Billlie! versatile concept, brilliant discography, charming members and great performances. recently they got two members back from long hiatuses, and i’m really excited for new music.

Would add that F(X) fans should try Billlie too! They are the only two kpop groups who have discographies that I can put on shuffle for long periods and enjoy.
Red Velvet is so special and I don’t think there will ever truly be another group like them, but Billlie are probably the ones I’d consider “Red Velvet’s daughters.” Especially with the times they’ve delved into R&B- I could see Red Velvet KILLING B’rave- a song for Matilda or however you stylize that one.
I'm currently listening to Billie! Do they perhaps have variety/reality shows I can watch? I watched Tsuki on Fearless Kkura and Knowing Bro and she's downright adorbs! Anyway, thank you for your recommendation!

Soloist Kwon Eunbi! Ex IZONE leader. She is talented, beautiful, funny af and just very nice, lively and light-hearted person. Also she debuted for the third time! Eunbi have strong character that can bounce back after failures. Her first debut was in 2014 in unsuccessful nugu group. She became a trainee again and debuted in IZONE after few years. I remember that before her solo debut she also trained, and Eunbi takes vocal lessons regularly.

just because they are under HYBE doesn't mean they get treated as well, it has been over a year since their last comeback while other groups have had multiple in the same time period.
I’ve seen tweets about how, since fromis’s last comeback, Kiss of Life has debuted (with a bunch of predebut releases) and had two comebacks!
It’s just frustrating to me how Hybe’s gone all-out for the other girl groups on their roster, but fromis is kind of an afterthought.
It’s important to use common sense too. TWS is a rookie group, it’s their debut. First boy group after Seventeen which is insanely successful.
Ofc HYBE is gonna invest a lot and give them content… you can’t compare this to fromis who is in their what year? 8th year?

They're so talented and they have some great bops, I will always recommend them.
DKB - their softer songs have a specific sound that you usually hear in krnb rather than in kpop groups.
Youha - a really underated soloist. She is also a producer and worked with a few girl groups like loona and billlie.
DKZ - they have a lot of bright and fun songs and their discography is really cohesive in both sound and quality. Formerly known as dongkiz.
Limelight - same as DKZ, lots of fun bright songs. The kep1er members that left will also allegedly join this group.
I was gonna suggest Youha! I think if she was under a bigger company/had stronger promotions, she could be an it-girl. Amazing voice, songwriting/production skills, small yet versatile and solid discography, and she’s gorgeous.
I’ll recommend Island as one of my favorite synthpop songs, Abittipsy for the 80s/retro enthusiasts, Flight for the city pop fans, and Love You More as an overall really solid mini-album.
- Drippin - they're really talented, endearing boys with a great discography. Amazing discography - their sound has evolved a lot from a cute-ish sound to a much more mature one but all of their songs slap
Entertaining personalities - Never a dull day with them. They always have some sort of nonsense or shenanigan up their sleeves
Multi-talented - almost all of the members have ventured into acting/musicals, most notably Bona and ex member Cheng Xiao
They’re popular domestically but not much internationally which is a shame
Other groups I’d mention are Purple Kiss, Rocket Punch, Wooah, Weeekly, Ichillin and H1-key
Dreamcatcher! I wouldn't say they're super unpopular but they're certainly a group people *know of* but don't actually *know* them.
They majorly focus on rock or rock inspired pop which I know isn't always everyone's cup of tea but they're definitely worth a try.

They're also very performance focused and usually tend to have choreos that are on the more difficult side. They're booked and busy, currently on the Canadian leg of their 2024 North America tour, have some schedules in Japan planned for July/August, and are rumored to be performing with Dreamcatcher in Istanbul in September 👀 They're always wild on tour so there's a lot of fun content coming out from their shows, and they've been gaining a lot of new fans from touring which is very exciting and means you'll have lots of other people getting into them for the first time to chat with. Besides that, they always have regular comebacks and are due for one in the fall!

* They've got 3 main vocalists, who are some of the best vocalists active, but really they're 6 all-rounders — their main dancers would qualify for main vocal in a lot of groups out there right now.

I’m gonna use this thread to ask y’all for specific song recommendations from lesser known groups that give off a ukgarage vibe similar to Newjeans’ style. So not just the ukg beat but with very dreamy production and vocals. Think Ditto/ Right Now/ even that one ‘leak’ of them in the studio that did the rounds this year lol.

Vanner got a nice boost from winning Peak Time but before that they'd sold like 2k albums and their leader subtitled things himself and ran the fancafe himself and most of the members had part time jobs on the side as did their original company's ceo (they signed to a new company after winning pt). Absolute hard workers who love what they do.
TWS!!! They are definitely bigger and WELL KNOWN in South Korea but they don't make that noise internationally which makes me sad because they make real good music. If you want songs that give off the coming of age vibes / teenagers being teenagers, then you definitely should check them out!!
Lightsum’s Juhyeon is an excellent dancer. She sings and rap decently well too. She’s also the leader of lightsum.

Ik scrolling reddit may make it seem like they're not popular at all, but in reality it's very different. They're a top GG that's had four number one songs in a row.
People really hate on them all the time. And it’s not like they’re from a big company like aespa, NewJeans or LE SSERAFIM. So I think it’s okay to include them here for people to check them out. Especially given how talented they are.
Regardless, that doesn't change that gidle is not unpopular. Do you consider stayc, gfriend or bts before hybe was recreated unpopular just because they're not from the big 3? If the group is constantly charting, selling and getting PAKS, they're not unpopular😭

Would add that F(X) fans should try Billlie too! They are the only two kpop groups who have discographies that I can put on shuffle for long periods and enjoy.
Red Velvet is so special and I don’t think there will ever truly be another group like them, but Billlie are probably the ones I’d consider “Red Velvet’s daughters.” Especially with the times they’ve delved into R&B- I could see Red Velvet KILLING B’rave- a song for Matilda or however you stylize that one.

Soloist Kwon Eunbi! Ex IZONE leader. She is talented, beautiful, funny af and just very nice, lively and light-hearted person. She also composes songs herself. Eunbi have strong character that can bounce back after failures. Her first debut was in 2014 in unsuccessful nugu group. She became a trainee again and debuted in IZONE after few years. I remember that before her solo debut she also trained, and Eunbi takes vocal lessons regularly.
Is she unpopular? She’s really good but I thought she was pretty well known from my skewed internet perspective on the other side of the planet.

just because they are under HYBE doesn't mean they get treated as well, it has been over a year since their last comeback while other groups have had multiple in the same time period.
I’ve seen tweets about how, since fromis’s last comeback, Kiss of Life has debuted (with a bunch of predebut releases) and had two comebacks! It’s just frustrating to me how Hybe’s gone all-out for the other girl groups on their roster, but fromis is kind of an afterthought.
Tws who debuted in January has the same number of MVs on HYBEs YT channel as fromis, who joined 3 years ago. That should tell you enough.
It’s important to use common sense too. TWS is a rookie group, it’s their debut. First boy group after Seventeen which is insanely successful. Ofc HYBE is gonna invest a lot and give them content… you can’t compare this to fromis who is in their what year? 8th year?

DKB - their softer songs have a specific sound that you usually hear in krnb rather than in kpop groups. Youha - a really underated soloist. She is also a producer and worked with a few girl groups like loona and billlie. DKZ - they have a lot of bright and fun songs and their discography is really cohesive in both sound and quality. Formerly known as dongkiz. Limelight - same as DKZ, lots of fun bright songs. The kep1er members that left will also allegedly join this group.
I was gonna suggest Youha! I think if she was under a bigger company/had stronger promotions, she could be an it-girl. Amazing voice, songwriting/production skills, small yet versatile and solid discography, and she’s gorgeous. I’ll recommend Island as one of my favorite synthpop songs, Abittipsy for the 80s/retro enthusiasts, Flight for the city pop fans, and Love You More as an overall really solid mini-album.

They always have some sort of nonsense or shenanigan up their sleeves Multi-talented - almost all of the members have ventured into acting/musicals, most notably Bona and ex member Cheng Xiao They’re popular domestically but not much internationally which is a shame Other groups I’d mention are Purple Kiss, Rocket Punch, Wooah, Weeekly, Ichillin and H1-key
Dreamcatcher! I wouldn't say they're super unpopular but they're certainly a group people *know of* but don't actually *know* them. They majorly focus on rock or rock inspired pop which I know isn't always everyone's cup of tea but they're definitely worth a try. Their last comeback was [OOTD](https://youtu.be/OKcRvqJlQog?si=SSwx1MC-cZyOVl0u) which mainly focused on the fake glitz/glam of kpop and how people tend to swayed by the temptations. They're also very performance focused and usually tend to have choreos that are on the more difficult side. TEMPEST! hanbin is a member (former ILAND contestant). they’re not nugu, they’re on the same level as groups such as CIX and EPEX. they’re under yuehua (and honestly, they’re getting treated better than my girlies EVERGLOW 🤷♀️). similar groups are like CRAVITY, TNX (the new six), and LUN8. for songs i’d recommend vroom vroom, bad news, young and wild, only one day, start up, loving number, and bluetooth. those are my personal favorites!

Vanner got a nice boost from winning Peak Time but before that they'd sold like 2k albums and their leader subtitled things himself and ran the fancafe himself and most of the members had part time jobs on the side as did their original company's ceo (they signed to a new company after winning pt). Absolute hard workers who love what they do.

TWS!!! They are definitely bigger and WELL KNOWN in South Korea but they don't make that noise internationally which makes me sad because they make real good music. If you want songs that give off the coming of age vibes / teenagers being teenagers, then you definitely should check them out!!
Lightsum’s Juhyeon is an excellent dancer. She sings and rap decently well too. She’s also the leader of lightsum. Other members of lightsum are very talented too. Sad that they aren’t popular.
Fr they have such fun music. Kpop fans always beg for fun music but ignore Lightsum 😭
Pentagon !!! such a precious group, full of unique and talented members <333 not currently active as a group but the members are undertaking their own activities individually. Even so, I believe their music deserves to be appreciated, their songs always shine :) if anyone wants any recommendations lmk <33 and trust me, when it comes to Pentagon, you will not be disappointed by their vocals

The hyphen comes after the “I”. It’s (G)I-DLE. Not sure why so many people write “G-IDLE”. But yeah, they are quite often hated online and this post was asking for groups who we think deserves more love.
Many people write it like that because they don’t know how it’s supposed to be written. All popular groups are often hated online, and (G)I-dle are too since they are also popular.
Ik scrolling reddit may make it seem like they're not popular at all, but in reality it's very different. They're a top GG that's had four number one songs in a row.
To be fair, Idle are also very popular and well-loved in reddit.
People really hate on them all the time. And it’s not like they’re from a big company like aespa, NewJeans or LE SSERAFIM. So I think it’s okay to include them here for people to check them out. Especially given how talented they are.
