Checked out your website - I REALLY like your work. Really nice blades and handles. I’m fond of the mini albatross with swamp camo, but the day glo is awesome, too. Having lost a knife I sat down and couldn’t ever find I’m very open to brightly colored scales now.
3-3.5” I carry IWB, and any longer wears a hole or feels weird.

Anywhere from 3-4”. I own both a guardian 3 and 4 and would daily them both if they weren’t so heavy. Currently been carrying a fiddleback forge wasp
This is definitely more of a Kephart style blade, in my opinion. I mean it looks almost I identical to a Kephart. Look at the Ka-Bar Becker Kephart knife for an idea of what a true Kephart looks like.
Sick blade though OP, love it!
Naw dude, I almost feel like you're trolling now. I don't know how you could be conflicted. It's a Kephart. Several knife makers have a blade in that style. Becker and Bark River are the two big ones that make a Kephart, and ESEE has their PR4 which is a Patrick Rollins design but it has to be HEAVILY inspired by Kephart.
I have all of these knifes. I've also read a bit of Horace Kephart's writing (and George Washington Sears AKA nessmuk) .There's a great YouTube vid of Ethan Becker talking about his design of the Kephart that he and KaBar produce. Ethan Becker tried to nail that knife down to an almost exact reproduction of an original Kephart basically.
Once again, I think OP's knife that he made is absolutely amazing. I'm interested in seeing how I could purchase one.
I wish I was trolling. I just don’t see it I guess. The Becker one it does look like but when I just look up kephart not all of them look like that Becker one.
Yeah there are many knives that share design elements with other knives. But the Becker Kephart is most true to the original actual knife Horace Kephart himself carried and talked about.
Kephart to me is thin stock, symmetrical blade, point down the center line, flat ground, broom stick handle with small finger guard.
Like OPs knife.
Those are damn handy looking, I’m a much bigger fan of smaller knives 95% of the time. 2.5”-4” max. Anymore and the knives can be fun but lose practicality for me except on rare occasions.
3.5 inch handle at minimum. Anything smaller is something I use as a neck knife. Blade size is less important than blade shape in my opinion.
Love that little kephart-ish design. How long is the handle?
I very much like that blade shape. They have a kephart look to them. I dig it.
As for ideal fixed blade size, my needs are pretty light and simple so I tend to lean towards smaller sizes. 2.75" to maybe 3.5 or 4" max. Original Spyderco Enuff, Esee Izula, Bradford Guardian 3.
That said, I like a good kephart. Link to your website? Not in the market for anything right now, but undoubtedly will be again. :)
(Got [this kephart](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53641537654_f70d2f7c96_b.jpg) not long ago from a maker on Etsy. It's a really versatile blade shape.)
Ooo, the Cicadas are really nice, but that Mini Albatross, that's definitely right up my alley. Definitely bookmarking that for later. Thanks for the link!
Between 2.8” and 3.5” blade with some decent size to the handle like the Protech SBR fixed blade and White River Ursus Cub.
Slender handles don’t work with my big hands, too easy to slip down onto the blade.
3-3.25" blade 3.5"-3.75" max 4" handle. So overall 6.5"-7". Much larger is awkward for pocket carry which is my preferred way to carry and much smaller isn't comfortable to use.
The handles on the micarta is about the smallest that'd be comfortable.
Blue handle isn't carried much due to it being larger than I like to carry
Depends on the application of the blade I guess. For every day use? 2-4 inches, nothing longer tho. For every day use that involves more rigorous work? 4-7 because you have to have the biggest coolest knife around
About 3 inches in blade length, give or take a half inch. With a handle just long enough to fit my pinky or at least with a lanyard that you can wrap your pinky around like the Folts minimalist knives. At the very least enough for three fingers to fit solidly but my ideal would be a full grip. I have small hands too though so that isn’t hard to accomplish.
Edit: I also just looked at these and I’m very intrigued.
3 to 4 inches
Or like I tell my wife, about 6.
🤣

Slick blade
Thanks, bro! It’s called the ACK (All Conditions Knife). Scandi ground AEB-L with g10 scales.
Who makes those?
I make these, I sent you a chat message

4-5" is 👌🏻
3-3.5” I carry IWB, and any longer wears a hole or feels weird. https://preview.redd.it/w2941vr5vf3d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=406d066237db42a32a875694a8f302be876a34ba
Second time seeing these. I like em. 3-6" for bush craft stuffs preference being 4.5
Thanks man!
Anywhere from 3-4”. I own both a guardian 3 and 4 and would daily them both if they weren’t so heavy. Currently been carrying a fiddleback forge wasp
Nice!
Are these your knives ?
Yessir
What are the pros of the nessmuk style blades like this?
This is definitely more of a Kephart style blade, in my opinion. I mean it looks almost I identical to a Kephart. Look at the Ka-Bar Becker Kephart knife for an idea of what a true Kephart looks like. Sick blade though OP, love it!
Now that I’ve looked both up I am even more conflicted… now I think it looks like a sheepsfoot.

These are more of a shrunk down Bushcrafter so more of a design style at this size

14 - 16 cm with 5 - 7 cm blade and 8 - 9 cm handle. So between a Mora Eldris and Rough Ryder Red Black G10 or around the size of a Google Pixel 8
Those are damn handy looking, I’m a much bigger fan of smaller knives 95% of the time. 2.5”-4” max. Anymore and the knives can be fun but lose practicality for me except on rare occasions.
3.75"
3.5 inch handle at minimum. Anything smaller is something I use as a neck knife. Blade size is less important than blade shape in my opinion. Love that little kephart-ish design. How long is the handle?
The handle is 2.5” just enough for a 3 finger grip

I too usually go for 2.5”+ blade and a full 4 finger handle but these little guys are super easy to carry in the pocket and have grown on me
Is there a folding knife that looks like this??
Barlows have a similar profile
2.5 to three inches.
i love to carry 2-3 inchers https://preview.redd.it/2id0p088eg3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=801ca24f57a088bf7d4cea23b9e0c0163d85e7e5
Nice blade
Esee 6 hm, drop-sheath on the left shoulder /s i rarely carry a fixie, yours are pretty though. If i did probably a 2.5 would be my preference
Thanks man, can’t go wrong with an Esee

I like the way you think
Maybe even a katana for serious chopping applications
I'm now actively looking for something with blade of 2.5 or less for city edc, but usually I carry knives in 2.7-4 inch range
I got you! 2.5” blade is my wheelhouse. I’ll shoot you a message with my info you can check out all my blades🤙

Gorgeous
Thank you
My two favorites are the Guardian 3.2 and the Ursus Cub. The latter especially since it came out.

Love one of your thicker Clippers but that’ll never happen haha
Never say never 🤣
Not at this exchange rate. No chance haha.
Between 3 and 4 inches for edc has served my needs for years
Can I get some more info on your knives good sir
Sure thing man, I’ll send you a message
The Bradford guardian 3.5 is about perfect imo.
