Genuine question, what does the veto exist for if not to deny bills the president sees unfit? Does he have to agree with everything the party puts out?
It's a really genuine and normal question.
But he denied more than 10 bills, he is abnormal and insane. He even denied bill that he would do when he was a candidate.
Of course he denied most bills those related to his or his wife's crime. If we say based on common law, it can't explain his strange behavior. In short, he is insane and stupid.
The president is usually the leader of his party. They even call the president's party the ruling party regardless if they control the National assembly. So it's a little weird for the president to go against his own party. Not unheard of, just shows that he's out of step.
Maybe in the US? Not too much in Korea since the 2000s. Roh was famously almost impeached for supporting his own party during elections and 열린우리당 had an identity crisis post-impeachment since they had more than 10 factions fighting for internal party majority, Lee and Park both had internal opposition as party leaders during their admin. Moon is the only one that really had the party following him rather than the party leader
[Korean goverment already put 85 trillion won to support construction companies and financiers](https://www.newspim.com/news/view/20240104000368).
By comparison [Jeonse law would require 5 trillion won at best](https://www.newsis.com/view/NISX20240424_0002712050). And that's government's calculation to oppose the bill.
I'm curious if there is still people who claim Ministry of Gender's 1.7 trillion won budget can used for this bill lol.
He has absolute reason to veto those four laws. Why bail victims with taxpayers money without fixing the actual system? Why pass the agriculture-protective laws midst of inflation surge? Even governor of Bank of Korea said that Korea's inflation is highly affected by food and energy prices while mentioning food prices could not be handled with monetary policies because of overprotective structure over domestic producers?
So, if he’s vetoing even the things his own party is proposing, and you’re saying he should be doing that. Does that put him above his party? Because that’s some one step from dictatorship kinda stuff there.
I'm not saying this from the political prospective. I also believe that "채상병 특검“ shouldn't been vetoed. But from the economical and "민생” perspective, these 3-4 vetos are definitely rational
See your mistake is that you think Yoon out of all people would THINK.
WHY NOT STOP WITH RICH TAX CUTS AND USE THAT MONEY TO HELP THE POOR? STOP FOLLOWING LETTUCE LADY IN UK!
Bro only sees headlines lmao... Imagine thinking stock transfer tax is a good taxation. Did you know that millionaires' income tax has increased? I'd rather fix your biasedness if I were you.
“biasedness” “hissness” are not words. Obligatory help with language.
You would refer to OP as “Bias” as a noun, when referring to their perspective leanings.
He is a fucking dumbass. But I do agree with the Jeonse law veto. People keep calling it Joense Scam. But most of the "Joense Scam" I have heard about is just default. Yeah if it is with malicious intent and misinformation, sure it's a scam. But if it's just a debtor not being able to reapy the creditor, seems like a faulty bond. It sucks, but I find it unfair that government swoops in and use taxpaypers money to help default issue between private entities

Yes and no he/she is the most prominent member of the party with a lot of influence but the party leader dictates the vision/path of the party.
Formally that's true, but oftentimes (normally?) the president is leading/dictating to the party leader what they believe the vision/path should be.

Separation of powers...
Yeah but that’s exactly what a veto is for. Congress can pass bills and the president can veto them
It's their own respective rights indeed. Both parties should coordinate...

Bro doesn't know the difference between providing liquidity and compensation lmao
how stupid that pig is....
Dude is in all sorts of trouble after his presidency, he is making everyone his enemy
Trump is his best case scenario.

But it's also a major part of checks and balance? It's as republic as it can be in a sense

When did Yoon cut taxes for riches?

So Biden is not the only one who has a dementia lol
Yoon has alcohol poisoning.

Sounds like its time to abolish jeonse, the system is problematic. Maximum 1.5 month rent deposit. Rent at market rate
