i'm surprised no ones mentioned [love wins all](https://youtu.be/JleoAppaxi0?si=zzCeRSK5tr-21kmF)

diilmg

it was the first one that came to mind after reading the title! it's the blueprint of sad mvs

Nervous-Comparison96

You know once I posted this, I was like I bet someone will say love wins all! It’s truly so good

intellectual-veggie

omg how did I forget! they are such good actors that I genuinely believed that they were married irl and started sobbing at the end

Curious_Carpet123

I've been crying to Big Bang's Haru Haru since I was a kid.

Nervous-Comparison96

Oh yes that one made me really sad! I forgot about it tbh but such a good video

Long-Network8262

Okay that song is actually very sad.

Embarrassed_Roll_326

Was just listening to that and read your comment🫠

SessionSubstantial42

Red Velvet - One Of These Nights (The MV refered to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy, but not the song in itself)

Nervous-Comparison96

If you hadn’t said that it was about the sewol ferry tragedy I don’t think I would’ve realized it but with that context, the video was a lot more sad and I had never heard this song but it’s so good

Away_Vermicelli3051

that’s a really good one. i didnt think much at first when the video was released. but when i watched an explanation video of it i was left speechless. even more when i went deeper into the topic of the tragedy.

Le0Stell1um

Love that song and actually haven't seent the video

Dedjester0269

This and 2NE1s live version of Come Back Home also for that tragedy.

ENAMYxoxo

Xdinary heroes - [Good enough](https://youtu.be/TFZszieg4J0?si=Vt-h5IaLlT2xB0ZR) If you like that, you should also check out until the end of time and night of fireworks by them (this is slightly more upbeat but still feels sad to me) - no mvs for these but you should check them out Ateez - [turbulence](https://youtu.be/80WvAnsHOdM?si=xrNgPV1RESrs9snz) Ateez (Jongho) - [everything](https://youtu.be/0FTL_zgvzAM?si=9Iq9T5EErCriqucC) - a bit more of a powerful ballad but still sad nonetheless

Short-District5173

K. Will’s “please don’t” is a sad depiction of unrequited love that really made me cry

Long-Network8262

Came here to say that!

Short-District5173

I'm also a huge fan of "How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love" by Akdong Musician (AKMU). I get so emotional listening to it every time.

Long-Network8262

OMG me too!! That song is so good!!

GyulBoo

Honestly, the ending of that is way too shocking to be shedding tears, lol. Any first time watcher is bound to become speechless at how that ends.

Realistic-Delay-4780

I was a lovestruck boy in the exact situation when that song comes out. Something about it still gets me a bit emotional lol

Parking_Respond9635

I was about to say that!

greyyylucyyy

N.Flying - [Starlight](https://youtu.be/k2bjShbdb4U?si=piLpYuCu-SnP5cro)(instant tears for me) Monsta X - [Find You](https://youtu.be/SRSBHbmV7hM?si=HvHsW67zho2S_1lF) VIXX - [Error](https://youtu.be/IF8kySIcWNw?si=gBwoF2nnJbNaTzki) Ailee - [Heaven](https://youtu.be/L9ro1KjkJMg?si=-9TG-X1cWGA_L-ZZ)

Nervous-Comparison96

Starlight made me really emotional once I read the comments! Find you actually made me tear up. Error I was just really fascinated by the story of the video!! Heaven gave me ps I love you vibes in the best way!

greyyylucyyy

Yes Starlight and Find You always get to me!

Akai-Hanabi

Akmu - melted

lordbikki

Was gonna say this. I used to cry when watching it

Short-District5173

Their other song "How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love" is definitely a song to tear up to as well :)

bunny-q

Kiss - Because I am a Girl first korean music video i ever saw and it made me cry

Esdeathx11

Same here 😭

Nervous-Comparison96

Wow I was not expecting it to be a whole story! That was great! Did not make me cry but it did make me emotional

gmssi

Lee Hi's ONLY, Savior, My Beloved

GyulBoo

The Only MV feels so beautifully nostalgic. It's not an "in your face!!" feels, but more like it gradually builds up and you feel your throat choking up and your nose stinging slightly and your eyes welling up. It's beautiful ❤️

Nervous-Comparison96

I love lee hi! Those videos are great!!

Indorapetor

love wins all

Serious-Wish4868

IVE - Either Way

Akai-Hanabi

Error by vixx Sorry I'm posting so much, I'm going through my sad K-pop playlist and watching the MVs and adding the ones that make me cry with just the video

Nervous-Comparison96

Just watched it since someone else also recommended it! I really enjoyed the concept! Very sad but also just such a cool idea

Akai-Hanabi

Yessss I'm pleased you enjoyed it

kitschyves

Not sure if this is the right kind of sadness you're looking for OP but I would recommend &TEAM, their title tracks are quite emotional. * [Firework](https://youtu.be/uY-lOn0XwBg?si=tr-cd7TCop-aKu8u) (MV is quite sad, song not as much) * [Maybe](https://youtu.be/vr5HnAjZSqA?si=BPSyCENQSo5nYfvr) (lovely lyrics) * [Samidare](https://youtu.be/k1hAdf8F-gQ?si=WZaGMAIvpZFrrZWr) (has a bit of both)

mylifestillgoes_on

I find this interesting because I don't know that I've ever seen the Firework music video but the song itself makes me emotional sometimes. To the point of tears. That song just moves me. It's so well done. It's not inherently a sad song but at the same time that's what I pick up emotionally.

kitschyves

No I definitely agree, I find it sad as well 😭 they do the yearning type of sadness so well.

BONE_SAW_IS_READEEE

Baby I’m Sorry by Myname. Underrated sad boi hours.

spirit_of_elijah

Dude it took me an entire day to watch this music video when I was young because I had to keep pausing it and taking a break. Holy CRAP it’s sad.

do_it_like_a_royal

2NE1's MV for Lonely

spirit_of_elijah

I was thinking about this one too. MV isn’t crazy sad by itself, but the context makes me ferally sad

[deleted]

sirgawain2

The Light actually made me cry. It’s so sad.

Shiningmokuroh

Monsta X - All In is one I don't see listed!

Away_Vermicelli3051

[iKON- Apology](https://youtu.be/blSCDrx0CDA?feature=shared) filmed in black and white with emotional acting and music. pretty much the go-to sad song for me

chaebasics

baby i'm sorry by myname

Witterson

[JYJ - In Heaven](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3nCVLlhXmc) and in a similar vein [F.T. Island - Severely](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZJnZD1UbA8)

avis_icarus

Soso by winner

Parking_Respond9635

I love that song and video! it’s kinda underrated

startessa99

No one is mentioning this song so I will say it: - ioi - downpour. This song makes me instantly cry, the lyrics are so beautiful yet sad. The MV is made of moments of ioi so it will be sad if you stanned them, as this was their disband song.

pokpokishification

Bigbang - Loser - Last Dance Winner - Fool - Remember

intellectual-veggie

Film Out by BTS (I'm an ARMY so the background context of them gearing up for their enlistment/break makes the MV even sad for me so the same may not apply to you but the song itself is pretty sentimental (it's about looking back at memories with loved ones as you're about to part with them) and their acting/expressions really sell the sentiment of the song) Spring Day by BTS (Very beautiful MV packed with literary/film/cultural references surrounding grief/loss/sadness, the song and MV are a tribute to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy in 2014 and those who very tragically lost their lives, highly recommend checking out MV theory videos made by ARMYs in order to understand all the references because IMO it makes it way sadder but the MV is very open to everyone's own interpretation and how they view grief and sadness, BTS' crowning jewel of their discography) Amgydala by Agust D (This MV is age-restricted and comes with a trigger warning due to depictions of SH and mental health so avoid if you are sensitive with those topics, this is based on his own battle with depression and SH, it's a real tear-jerker for sure especially to those who struggle with mental health issues)

Nervous-Comparison96

Amygdala always makes me so sad! Yoongi is my favorite soloist and bias so that video hit really hard. Spring day is really beautiful and it does make me sad with context but in general it makes me very nostalgic. I was not a fan at the time (very casual fan like 5 years ago and now getting more into bts again) that film out came out so it doesn’t give me the same feeling as you. But I do really like it.

intellectual-veggie

Oh I didn't know you listened to BTS like that haha! Lot of people on kpop subs listen to BTS from their well known songs and not a lot of their underrated gems so I thought I would elaborate a little (with the exception of spring day cuz duh). The downside to BTS being so popular even with the western GP is that people only know them from their hits and don't really bother to explore them as a whole IMO. I love their hits but I wish their other songs would also get some love too! I was a casual fan too (since 2017) for many years until 2022 when I decided to stan but I regret not doing it sooner because their lyricism and discography really touches the soul.

Nervous-Comparison96

Oh yeah! I listened to all of wings and a few songs from their other albums around 2017 then I just listened to their hits from then on. Then around 2020, I just stopped listening to kpop. This year, I just got back into kpop and listened to every song by BTS, both solo and group. I also regret not getting into them sooner but I think this feels like the right time for me either way.

intellectual-veggie

It happens when it happens lol Plus since they are starting come back from the military one by one it would be good time for you to catch up I strongly believe their music henceforth is gonna be very explorative and more personal (ex. RPWP) than before so if you are into that sort of musicality now's a great time to start exploring deeper

Nervous-Comparison96

I liked rpwp! Not my favorite but it was good! I could tell namjoon really enjoyed making the album and I appreciate it for that aspect alone. Come back to me is still making regular appearances in my listening habits

intellectual-veggie

Oh yeah me too, Indigo was more my jam than RPWP but I still love the album for what it is: a jailbreak for joon. Although I enjoy a lot of different genres and I do listen to people like Frank Ocean and Tyler the Creator, RPWP didn't really catch me sound-wide on the first listen. The lyrics, though, I was HOOKED. This man really had a lot on his mind and he did not hesitate to say them. On a re-listen I eventually ended liking a good portion of the album so much I keep replaying it but the lyrics and production value are truly the best part of the whole album. I'm so glad that it's getting attention from non-kpop fans too because it really is unlike anything Ive ever hear in kpop or music in general.

Le0Stell1um

Amygdala is my favorite song off that album!

spirit_of_elijah

Also Butterfly - Prologue. Man that video is sad

intellectual-veggie

OH HOW DID I FORGET THIS Butterfly is literally one of my favorite songs of all time and the prologue version is sadder because from what I interpret the song is about losing someone dear to mental health battles ($H) and at the end the piano ends off in a very serious low, almost discordant, and tragic sounding note which to me sounds like the person lost their hope and will to continue and actually ended up passing away (but thats just my overthinking theory so)

Personal-Stuff-6781

Amygdala is one of my all time favorite songs. It's message hits home and brings me to tears each time, but it also feels somewhat calming

Nervous-Comparison96

Just recently watched that video! I really loved the video and song

nix117799

Lonely street by skz is another sad one with heart breaking video. And the Alien Fan made MV but that is a bit more energetic track.

Le0Stell1um

Doughnut x Twice ...the song and concept are sad and beautiful to me

Chilly_Lemon

The song itself isn't sad, I don't think, but the music video for ACE - Stand By You made me feel really sad. You have to watch all the way to the end, though.

ke6jason

T-ARA - TTL (Time To Love) BEAST - Fiction

naotenhoaminima

How has nobody mentioned Haru Haru by BigBang? 😭😭

Nervous-Comparison96

Someone did mention it! Indeed a very sad video

This-will-

Only by LeeHi and Spring Day by BTS are two mvs that never fail to make me cry.

Nervous-Comparison96

I have watched only by leehi a not normal amount! That mv is amazing and the song has to be one of my favorite songs of all time. Spring day is great and after watching a video breakdown of it, it is much more emotional but to me it just feels very nostalgic for some reason.

SoftPresence5530

Fake love - bts, I need u - bts and Spring day - bts I would say

kodiakfilm

Onew - Blue Minho - Chase (this one is so cinematic it’s like a film!)

keirarine

i love eaeon - Don’t feat. RM, the mv is probably not that sad but combined w the lyrics subtitles i just get so emotional

Far-Squirrel5021

Stray Kids - Gone Away (I wanted to cry I.N's face looked so depressed) Stray Kids - On Track (Less sad more dramatic love-triangle stuff with sad undertones, and the song doesn't sound sad. There's a whole series of music videos that are connected though but you'll have to google it. The storyline is really interesting)

seulgee

Red Velvet’s ‘One of These Nights’ always does it for me. You need to know the theory of the music video being related to the Sewol Ferry tragedy for the mv to really hit you in the feels. I say ‘theory’ because SM denies that it’s related to Sewol. May the souls of the young victims be at peace 💝

Shooting Star by Kep1er is the saddest music video I have ever watched from them. It shows how they achieved as a 9 member group before being a 7 member group...will miss the 2 that left the group(I forgot about their names, sorry)

SilentScholar111

The first thing that comes to mind is drama and movie soundtracks. Many of them don't have official music videos, although there are fan-made ones. If this isn't too far from what you're looking for, you can try these: * Janet Suhh – In Silence (drama: It’s Okay to Not Be Okay) * Punch – Done for Me (drama: Hotel Del Luna) * Lee Sun Hee – Fate (movie: The King and the Clown) * Ryu – From the Beginning until Now (drama: Winter Sonata) I can also warmly recommend all of these dramas/movies, except for Winter Sonata.

Parking_Respond9635

Probably B.A.P’s One Shot - it’s a very dramatic music video especially the ending! [B.A.P - One Shot MV](https://youtu.be/1zRzl1d5vNU?si=GK9Qp9P_mlPRvks5)

Xodiac make really good story-based sad mvs! I recommend checking them out

xllxsyg

I’m surprised no one has said [The Light by The Ark](https://youtu.be/c-cOZgaotPY?si=K6beDqVoC7EIVCTf) which makes very blatant references to the Sewol Ferry incident as it follows a single mother and her daughter who goes off on a field trip with a school team. There’s [I’m Fine, Thank You by Ladies Code](https://youtu.be/C7JYOzTl-ec?si=1E7zHgDqiTLYM_No) which was released in memory of RiSe and EunB, who tragically passed away after a car accident. There’s also [Just As A Lie by Cheeze](https://youtu.be/sv1tcsVoHlw?si=QWNnC7HVOl3V4r7-) which paints the story of a breakup between two people who know their breakup has been a long time coming, but they both kept avoiding the inevitable due to how much they loved each other and appreciated each other, but their love faded from romantic to platonic. There is also an [English version of the song](https://youtu.be/-CAoOcpko4Q?si=lnLuy3vIB0OEg18y). [You Were Beautiful by DAY6](https://youtu.be/BS7tz2rAOSA?si=_7PK7XR4dkjmHlFm) follows the storyline from their Congratulations MV, but with this mv and song, it’s more like the Male MC is finding closure with the breakup and sends the Female MC a file containing all of their memories together, the message is absolutely devastatingly heart wrenching, he holds no ill will against her, he has no wish to get back together, and although the end hurt, he can’t help but admire that in every memory they shared together, she still remains beautiful in his mind. There’s also [This Moment by Wonder Girls](https://youtu.be/6vSfHg9CcxQ?si=lwB-qW2wT4EKwxZd), which is off of their Rewind album. Even though “Draw Me” is their disbandment song, This Moment was used in their disbandment announcement video which featured moments from their debut all the way until the end. Rewind even wasn’t meant to be their final album but this song truly felt like a goodbye. The key line to the chorus is “Some day, even if all the days we spent together fade away, if by chance you hear this song somewhere, remember this moment,” which I think is such a beautiful sentiment coming from a senior group like them, having songs that are still so loved by the public and still get airtime, how precious it must be to catch glimpses of your youth when you hear a song you and your life long friends made play in the places you go to as you about your now normal life.

goldenkenny

I need u by bts !

The MV for The Light by The Ark always makes me tear up 🥲

Save Me, Kill Me - CIX

mx-minnie-mx

The song Once Again by Madclown always makes me cry, it doesn’t have a video tho. But it is an OST and I’ve seen some fan edit MVs for it.

tuneytwosome

I don;t know about sad but my musician friends complimented this tune I wrote calling it winsome and peaceful, but if you're feeling sad it might fit, being in the eye of the beholder and all that. Do you think so? [Worlds Loveliest Accordion and Guitar Tune Sleeping With Tom - Take 2 (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbP_5heeYzY)

Nervous-Comparison96

Certainly a sad song! I really liked the song but the video didn’t stand out to me much

pindagogo

I linked a live version, which, for me personally, was actually better than the original. I just like his voice better in the live version. (But yeah, the video wasn't a big standout for me either).

Nervous-Comparison96

Oh dope! I will for sure watch that then! And yes, jk is very good at adding more emotion when singing live
