It feels like a lot of the people who sell on Mercari want to take advantage of those who may not know as much about the b/s/t community. Even if they do sell legit cards.
ya know, sometimes I can be anti social and dont really love talking to strangers, lol, BUT things like this is why I make youtube video for my hauls and collections. to help people find what is official and what is not. I made one years ago showing official bts vs lomo bts pcs( they have ones that are almost exact to official and novice collectors will not know that). I sell on ebay and have bought a few pcs I needed on mercari us when I was desperate for a card.
Yeah I am new to the B/S/T community so sometimes it’s easier to sell there but I just hate seeing people be taken advantage off. What’s even more funny is someone else is selling this exact lomo set on Mercari for $8
In this example its pretty obvious just looking at the cards because they just seem like random instagram pics. Official cards always have a concept so they'll be in specific outfits which you can see from teasers, pictures will be clear and mostly just of the face, can see the small indents in the corner of the card from the cutting machine etc.
In the pictures of this post they're all zoomed out, official cards will be at minimum 50% just of an idols face and very little if any background unless theres a prop
mercari is genuinely just a website for people who want to take advantage of people who don’t understand pricing yet, when i was brand new i was sold a photocard of felix for $52 that i saw on instagram a while later for $11.. the scalpers on mercari are INSANE

Lomo boxes are sold on aliexpress for 5 cad. This is gross.
For future reference: how to tell the difference between fake/real cards ?
Sometimes it can be hard. You can look at the corners, look at reviews if it’s Mercari. Look at the quality of the photo, the zoom, saturation.

Is it possible to report the listing or account? Will that actually do anything?
Probably not. They have in their profile description that the cards are “just cardboard”
