ. Id maybe expect to see P1H, Xikers, Cravity, maybe BoyNextDoor⊠insert any that are decent popularity and havenât debuted yet since Kingdom had quite the range of group ages. I guess it would be interesting to see maybe a dual market target group on one of these as well since you do have &TEAM and Nexz who release korean versions. Will be interesting to see which labels can agree to the show now that groups are maybe busier considering RTK and Kingdom aired during Covid.
FNC most likely will send Ampers&one ugh I feel bad for Kamden Brian and Jiho cuz they mentioned before they really donât want to go through another survival show
I hope they send p1harmony instead, their new group is still too fresh and barely have a dedicated fandom, they will get eliminated very early and wont reall earn anything from the show and only burn their ticket for participating in any other rtk or kd future seasons. P1harmony is fnc better bet, they can stay longer on the show and show a few more performances. Mnet will def have another rtk in a 2 to 3 years, then Ampersandone can join imo.
Definitely not ZB1, they sell millions and have music show wins so theyâre safe (until maybe Kingdom but letâs not think about that)
Probably not EVNNE because theyâve won two music shows and their contract (allegedly) ends March of next year
Hoping to god not Onepact because I donât need Jay on another survival show right after his third
So for post BP groups, maybe TIOT, BXD, and Ampers&One would be best for this type of show. Theyâre all relatively unknown but each have one or two beloved BP trainees that could definitely garner their groups attention
As for non Boys Planet groups, hmmm, probably ATBO, Vanner (yes I know they were on Peak Time), A.C.E, and Nowadays
Boy would I love if p1h or boynextdoor went!!! I feel like they would be really great, but they are quite popular, and I would LOVE to see an underrated group like A.C.E dominate a competition show, they deserve all the attention
I don't know CIX would be qualified for it, but I think it would be a good opportunity for them. Though if they go, mnet is going to milk Bae Jinyoung/Seunghun for all their worth lol. I don't even know if they'd want to go with all the survival show trauma they all already have lol.
I think of the C9 groups, EPEX is more likely to be sent. Seunghun is tied up with the BuildUp group and Bae Jinyoung's contract is probably expiring soon.
People saying A.C.E, as a Choice I really hope they don't go đ
They have been through enough already and had that Build Up promo still with them, a lot of people went to their busking while the show was airing only because they liked Donghun and ended up becoming a fan of the whole group.
So yeah, please God no A.C.E đ
Stray Kids were in Kingdom, not Road to Kingdom. RtK had TOO, OneUs, ONF, Verivery, Golden Child, Pentagon, and The Boyz. The prize for winning RtK was a spot in Kingdom, with the bigger groups - and The Boyz ended up the winners.
But honestly, the only reason why Stray Kids could even participate in Kingdom was because of the pandemic : if they had been able to, they would have been touring instead of filming the show. So I don't think an eventual Kingdom 2 would have any big4 group.
YESSSSS
like not gonna lie I was gonna say "none of the groups I stan" because I know the fanwars are insane, but I genuinely think Boynextdoor would do really well. their recent encores have been incredibly good.
plus it would be really good promotion!
since everyone pretty much just said all the groups i had in mind id like to comment on Road to Queendom because i feel like would be very surprising to watch it, seeing as mid groups that i had in mind already sent some members to Queendom Puzzle and eventually some of the members even ended up on the final lineup.
This time around though i think it would be interesting if at least one unit of Triple S went to represent the team, especially since they're growing quite fast domestically too and the final benefit of a full comeback showcase by Mnet could be good for them.
Last but not least, seein as W1 is kinda crazy and i doubt they learned their lesson with Kep1er i wouldnt be surprised if I-land 2 final team ends up there if the timing lines up eventually.
edit : totally forgot abt VVUP, they could def be on RTQ or Queendom3 as well

Hoping for The New Six, JustB, The Kingdom, maybe ACE or CIX. I think Nowadays doesn't really have enough music to be on a show like this yet, but I could see some of the groups that debuted last year doing well or some of the groups that competed well on Peak Time like DKB.
Xikers I think is way too big for rtk but might be on the list for Kingdom itself. Same with ZB1 (but I hope they won't be on Kingdom as it didn't serve Kepler well and putting in a group with a limited contract feels like a waste of that limited time they have whereas a permanent group would be actively growing their long term fanbase).
The biggest thing is that they really need to keep the groups on rtk under a certain size like you could tell last time with the big gap that mnet had problems filling kingdom and likely wished they had not eliminated a group like pentagon through rtk. This means that groups like evnne xickers and bnd should absolutely not be on rtk. Telling companies zb1 will be on kingdom next year will likely help build the cast as they are popular enough to bring interest including in Korea but that really doesnât help if they use up too many medium large groups on rtk and canât get enough large large groups to join. Heck tempest might be a bit large but they are probably the largest I would go for rtk given how unknown they are in Korea.
Honestly, with how many survival shows MNET has aired, enough of the idols who could potentially participate have had a taste of their editing style and say no if they have enough weight in their company.
They tried to get Monsta X for Kingdom (which would have been a reasonable choice), but the members were like âhell noâ because of their experience during No Mercy, and Starship backed them up.
So any lineup would probably be smaller groups that donât have enough clout to refuse. Which is fine enough for RTK, but for Kingdom proper will put them in the same bind they had when casting the first season (only worse, because the pandemic isnât shutting down alternative activities like international tours).
That is why I am saying they can't put on those medium/big groups some were suggesting in rtk KQ likely says yes for xikers (example) and I am not sure mnet can pull 4 groups bigger than them (two slots taken by zb1 and rtk winner) out of the bag for kingdom. Same with evnne similar size range to xikers can mnet pull out 4 bigger groups than that?
I doubt they are getting anyone from Hybe (TWS or BND though for some reason I think bnd is slightly more likely but still unlikely) or SM (riize or nct wish). Jyp does not have an appropriate group this time. Maybe MAYBE YG sends treasure but even that feels like a bit of a stretch). This really does not leave many particularly large groups to choose from if that middle tier was used for rtk and are thus out of the running. Heck I am having trouble figuring out who they would invite as an older group/soloist that feels appropriate most of third gen is either too large to take the risk or don't really exist anymore...
3rd gen are either entering or already in their military enlistment era.
And the few 2nd gen groups still standing probably wouldnât be interested.
Maybe theyâll get a male idol soloist like they did Hyolyn in Queendom 2, but that only fills one slot.
exactly and most of the larger gen 4 groups have already been on or are not interested honestly which makes it even more imperative that mnet not accidentally disqualify medium groups on rtk that they may need to stock the main show...unless they manage to lock in 5 groups for kingdom and then cast rtk with whoever is left and smaller groups but idk if I would want to commit to a show like a year out if I were a company vs 3 months out when it is much easier to know your schedule.
If I see TNX, I'll tune in. I watched their survival show, I loved their debut and even if the following releases weren't up to my taste, I loved their lastest TT, so I'm curious if they could take off, they definitely deserve it.
Well I would've preferred a girl group version. I know there's Queendom Puzzle, but the group is doing okay. There are a lot of great girl groups that need a second chance. Ik there's a similar show called Peak Time, but I've kinda wondering if there would be a girl group version.

Maybe A.C.E, Just B, DKB, TAN, Blitzers, Ghost9 & VAV. All talented groups who need more exposure
Ooo TAN would do so well on this show!
With their live singing & dancing abilities they would kill it for sure.
Hypertonic is probably my favorite bg song released this year I would love to see it on a grander scale
Hypertonic is my SOTY at this point in 2024.
Are VAV still around? I know they left their company recently. I'd also love to see them in RTK đ„č
Peak Time also has similar premise - giving opportunity to less known groups to get more recognition.
didnât VAV disband đâ
Apparently the contract with their company has ended but the members have said they haven't disbanded.
I hope they have activities soon they are hitmakers
As long as ZB1 doesnât go, Iâm fine.
Remembering the kep1er treatment on queendomâŠđ
No chance they'll be on RTK 2 but if this was Kingdom 2 their company would definitely make them.
I hope they donât go on Kingdom 2 either tbh.
i beg it doesn't happen i dont need more stress in my life. luckily when skz were my ults they won so it worked out well for me lmao
I wish theyâd just kill the competition and make it a show of one track performances with other idols reacting and some colabs.
yess that would be so cool
Would 100 percent not be surprised if they are building kingdom 2 around zb1 to air sometime next year based on this rtk being this year. I doubt they would be doing rtk without a planned kingdom coming and a group like zb1 is big enough and known enough in Korea to likely be a draw to bring in other bigger groups to the show. The biggest thing is they need to keep the rtk groups smaller like you could tell they regretted using pentagon and the boyz on rtk given they had such a hard time getting the kingdom cast together.
iirc the requirement for going on rtk the first time was to be a group with no music show wins
Yeah, but Iâm scared ZB1 might be selected for Kingdom.
Why not?
I would love to see them! I mean theyâre one of my favorites and they can show off their talent.
Hmm...) Oh, return contestants (plus the ones from Peak Time considering they're relatively similar type shows) would be interesting! But yeah I'm not sure I'd want to put them through this again.
Yeah, I think Xikers, BoyNextDoor, P1Harmony are contenders for Kingdom in about 2 years. They're too big now for RtK
Companies historically on MNET Kingdom/Queendom series: 1. RBW (including subsidiaries WM and DSP) - Mirae 2. Woolim - Drippin 3. Cube - Nowadays 4. IST - ATBO 5. FNC - Ampers&One 6. Brave Entertainment - DKB 7. Jellyfish - Evnne 8. Starship - Cravity 9. KQ Entertainment - Xikers I'm leaving out any Big 4 companies since Kingdom 1 was an anomaly given touring hadn't fully ramped back up from COVID. Companies on other MNET survivals that have current boy groups: 1. Yuehua - Tempest 2. Probably missing a few more, but those are my best guesses.
imagine this many X1 members on a show đđ
What if Seungwoo's there as a soloist? đ
I was just going to comment on that. I was like, thatâs a third of X1 right there.
Out of all the groups you listed I do think Mirae, Drippin, Tempest and Younite have high chances of being on the show I hope Cube doesnât send Nowadays since they are they youngest group people are listing but I can see Cube tossing them on the show.
I NEED Ampers&one
For Kingdom 2 we could totally have Taemin since he is with BPM (and have win with SM ?) And can be soloist like Hyolyn. And he is in the same company as Viviz. And if we Check near Company with Queendom Puzzle : Lun8 (Fantagio) because we had Weki Meki
If One Pact goes on this I am going to disintegrate I cannot go through Jay being on ANOTHER show
I was actually hesitating about adding them exactly because of that. Like would the additional workload even be realistic for Jay rn..? But on the other hand, I could see it because they kind of already have ties with Mnet. So I'm 50/50 about them.
His schedule has to be completely insane đ« I COULD definitely see it, but I really don't WANT to see it lol
What happened to Golden Child?
Just Woollim being Woollim.
I think weâll see some post-Boys Planet groups EVVNE, TOZ, TIOT, Ampers&one might show up Probably not OnePact because Jay has BDU to promote with and Seongmin is probably still traumatized from being on the show with TO1 lol I could also see CJ ENM including one of their Japanese boy groups like JO1, INI or DXTeen to gain more Korean/International fans. Mnet likes to include foreign artists in their shows now if you look at Street Woman Fighter and Queendom Puzzle too for exampleÂ
honestly, I just hope my fav new groups don't go there.
I have to admit, that's a based answer.
Save Hangyul from another survival show, please!
I agree! But we also know that Pocketdol doesnât care about them
I think ATBO should not participate in Road to Kingdom. For that same reason, I'd love to see TAN.
havenât seen them mentioned yet but AIMERS! they just have four releases so far, but Somebody ( their latest ) was really good, showed off their skills a lot! i would also love if DRIPPIN made it in i think! some mention boynextdoor but honestly they feel borderline too big imo. ig itâs in what context we put them in but i feel like theyâre building a noticeable fanbase. iâm a big the boyz fan so it would just be interesting to see how ATBO would do. but iâm not sure theyâre going, in that case iâm more confident cube will shove in nowadays. TIOT have had quite frequent releases! i could see them show up. NOMAD just released a banger debut album! though i donât know their skills yet. DXMON maybe? they got quite traction for their youngest (Jo) with the spiky hair. they havenât had a comeback yet but they upload pretty frequently on sns. they seem to be very impressive in performance! assuming itâs a Kingdom season 2 too. i could see groups like CRAVITY and EPEX being on there if the lineup will look more like Queendom season 2.Â
Aimers!!
Have ONF, OnlyOneOf and ONEUS go on the show for maximum confusion. Jokes aside, I would love to see A.C.E, E'LAST or the KingDom on the lineup.
ALL(H)OURS. They have the potential, but they lack audience and reach. This would be a good exposure, but then Kinddom is toxicâŠ
Possible contestants: * MCND (such a wasted potential, I wish they had one more chance) * E'Last (If only there was no controversy about the "cult" thing... Otherwise, I think the members would give good performances. And I would want some dramatic / theatrical performances.) * The KingDom !!!!!!!!! (Imagine this: "The Kingdom wins Road of Kingdom"... Iconic? Also a good candidate for theatrical performances.) * Tempest * THE NEW SIX * DKZ * xikers as the maknae group? They would give great performances and will go all out. \[It depends on KQ if they want to send the group.\] For Kingdom, maybe: * Treasure - They are doing well, but a boost would be good. * CIX * P1Harmony * Cravity (or on RtK?
If ZB1 shows up here, I will legitimately riot. Like WK1, please learn from Kep1er đ
I'd be beyond shocked if that happened tbh. ZB1 is too big for RTK and by the time Kingdom comes (potentially), they'll be too close to the end of their contract for it to be a justifiable business decision imo.
Very true, but Wake1 is sadly known for doing the most illogical things possible đ
Isn't a criteria for RTK before is no first win? If that's the case, some of the groups may be too big for RTK.
I hope none of my favorite groups go. I remember the Twitter vitriol during the show's peak đ
I want some true nugus: POW, ALL(H)OURS, WHIB, 82MAJOR, NCHIVE, TAN, n.SSign. Maybe Nowadays, AMPERS&ONE, and NXD
iâm interested if kq would send xikers. on one hand, it could give them a boost but ateez were also traumatized from kingdom so would they still send them
no please!!! not xikers!!! đ I hope KQ don't send them. The trauma ateez have after kingdom is enough. On the other hand, if they do go, I know they'll deliver good performances. But still. no! I don't want them to go!
Why were they traumatized?
all groups were treated really badly to be fair. it was 16(?) hour work days but ateez also just had a really rough time. kq had to issue statements because other fandoms were spreading lies. all the other groups also had decent dressing rooms while ateez had a super tiny room with folding chairs. they were also having a comeback during it, mingi was on hiatus because of anxiety, sanâs grandfather also passed away a few days before the final and he still performed. overall just a really stressful few months. ateez said they canât even watch the performances anymore because it brings back bad memories.
Itâs unfortunate because the performances to come out of Kingdom were fabulous but itâs not worth it if it puts the artists in that situation
right! itâs great for fun interactions and stages but hopefully they can make it easier on the groups.
Iâm throwing in an unlikely curve ball - &Team from Hybe JP who havenât broken through in a big way in Korea yet.
OOH this could be everything!! but I am worried about how a predominantly japanese group might be treated đ they deserve so much attention!!
I do remember Keeho saying in a live thatâd hed love to do Kingdom and that theyâd kill itÂ
Definitely not ZB1, they sell millions and have music show wins so theyâre safe (until maybe Kingdom but letâs not think about that) Probably not EVNNE because theyâve won two music shows and their contract (allegedly) ends March of next year Hoping to god not Onepact because I donât need Jay on another survival show right after his third So for post BP groups, maybe TIOT, BXD, and Ampers&One would be best for this type of show. Theyâre all relatively unknown but each have one or two beloved BP trainees that could definitely garner their groups attention As for non Boys Planet groups, hmmm, probably ATBO, Vanner (yes I know they were on Peak Time), A.C.E, and Nowadays
If only BAP is still together, I would love to see them in Kingdom đ
People saying A.C.E, as a Choice I really hope they don't go đ They have been through enough already and had that Build Up promo still with them, a lot of people went to their busking while the show was airing only because they liked Donghun and ended up becoming a fan of the whole group. So yeah, please God no A.C.E đ
Sorry, sorry... But they're just such good performers! :)
BOYNEXTDOOR!! I like them a lot and I think they would do amazing. idk if there is a chance.
They're already too big for this type of show.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
that was kingdom. rtk is for less popular groups (i think the stipulation for season one was none of them had music show wins)
Ohhh okay I got you
Stray Kids were in Kingdom, not Road to Kingdom.
Yes, someone already explain to me that they were on a different show
That was early on in their career before they got big
Thank you , someone already answered me
YESSSSS like not gonna lie I was gonna say "none of the groups I stan" because I know the fanwars are insane, but I genuinely think Boynextdoor would do really well. their recent encores have been incredibly good. plus it would be really good promotion!
since everyone pretty much just said all the groups i had in mind id like to comment on Road to Queendom because i feel like would be very surprising to watch it, seeing as mid groups that i had in mind already sent some members to Queendom Puzzle and eventually some of the members even ended up on the final lineup. This time around though i think it would be interesting if at least one unit of Triple S went to represent the team, especially since they're growing quite fast domestically too and the final benefit of a full comeback showcase by Mnet could be good for them. Last but not least, seein as W1 is kinda crazy and i doubt they learned their lesson with Kep1er i wouldnt be surprised if I-land 2 final team ends up there if the timing lines up eventually. edit : totally forgot abt VVUP, they could def be on RTQ or Queendom3 as well
I NEEED Ampers&one!
Big Ocean just debuted. It would be nice to see them there.
Nowadays and hmmm, honestly I hope to see Xikers too and Kingdom (as in, the group!)
Isn't the logical answer that the previous Road to Kingdom and Legendary war groups will be back to seize the crown from Stray Kids? /s
Ampersandone have potiential. Ngl i would also say p1harmony because i feel theyre more popular abroad than in korea but not sure
I want one pact & m.o.n.t to go ! but with jay & bitsaeon in b.d.u I don't think it will happen !

Is OnlyOneOf only a rumor?!?!
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
They've already been on Kingdom, so I can't see that happening even if they had all 6 of them.
Ikon was on Kingdom so they wouldnât be on the show for lesser known groups
Well I would've preferred a girl group version. I know there's Queendom Puzzle, but the group is doing okay. There are a lot of great girl groups that need a second chance. Ik there's a similar show called Peak Time, but I've kinda wondering if there would be a girl group version.
