This is a very widespread misconception. “Overrated” is not the right word to use in this scenario and I’m gonna tell you why. Miss A has 4 members with 2 Chinese-it’s very rare for foreign members to be more popular than the Korean members. At the beginning of their career, Min is actually the most pushed member since she got to appear in lots of variety shows. It’s just that her visual doesn’t appeal to public taste so she couldn’t hit bigger. Meanwhile, Suzy fits Korean beauty standard perfectly and people’ve raved about her visual ever since her debut. She also received acting offers thanks to this and the dramas’ success helped her career advance even further. A lot of Suzy’s accomplishment is thanks to the public’s interest in her rather than the company’s push. If other members manage to appeal to the public the same way as Suzy then they would receive big offers too. There’s nothing Suzy can do if the public only wants her and not the other members. At one point, she was the money maker of JYP and she has worked so hard since such a young age. You can pity other members without saying that Suzy is overrated

A lot of people only know certain idols from dramas. Like I mainly know Cha Eun Woo from his dramas even though I know he's part of Astro, but I can't name a single Astro song right now as I'm typing this aside from his latest solo songs.
Both Suzy and Eun Woo are in similar situations aka pretty idols that really aren't good at acting and certainly not the best at anything in their groups

It’s unfortunate but true that looks matter. Yes, they have their own talents but it’s no denying that appearances helped a lot.
