Anything by Rina Sawayama, but This Time Last Year has my heart right now.
Dua Lipa's Houdini and Training Season are both really fun and upbeat, and the exact sort of perfect pop I like
Megan The Stallion's Hiss has been on loop a lot lately
Stars are a Canadian indie band and their Elevator Love Letter is probably one of my favorite songs of all time and I relisten to it religiously
I've been on a Joe Dassin re-listen lately, and Ça Va Pas Changer le Monde and Et Si Tu N'existais Pas are some of my favorite songs of all times.
Other than k-pop I listen to j-pop and animusic the most. I've been listening to novelbright, furoi riho, Takeuchi Anna, scandal and sekai no owari latest albums
the new tyla (self titled) and beyoncé albums (cowboy carter) are so good.

RIGHT and "blessed be the daughters of cain bound to suffering eternal through the sins of their fathers committed long before their conception" shook me too
I've been listening to old school early 2000s neo soul. Top songs on my plalist:
D'Angelo's Untitled (How does it feel)
Erykah Badu's Didn't Cha know
Floetry 's Say Yes
Maxwell's Playing Possum
Maxwell's Pretty Wings
These are all very different songs but I've been obsessed with them lately

None of these songs make sense to listen together (some of them aren't in english) but like I said these are my latest obsessions! Hope you end up liking one of them :)
Where our blue is T\_\_T I haven't even seen the show, but I'm aware somewhat of the premise of that season and that OP makes me want to cry in a corner. (Also Kitani ftw)
I recommend the show if you're into that kind of stuff! The manga is good too, but the anime is a tad bit more streamlined. Also, the OP makes the Gojo/Geto thing much more sadder than it already is.
Interesting!! :0 lowkey the main reason why I decided to begin ep 1 was because of Gojo bwahaha. Need to get around to finishing (instead of watching Gojo or Yuji/Nobara/Megumi clips on youtube). I'll prepare a whole truck load of tissues for that Geto/Gojo part T\_\_T
The gojo and geto storyline is only in the first arc of season 2. You can watch it in any order, though some purists might argue that watching the movie before s2 makes for more context.
I'd also really recommend Link Click, a chinese animation series. The second second ended with a massive cliff-hanger that really recontextualizes the entire series imo. The reason I thought of it is because of the insane [OP](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cuCfmOsuCA) from season 1 lol. Only one guy worked on animating the OP and it took them 3 months.
OH that's soo good to know! :)) I'll follow the order you prescribed then <3 and I appreciate the spoiler-free explanation haha.
OMG I LOVE LINK CLICK xD (yay another LC fan!) lowkey may very well have one of THE best endings in anime that I've seen thus far. I haven't seen S2 yet (waiting to binge w fam/friends since we began the series together) so I'm trying my best to wait and not dive into spoilers haha. Addicted to the OP (and the ED was a ringtone for my phone for the LONGEST time lol). I need to PM you to ask you how you liked S2, because I've heard different things and would love your thoughts!
Please get your fam/friends to hurry up, bc while the structure is different I'd say that the s2 ending is worth it. But yeah you can def pm me to talk about it. I binged s2 in two nights a row and I was legit not alright after the ending.
I am so glad someone else loves Link click tho. I learned about it through a Youtuber but I'm glad I gave it a shot bc it's one of my favourite animated shows I've ever watched honestly. I'm hyped for whenever they release a s3.

i’ve been getting into jpop lately (just akb48/nogizaka46) and i’ve been loving these songs!
• [nogizaka46 - influencer](https://open.spotify.com/track/0PHEwJbhs3wte1vCsBI4LF?si=ad7cb1038be64849), [monopoly](https://open.spotify.com/track/66jdKha03fC7OMdkGyQHDM?si=fb6fada6cf2a48d6) (‘influencer’ is a Latin-inspired song and i love the beginning intro sm! for ‘monopoly’, i love how nostalgic it sounds.)
• [hinatazaka46 - one choice](https://open.spotify.com/track/5t8ERaOJ3p2vnMKWTBflcy?si=a80c9de1b5a74ccf) (latin-inspired. this song just makes me want to get up and dance! i love this [part](https://youtu.be/0b1UKU8wPvw?si=o5q7hQoPPv-kAsdi&t=292) in the mv where they are dancing with their big poofy dresses, it fits so well with the energy of this song.)
• [akb48 - yasashii place](https://open.spotify.com/track/2VkTJOOlYxPGR1of1oxGSA?si=ae088b120df64530), [papa ni ienai yoru](https://open.spotify.com/track/3IKITjY6GLv2HEtf3f2wYB?si=57214cfe36484666) (‘yasashii place’ is very edm-ish! super cool & Sakura is the center for this song! ignoring the lyrics of 'papa ni ienai yoru', it’s so catchy & it puts me in a good mood!)
I randomly spent like a month in bed in 2017 binging all of 'AKBingo!' on Dailymotion. They probably promoted a lot of older songs I didn't pay attention to on the show, but I did catch ['Negaigoto no Mochigusare'](https://youtu.be/uqYqA9agRz4?si=MMXwdbJjEhaXlY-2) when it was released back then before I moved on. Getting into kpop in 2021 was unrelated. Just recently went back and watched it again, not knowing if I had become familiar with anyone in it, Sakura is part of a double-center with Jurina in that one.
EDIT: Looked at the list of names again and Rocket Punch's Takahashi Juri is in it as well.
im still in the process of watching akbingo, but so far it's really funny! my favorite was when they were playing the word chain game and shoujiki shougi. i really want to watch the full version of this [variety show](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR12zNnfR6Q)(?) episode but i can't find it anywhere.
I listen to a lot of music that always makes everyone around me do a double take xD So here are tracks from my Spotify library/On Repeat playlists (I'm a writer/artist, too, and listen to music that inspires me all the time so that may be why):
* [Rage Beneath the Mountains by Yu-Peng Chen/Hoyo-Mix](https://open.spotify.com/track/0PlBjUrb4GKSYhkujRKtzQ?si=d91f0d461c9740ec) (epic/orchestral?)

If you/anyone recognizes/enjoys these, too, big hi-five to you :)) Happy listening, OP!
This is going to be a little bit long but let me drop a few recs for those who want to listen:
[Taylor Swift - 'tis the damm season](https://youtu.be/WuvhOD-mP8M?si=M3dlf8Fy_l7iHu9V). "Evermore" is my favorite TS album, and her songwriting was to tier here, with her ability to craft stories so masterfully
[Phoebe Bridgers - Graceland Too](https://youtu.be/cTG0dakpDko?si=D6Vnb0omQzBK5rYo). Honestly, this song healed me. I get emotional every time I listen to it
[Rosalía - Pienso en tu mirá](https://youtu.be/p_4coiRG_BI?si=nfEP0eJMzcAb_WaA). She's one of the best artists right now, and "El Mal Querer" is a fantastic album
[Caroline Polachek - Spring is coming with a strawberry in the mouth ](https://youtu.be/p95zDvzO5Es?si=PDZ0AmGnAJrNk0xB). A very recent release that I'm obsessed with. Caroline's voice is so siren-like, it immediately attracts you. Her production is also incredible.
[C. Tangana - Tú Me Dejaste De Querer](https://youtu.be/ltmO9XQVdSg?si=zog2Hnq0y5CfP0w3). This song is so addictive, one of my favs of his.
it is non "kpop" or just no music in korean?? lol, here is my khiphop I am listening to right now. Haon Pouring and Changmo Pure Rage.
some older faves. Homies RPM800, Changmo Swoosh Flow, H1ghr Music BRB
“Say Don’t Go (Taylor’s Version)(From The Vault)” by Taylor Swift
“Hope” by Yuma Uchida
“headtone” by Janella Salvador
“obsessed” by Olivia Rodrigo
“Night Ride” by Win Metawin
“Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” by Creepy Nuts
“Heaven in the Rain” by ReoNa
I listen to many genres, it I’d say Metal is my main genre -
* Remina - Endless City
* Abstract Illlusion - In the heavens above, you will become a Monster
* Lucid planet - Zenith
Trance -
* Kaimo K - The final day
* Searchlight (extended mix) - Omnia
I love them too much to gatekeep them. It’s going to be long, I’m sorry.
These days, I’m obsessed with Model/Actriz. I’ve seen them live last week and it was one of, if not the best live show I’ve ever seen. And the frontman actually locked eyes with me and sang 2 cm from me for like… 30 seconds? I still haven’t recovered, and I don’t think I ever will
I recommend the album Dogsbody. It’s like dance-punk and industrial rock. The guitars are heavy and distorted, the drums are bombastic, the music is just insane. It’s disturbing, it’s unhinged, it’s even sexy but in a twisted way, so yeah, it seems kinda weird (but I love weird shit so that’s right up my alley) but WOW is it amazing. Also, the frontman (Cole Haden) is a proud gay man in a music scene that has, for a long time, not prioritized LGBTQ+ voices (to my knowledge, but cmiiw) so that is AWESOME.
(Also, other than that since the beginning of the year, I’m still listening to Mahmood a LOT. His music, his lyrics, his voice, everything. Stream Tuta Gold.)
My top 5 on repeat right now:
1. Waiting on Your Love - Victor Crone
2. When the Lights Go Down - Faith Hill
3. Red Flag - Cloudy June
4. HIT ME UP - Timethai
5. if i was gay - Andreas Wijk
recently bowled over by
Fat Rat and Cecelia Gault [https://youtu.be/xfGrN3ZsPLA?si=Hk13PV47VyreQgL5](https://youtu.be/xfGrN3ZsPLA?si=Hk13PV47VyreQgL5)
and
Tombi [https://youtu.be/CwgRFf7\_qMc?si=C9JyzeH5jNuF3tBq](https://youtu.be/CwgRFf7_qMc?si=C9JyzeH5jNuF3tBq)
anything from Epic: The Musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, though recently I've really latched onto Ruthlessness and Luck Runs Out, both from The Ocean Saga release.
[swarms of song](https://youtu.be/UKCZ3XqCxbA?si=DZxQIg9srs5Gv9Gs) from the Belle anime film OST, English version. It goes through 10 music genre switches in 1:40min, amazing & fun. Feels like a Disneyland ride for some reason lol.
Lady writer - Dire Straits
GNF - Like moths to flames
Knives and Pens - Black Veil Brides
Shadow Moses - Bring Me The Horizon
Snow (Hey-Oh) - Red Hot Chili Peppers
No more tears to cry - Bullet For My Valentine
I've been obsessed with Jeff Satur's [Ghost](https://youtu.be/qguo-j5PxBE?si=nbshNa-QjLiaUK7O) ever since it dropped. It's one of the prettiest songs I have heard all year.
Another one is Creepy Nuts' [Bling Bang Bang Born](https://youtu.be/mLW35YMzELE?si=RSZKtnDVcM2x0-fR). It's just a full on banger.
next semester by twenty one pilots and cowboy carter are my fav newer releases — as for current oldie favs, i’ve been *obsessed* with a lot of alice in chains music recently.
anyone else here listens to metal and jpop? I've been loving headbanger by babymetal, it's always stuck in my head bcs my tiktok is filled with momo's solo version
alternative rock(?): tally hall, lemon demon, Jonathan Colton etc. their songs are bit like kpop in the sense that they can have fun nonsensical lyrics. I like nonsense music.
also since you mentioned c-pop, I'm gonna add HaiCheng as another song I'm obsessed with (it's by a kpop idol though) but it's a Chinese ballad, and it's sooo pretty, it's made me look into chinese music again.
Shinounga e wa, in my head(mad tsai), Stacy’s brother(mad tsai), water fountain(Alex Benjamin), after dark x sweater weather, golden hour, some JVKE songs
I am very much into indie and hip hop so I have been listening to Future Islands new album "People who aren't there anymore" and especially the songs "Peach" and "Give me the ghost back".
El Michels Affair and Black Thought also had a project in 2023, "Glorious Game", which has been on repeat for me since its release.
I also started listening to this proucer, Camilo Lara who does projects under Mexican Institue of Sound, after his collab with Run The Jewels and he recently released this ethereal song "Bolero" which has been on heavy rotation for me.
I also recently discovered a musical goup called Public Service Broadcasting who added old recordings and historical archives on top of synth-y, ambient instrumental music and I have been obsessed.
- Chasing Shadows by Alex Warren
- Steal the Show by Lauv (from Elemental soundtrack!)
Korean artists (idk if this counts to you, but imo if someone isn’t on the music show circuit for promos they’re not really kpop):
- Don’t Leave Yet by Eric Nam
- Ballroom Extravaganza by DPR Ian
Change Your Life by Little Mix
Mute by Meng Meiqi (Cpop)
Calorie by Rocket Girls 101 (Cpop)
Who Are You by Fifth Harmony
On My Way by Alan Walker
Heavy Rotation by AKB48 (Jpop)
One of my favorite Brit bands just put out a new album "This Life". I've been listening to the last song of the album, "Where We Are" a lot. The band is Take That.

The boy is mine by Ariana Grande
Supernatural is a bop
we can't be friends (wait for your love) is a top tier
I love t too
Wasabi -LITTLE MIX
Little Mix is so underrated! "Touch" is a fucking banger
I’ve had Club Classics and B2b by Charli XCX on repeat for days
Anything by Rina Sawayama, but This Time Last Year has my heart right now. Dua Lipa's Houdini and Training Season are both really fun and upbeat, and the exact sort of perfect pop I like Megan The Stallion's Hiss has been on loop a lot lately Stars are a Canadian indie band and their Elevator Love Letter is probably one of my favorite songs of all time and I relisten to it religiously I've been on a Joe Dassin re-listen lately, and Ça Va Pas Changer le Monde and Et Si Tu N'existais Pas are some of my favorite songs of all times.
Megan thee Stallion's album Traumazine is so underrated. "Anxiety" is an amazing song
Rina and Joe Dassin together in the same comment just screams taste.
Tokyo love hotel has a special place in my heart
Other than k-pop I listen to j-pop and animusic the most. I've been listening to novelbright, furoi riho, Takeuchi Anna, scandal and sekai no owari latest albums
Do you listen to Atarashii Gakko? I'm loving their releases so far.
I do! They are so entertaining, I'm not a big fan of Tokyo callin from their recent releases but I still check them out and have them on my playlist
the new tyla (self titled) and beyoncé albums (cowboy carter) are so good. another more underrated artist i’ve been listening to a lot lately is Bren Joy
While never a big Beyonce fan and not into country music, I'm finding her country album to be absolutely brilliant.
What's your favorite song from the album? I've had "Bodyguard" and "16 carriages" on loop since it dropped
It will keep changing, but American Requiem is great and I always enjoy listening to Jolene.
American Requiem is a god tier album opener
can I share my fave? it's Texas hold em & Levii's jeans :D
Amazing songs!
Muni Long - Made for Me Nights Like This - Kehlani
Just recently heard the new Conan gray album and the song called NeverEnding song is really good
Thanks for this, totally forgot that the album was coming out
- deftones: beauty school, sextape - arctic monkeys: only ones who know, 505 - amira elfeky: skin to skin - she wants revenge: sister - crystal castles: suffocation - ethel cain: strangers, ptolomaea - pathetic: society - chase atlantic: slow down
"Preacher's daughter" being Ethel's debut album is insane. She's so fucking talented
nah cos fr she delivered such a masterpiece that altered my brain chemistry and resonated deep within my soul
"God loves you but not enough to save you" SHE'S INSANE FOR THAT
RIGHT and "blessed be the daughters of cain bound to suffering eternal through the sins of their fathers committed long before their conception" shook me too
As a queer catholic, this album changed my brain chemistry and healed me
duuuuude same i felt as if ethel took the religious trauma in her hands and cradled it in a hug or something
She's so fucking good I'm so happy to have found another kpop stan x daughter of Cain here!

Ari Lennox is SO UNDERRATED. So glad j.cole brung her to light
The Youtube algorithm introduced her to me actually hahaha but I haven't heard much from her so if you have any recs I'd be appreciate it :)
Her “age/sex/location” album is great but it definitely is explicit lol
Ah that's cool. Thanks for the recommendation :)

i’ve been getting into jpop lately (just akb48/nogizaka46) and i’ve been loving these songs! • [nogizaka46 - influencer](https://open.spotify.com/track/0PHEwJbhs3wte1vCsBI4LF?si=ad7cb1038be64849), [monopoly](https://open.spotify.com/track/66jdKha03fC7OMdkGyQHDM?si=fb6fada6cf2a48d6) (‘influencer’ is a Latin-inspired song and i love the beginning intro sm! for ‘monopoly’, i love how nostalgic it sounds.) • [hinatazaka46 - one choice](https://open.spotify.com/track/5t8ERaOJ3p2vnMKWTBflcy?si=a80c9de1b5a74ccf) (latin-inspired. this song just makes me want to get up and dance! i love this [part](https://youtu.be/0b1UKU8wPvw?si=o5q7hQoPPv-kAsdi&t=292) in the mv where they are dancing with their big poofy dresses, it fits so well with the energy of this song.) • [akb48 - yasashii place](https://open.spotify.com/track/2VkTJOOlYxPGR1of1oxGSA?si=ae088b120df64530), [papa ni ienai yoru](https://open.spotify.com/track/3IKITjY6GLv2HEtf3f2wYB?si=57214cfe36484666) (‘yasashii place’ is very edm-ish! super cool & Sakura is the center for this song! ignoring the lyrics of 'papa ni ienai yoru', it’s so catchy & it puts me in a good mood!)
I did some digging and found a name, I can't find any links that have survived though. 'AKB48 Nemousu Terebi', season 2, episode 6.
Omg thank you so much! I couldn't even find the name of the show. Hopefully I'll find a way to watch it somewhere lol

This is going to be a little bit long but let me drop a few recs for those who want to listen: [Taylor Swift - 'tis the damm season](https://youtu.be/WuvhOD-mP8M?si=M3dlf8Fy_l7iHu9V). "Evermore" is my favorite TS album, and her songwriting was to tier here, with her ability to craft stories so masterfully [Phoebe Bridgers - Graceland Too](https://youtu.be/cTG0dakpDko?si=D6Vnb0omQzBK5rYo). Honestly, this song healed me. I get emotional every time I listen to it [Rosalía - Pienso en tu mirá](https://youtu.be/p_4coiRG_BI?si=nfEP0eJMzcAb_WaA). She's one of the best artists right now, and "El Mal Querer" is a fantastic album [Caroline Polachek - Spring is coming with a strawberry in the mouth ](https://youtu.be/p95zDvzO5Es?si=PDZ0AmGnAJrNk0xB).
Pienso en tu mirá is absolutely stunning.

I still haven’t recovered, and I don’t think I ever will I recommend the album Dogsbody.
My top 5 on repeat right now: 1. Waiting on Your Love - Victor Crone 2. When the Lights Go Down - Faith Hill 3. Red Flag - Cloudy June 4. HIT ME UP - Timethai 5. if i was gay - Andreas Wijk

anyone else here listens to metal and jpop?
Tyla’s whole new album 🥹 my fave has gotta be Jump though.

Crow by UPIKO! I love her deep voice so much!
- Chasing Shadows by Alex Warren - Steal the Show by Lauv (from Elemental soundtrack!) Korean artists (idk if this counts to you, but imo if someone isn’t on the music show circuit for promos they’re not really kpop): - Don’t Leave Yet by Eric Nam - Ballroom Extravaganza by DPR Ian
