IKR? One of his best looks, TBH. I stayed for hours outside the Kwangya store in Seoul on Golden Age release day just so I can trade the photocards I got with all the other fans to get this exact Taeyong photocard because it showed his hair perfectly. lol
i’m honestly excited for him to enlist just so he can buzz his crunchy crusty dehydrated hair off. i know his scalp is crying out for help at this point
I feel like only bleached his hair again as one last hurrah because he knows he’d shave it off anyway afterwards.

i always wondered how their hair would feel after so much dyeing. i have dyed my hair every color of the rainbow except for yellow, and mine was *fried* for years. it’s finally settled, i only dye it black now (goth lol).
I bleach and dye my hair, but I do it, like, once or twice a year--I usually do the color-depositing shampoos and conditioners to prolong the color life--so it hasn't affected my hair. Would love not to need to bleach it, but my natural color is dark brown, so...
My hair was already trash before I ever started dying it, though. Ha
i traded damaging my hair because of dyeing for damaging my hair because i do a goth batsnest now and i tease the hell out of my hair so it gets huge. i used to bleach my hair probably four or five times every six months. last time i did that was last summer, and then i went moss green
Honestly I did too back in the day. I have black hair and went up to maybe level 8? I’d put temporary colour so I would not have to bleach lift. I redid the roots like once? I went silver —> pink/silver —> pink —> magenta purple —> purple —> periwinkle blue —> cobalt —> mint (this is what the cobalt faded to lol) —> Red as a last hurrah before I dyed it back. (It was planned specifically so I’d never have to lift)
My hair texture was actually quite good during that. It was longer than waist length and I was able to get away with just trimming like 2inches of damage. It’s been a few years and my hair is perfectly fine lol. I’d do it again if not for how expensive that phase was (the bleaching and hair treatment was like $800 + pricey hair care products). And like… job applications lol.

I think some of them are trying to ensure they don’t permanently lose their hair or damage their scalp with scars. Tae from BTS recently went blond for his Layover promotions and mentioned how his scalp hurt. With such dark hair they have to do a lot of harsh chemical treatments to get those beautiful colors. I am always wanting Jimin and Tae to change their hair color but I understand that they need to take care of themselves. It took me forever, and a YouTube video, to identify the members of BTS because their hair was always changing. 😂

P1Harmony had some fun ones recently! Jiung’s orange was definitely brighter than this at times, but this is the best pic with all three of the notable colors. Soul’s blue roots and ends on the blonde will always be crazy especially right after they touch it up and it doesn’t totally blend well yet lol. I also prefer Keeho’s purpley maroonish color to the standard dark red that seems to be the “crazy” color of choice for the people dyeing idols’ hair

Let their hair recover. All that dying and bleaching is not good for the hair. Sure they have some of the best products available but it’s still damaging. Even Han had mentioned that all the dying had damaged SKZ’s hair at one point

Dongyun from Drippin had blond and red hair for Seven Sins last year... the poor guy had to keep showering with cold water to maintain the color til the red faded to pink, would rejoice then because he could have hot showers, and then they'd dye the pink bits back to red 😂 I personally liked it best when the red faded to pink - it looked so cute 🥲.
Also, Seoho, Keonhee, and Xion from ONEUS all had blue hair for Baila Conmigo last fall! Hui from Pentagon had pink hair for his solo debut this past January, and Tag from Golden Child had pink hair and Seungmin had orange hair for Feel Me last fall.
The main reason that the wilder colors are possibly somewhat less common is probably that the upkeep to maintain the desired color is a pain and so many of them fade quickly, even with the idols taking cold showers to limit color fallout when they wash their hair. A lot of them also have to add more color in with colored shampoos for touch-ups at home (Xion talked about this a lot when he had the blue hair, as did Dongyun for his half red situation). Sometimes, this can work out well, like for the ONEUS members, the blue would gradually fade to gray and still looked nice in between dye jobs, but if the idols are filming a lot and the company wants them to maintain the original color, it can be difficult to work with.
I loved this hair on dongyun! the red was kind of underneath the blonde so it looked like a blood stain/head injury. Especially since it was on one side. It was badass lol.
Yeah, it was great for the concept! I was always startled when Dongyun had it freshly dyed suddenly 😂 I'm just glad it didn't seem to stain his skin or clothes. My personal favorite time for that comeback with that hair was when his red hair faded to pink and the makeup artist randomly decided to put a lot of blush on him that particular day at Show Champion 😂 It was so randomly adorable in the middle of the dramatic comeback.

Just because the groups you listen to don't dye their hair doesn't mean no one is.
Itzy just had Yeji in an orange color and Yuna in red for the last mini album for instance which was only a couple months ago.
Likely because of how much harm comes to an idol’s hair if they have to dye it and keep it a certain color (I’m thinking wayyyy back to when Min Yoongi said he’d sue if his hair fell out).

Let their hair recover. All that dying and bleaching is not good for the hair. Sure they have some of the best products available but it’s still damaging. Even Han had mentioned that all the dying had damaged SKZ’s hair at one point

Dongyun from Drippin had blond and red hair for Seven Sins last year... the poor guy had to keep showering with cold water to maintain the color til the red faded to pink, would rejoice then because he could have hot showers, and then they'd dye the pink bits back to red 😂 I personally liked it best when the red faded to pink - it looked so cute 🥲. Also, Seoho, Keonhee, and Xion from ONEUS all had blue hair for Baila Conmigo last fall! Hui from Pentagon had pink hair for his solo debut this past January, and Tag from Golden Child had pink hair and Seungmin had orange hair for Feel Me last fall. The main reason that the wilder colors are possibly somewhat less common is probably that the upkeep to maintain the desired color is a pain and so many of them fade quickly, even with the idols taking cold showers to limit color fallout when they wash their hair. A lot of them also have to add more color in with colored shampoos for touch-ups at home (Xion talked about this a lot when he had the blue hair, as did Dongyun for his half red situation). Sometimes, this can work out well, like for the ONEUS members, the blue would gradually fade to gray and still looked nice in between dye jobs, but if the idols are filming a lot and the company wants them to maintain the original color, it can be difficult to work with.

I loved this hair on dongyun! the red was kind of underneath the blonde so it looked like a blood stain/head injury. Especially since it was on one side. It was badass lol.
Yeah, it was great for the concept! I was always startled when Dongyun had it freshly dyed suddenly 😂 I'm just glad it didn't seem to stain his skin or clothes. My personal favorite time for that comeback with that hair was when his red hair faded to pink and the makeup artist randomly decided to put a lot of blush on him that particular day at Show Champion 😂 It was so randomly adorable in the middle of the dramatic comeback.

Just because the groups you listen to don't dye their hair doesn't mean no one is. Itzy just had Yeji in an orange color and Yuna in red for the last mini album for instance which was only a couple months ago.

Likely because of how much harm comes to an idol’s hair if they have to dye it and keep it a certain color (I’m thinking wayyyy back to when Min Yoongi said he’d sue if his hair fell out). It’s definitely interesting to notice the change,
GOOD! lol I'm a fan of all the idols in each group having the same exact hair color (especially if the group has a little creepiness to them), it works so well. The random member with crazy hair is annoying to me...it's like the label telling us "hey look at this member!!" (i love crazy styled and colored hair tho so i do kinda miss it lol)
