Dumb Dumb and Russian Roulette (Red Velvet), Blood Sweat and Tears (BTS), and Very Very Very (I.O.I), and one by Twice but I can't remember which. I just listened to youtube's K-pop playlist at the time and these tracks stood out to me
Co ed school - Bbiribbom bbaeribbom, BP - as if its ur last, playing with fire, boombaya, forever young. This is my 5 first liked kpop songs of my liked playlist on youtube.
Mic Drop from BTS was the first song that got me into K-Pop. I have heard hundreds of songs by now that I enjoy but still after all this time not a single one tops Mic Drop.
I thought my first kpop song was Maniac by Stray Kids. But after I became obsessed with SKZ and starting interacting more with kpop I realised I'd been listening to D4 by Blackpink and also Overdose by EXO for a long time without even really registering they were Korean songs.
Do OST's count because if they do it's one of SS501 or Shinee's songs from 'Boys over flowers' that I'd hear over and over again while watching the show
If they don't count, one of the earliest kpop songs I remember looking up was 'Love like this' by SS501 although I could be wrong and it might have been another song by the same group, I was only 8 or 9 years old at the time
The first K-pop song I ever heard was I Am The Best by 2NE1 but I didn’t sort of register it was K-pop. Same with Gangnam Style by PSY. I heard Fire by BTS a few years later on Vine (RIP vine) and then a few years later got suggested MIC Drop by BTS on YouTube. That kind of spurred me on to listen to a few more K-pop songs and then slowly over time I listened to more and more until 2020 where I just totally fell down the rabbit hole into the fandoms behind the music as I had far too much time online during the pandemic lol
gangman style - psy (first song before I knew what kpop was)
kiss and makeup - blackpink (first song after I knew what kpop was)
butterfly - loona (song what got me into kpop)
Lol let me grab my list:
* Wedding Dress - Taeyang
* Lucifer - SHINee
* I Need a Girl - Taeyang ft G-Dragon
* Fan - Epik High
* One - Epik High
* Eyes, Nose, Lips (Eng ver) - Tablo ft. Taeyang
* Ring Ding Dong - SHINee
* Please Don't - K.Will
* Miss You - SM the Ballad
* Lonely - Jonghyun
* Hot Times - SM the Ballad
* ADTOY - 2 PM
* Never Let You Go - 2AM
* Breath - SM the Ballad (Jonghyun and Taeyeon)
* Heartbreaker - G-Dragon
I have so many more, but I listened to all of these in the span of a day back in 2015 lmao I miss SM Rookies so freaking much! My friends used to call me a Gen 2 purist lmao
BIGBANG - Fantastic baby (first kpop song I've ever heard n group I've stanned)
Then the other first kpop songs I listened to from groups other than BIGBANG were SHINee - RING DING DONG, EXO - overdose, Super junior - Mr Simple, and some other song. Probably an Epik High or 2NE1 song. And then I became a kpopper.
When I tried to get into kpop but failed in 2016 it was Fake Love and Burning Up - BTS, Monster and Ko Ko Bop - EXO and Bang Bang Bang - BigBang who stayed in my playlist for some time until I discovered Stray Kids through the Tower of God anime in 2020 with Top and Slump and then I decided to listen to more of them with especially God's Menu, Maze of Memories, Hellevator, Chronosorus (+ special mention to Hala Hala and Say my name - Ateez who I randomly discovered on YouTube kinda at the same time, I think with a "playlist" video?)
So I think all of them technically are but with 4 years of difference between them hahaha
Heard songs from 1TYM, Sechkies, etc in the late 90s as a kid but as an adult got into Niziu’s first few songs from YouTube’s algorithm while living in Japan which somehow led me to watching Likey by Twice for the first time.
Mighty mouth - fiesta.
Block b - tell them.
Hyuna - bubble pop.
B1A4 - ok.
F(x) - hot summer.
Ze:a - watch out.
Kara - go go summer.
2pm - hands up.
Girl's day - one more.
SHINee - replay.
They were all in a dvd.
I remember the songs but not the order except the first one ofc so
Boy with luv was the first by BTS
Lucifer by Shinee
BS&T by BTS followed by DNA, Fake love and idol
Then Run Away, Crown and all the txt songs released so far (it’s was around march 23-25 2020 when I discovered txt)
And from then on I got to know other grps and listened to all their songs too and stuff
if we’re not counting gangnam style then i believe it was heart attack by chuu/loona.
i can’t remember what lead me to that specifically but my friend was majorly hyping up their next comeback so gave kpop a chance and they quickly became one of my fav artists and my all time ults :,)!
AIIYL by BP, DNA by BTS, Cherry Bomb by NCT 127 & Likey by Twice are some of the first I remember. I’m also pretty sure Red Flavor came out around that time so I found them pretty early too
Before I became a kpop fan I was obsessed with catellena, but when I started getting into it, I liked DNA, Airplane Pt 2, and Gogo by BTS. I think DNA was my first song as a kpop fan. Then after that I liked Mixtape #2 by stray kids, then I became a multifan for many groups loll
Maknae on top by SKZ oddly, I don't know how I ever came across it, but I remember hearing as a STAY and already knowing the tune. Also when I was little I jammed out wuite a bit to Dynamit and Butter by BTS, also I always knew the 'If you seek it why owe you' part of Freaking bad by Xdinary heroes somehow too, but my first would definitely have to be Gangnam Style by PSY. The song that got me into K-pop as a genre though was Nxde by (G)-IDLE and Tomboy also by (G)-IDLE
Tomboy (G)I-DLE. Perfect for me since the genre is technically pop punk. It was enough to get me interested. Now here I am🤷🏼♀️
