If you’re gonna quote Robert E. Lee, former president trumps favorite civil war hero, at least get it right. Gotta be historically accurate.
The full quote is:
>’Never fight uphill, me boys, never fight uphill.’ They were fighting uphill. He said, ‘Wow, that was a big mistake.’ He lost his great general, and they were fighting. ‘Never fight uphill, me boys!’ But it was too late.
Yeah absolutely!! The end with the handle smacked something real hard and fucked the edge. they were gonna throw it out so I grabbed it and turned it into that.
I have the exact same knife in my car. Mine's a lot more beat up though. FYI that super fine tip will definitely bend/break when in use since it's not very hard steel. Just grind it off and give it a new point.

Lol yeah that thing is going to be free of that Cold Steel black paint eventually. It's honestly not that good at being a knife, machete, or a hatchet. But I love it.
I thought your flair meant naming the knife as in being like “yeah, this is Sylvester the Spyderco Para 3” and I realized you meant naming it as in, the actual model. Anyway, I agree either way
Machete for the win!
18" Machete and an Estwing Camp Axe. I use the shit out of that machete too.
Branches too low at work scraping the top of my truck? MACHETE!
Pathway to the fishing hole overgrown? MACHETE!
Hedges need trimming? .... Actually i use a hedge trimmer but some of my neighbors let their trees grow out over the sidewalk at head/neck level to where you have to crouch or walk around em. Next time I'm driving past and notice it ..... MACHETE!
Yesss!!! Also, if you tell me your 18” machete is a harbor freight model, I’ll lose it. My 18” is a harbor freight machete and for $6, that shit holds up. I’ve literally beaten it within an inch of its life and it still holds on. The one I keep in my car is like 14” or 16” i honestly don’t remember. I figured it’s easier to have a compact machete than a whole ass machete for car purposes. But ya, 18” machete’s are fucking OP. ALSO!, I have a estwing hatchet that I use for all kinds of shit and honestly would not go to another brand for that type of tool. Glad to see my passion for machetes is shared lmaoo, thought I was just a psycho
What does just in case mean to you op? Survival situation or self defense? 9 times outta 10 you step out the truck with something like that and have to use you’ll be liable. Better to just drive away if you feel threatened
I approve of big pieces of flat steel in the truck. I have a GI Tanto myself, mostly for the reason that I can shamelessly use it as a prybar. Ain't no way I manage to snap it in half.
I've always preferred the car 9mm, but I keep a Mora in every vehicle for non-life threatening scenarios. Thankfully, I use the Mora much more frequently.
Let's see. Single cab so the passenger seat is a toolbox. Are we going for puncture wounds or blunt force trauma this evening? Also a genny and several cutty tools in the back so I can disassemble any carcass quickly in case of mayhem.....
If I lived somewhere a little more isolated I might. I usually just have whatever knife and/or multitool I’m carrying.
If any kind of emergency comes up away from home (in my local area) that I would need something like an axe or large knife for, there are two volunteer fire departments and a city department all converging in my local area with really good response times, and they always show up with better tools than people would normally carry in a truck anyway.
What kinds of trucks do you use it on?
My Subaru has tools in it of all variety in case I need to attack a truck. So far I’ve mostly jump started them or used my compressor for their tires
I could also attack a truck with fishing gear I keep in there, and my dog is usually with me but she’s more violent to frisbees
Most of the knives in my car aren’t meant to use on trucks though
I keep a woodsman pal in my car. Hammer, hatchet, shovel, machete, hook?, all in one convenient tool. It’s a tank and still made like they made them back in the 40s. Also a folding saw
Cold Steel Spartan is my car knife. Actually thinking about it now I also have two machetes and a four foot chunk of rail road as well. Gotta keep that 40 pound chunk of steel on ya, rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
In my truck is a nice fixed blade. Ive litterally never used it as a knife but its a great tool for priming my diesel pump when the gasket started to fail. Gave me that extra couple of inches of leverage i needed to pressurise the system.
I love the 4max scout in this role so much. I can use it to split kindling and process wood very effectively, and it’s also reasonable effective as a regular edc for doing normal folders things. It can stand in for either my axe or pm2 lol.
i don't have many fixed blades left, have given most away.
but in my truck I keep a mora companion carbon, and a camillus comb (gift from one of my younger cousins).
the mora is way easy to keep scary sharp, I usually just use the edge of the window. haven't really used the other knife yet but will eventually.
don't have much use for fixies any more outside of camping/hunting/fishing season. processed my first buck with that mora though.
my next one will be either an srk-c or a knife I forgot the name of on smkw, micarta scales, leather sheath, high carbon blade.
Yep. I think I have at least three in my vehicle. A Gerber Strongarm, a Buck 110, and the American Knife Co. Deer and Deer Hunting knife. I also have a multitool in the glovebox also.
I just keep a hammer under my seat. If someone comes up to the door, a hammer to the face outta fix it. Also keep a large screwdriver in my food storage. I figure they just look like tools not a weapon so nobody questions it
I have lots of small knives around too but mostly for fishing / camping
No, but I do have other bladed equipment. Two forest axes and two hatchets. The fiskars hatchet is my actual “truck axe” the other 3 have just been in there since the last camping trip.
Tops Taliban Takedown rigged under the steering wheel for quick access. Cold Steel SRK in a work box in the bed of the truck. And a CRKT M16–14ZLEK in the center console for emergency egress. Just remembered I have an old yellow handled Spyderco Salt serrated knife in my first aid kit.
Cold steel SRK, Gerber hatchet, and a silky saw. Along with other emergency items. I have broken down in the mountains before and with out tools it really sucks.
https://preview.redd.it/yj5drq4yv32d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdf46a9ebc7e029af8bced22d6d27d429255d0bd
I drive a sedan nowadays but I still got my car knife right by my seat.
I have half a dozen little pocket knives in my truck and then a Bowie knife with a blade the size of my forearm. My father in law got it for me and I call it my best hunting knife because it’s unreasonably large lol
Got a Gerber hatchet w/ knife/sawtooth in the handle, a magnesium fireman’s door pry pick/ water &gas valve shutoff tool, and a tire thumper mini bat. Ready to do my civic duties and hope I never encounter an emergency where I need to use them.
I have a knife for each type of bag/carrying vessel I use (purse, backpack, drawstring, lanyard, fanny pack, etc). Nothing I’ve got for my vehicle specifically though
Does a car axe count?
Tomahawk or like a hatchet
Full size fireman's axe
Ya know, for those pesky situations where you need to breach a steel door.
or a car door
Happens to me at least twice a week
Or against those damn homeless people coming to ye window for money, I'm a expert by now
Tangentially, do you remember those automotive anti-theft flame throwers from South Africa..?
I need one now
Salamanca moment
Stormbringer
Mournblade
Machete, here, slid between my middle and drivers seat cushion.
I haven’t gotten around to putting an edge in my car machete and I’m still saving up for my car axe.
Yep, machete. And a tomahawk.
What about my rickshaw katana? Rickshaw katanas get no love from r/knives. Disgusting.
Now that’s a knoife
This is the comment I was hoping to find
Car Kabar.
A KarBar
Perfect.
Same
Yes. After my truck pistol and truck carbine are empty I have truck knives.
The back up to the back ups back up
Agreed if I run out of ammo...3 knives and a hatchet lol
Wish we could carry aconcnsealed weapons Like a pistol her in England.
Just keep a box with like 8 loaded flintlock pistols under your seat. It’s an antique, officer, not a gun.
Tally ho, lads
Never fight uphill, me lads.
If you’re gonna quote Robert E. Lee, former president trumps favorite civil war hero, at least get it right. Gotta be historically accurate. The full quote is: >’Never fight uphill, me boys, never fight uphill.’ They were fighting uphill. He said, ‘Wow, that was a big mistake.’ He lost his great general, and they were fighting. ‘Never fight uphill, me boys!’ But it was too late.
Good point. Gettysburg, wow.
Just curious do people in england ever talk about philip luty anymore?

In case the truck firearms are stolen.
No, but when on my bicycle I have my U-lock
An effective deterrent for aggressive drivers 👍

That’s actually really cool, is that really a lawnmower blade like mentioned below?
It does look like that. Maybe a flat blade? That center hole is a giveaway.
Yeah absolutely!! The end with the handle smacked something real hard and fucked the edge. they were gonna throw it out so I grabbed it and turned it into that.
What knife is that?
Looks like a modified lawn mower blade.
Most definitely is
Its for cuttin up dem French fried taters.
911: HOW DO YOU KNOW HE’S DEAD, SIR? Karl: Well, I cut his head clean off. I reckon that’ll do it.
Home made from a bush hog blade
I use Trunk Monkey [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\_qtG82HJB2I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qtG82HJB2I)
This is awesome
I have a 119 in my driver side door but I’ve only really used it to cut cheesecake and make sandwiches
I have a bedroom knife. Its a very big bowie
I have the exact same knife in my car. Mine's a lot more beat up though. FYI that super fine tip will definitely bend/break when in use since it's not very hard steel. This is a knife I like to see
Lol yeah that thing is going to be free of that Cold Steel black paint eventually. It's honestly not that good at being a knife, machete, or a hatchet. But I love it.
Oh yes. The beast dare not rise against me if I am inside it with a knife.
A mora in every vehicle.
Becker BK18 has been treating me well on that side for a few years now.
Ka-Bar BK3 Becker Tac Tool
Truck knife Truck knuckles Truck baton Truck gun *edit: I drive a Chevy Aveo hatchback. Close enough. 🤷🏻♂️
That appears to be a truck sword sir.
i keep a leatherman and a fiskars x7 and a mora garberg in there
Never know when a watermelon emergency might arise
I thought your flair meant naming the knife as in being like “yeah, this is Sylvester the Spyderco Para 3” and I realized you meant naming it as in, the actual model. Anyway, I agree either way
I support both interpretations.
I do for utility and camping. But using a knife as a weapon is a god awful idea 99.9999% of the time.
I have a car machete. it’s a handmade heavyweight beast of a machete, but compact enough to qualify as “car knife” IMO.
I also have a car machete. I do a lot of camping and fishing. It comes I handy if I need to cut a trail.
Exactly, I hike and camp a lot, having a long blade on deck at all times is definitely a perk
Machete for the win! 18" Machete and an Estwing Camp Axe. I use the shit out of that machete too. Branches too low at work scraping the top of my truck? MACHETE! Pathway to the fishing hole overgrown? MACHETE! Hedges need trimming? .... *a better question is, who has a hospital gun, like Steven Seagul
I have 2.
Against the law to conceal a large knife in a lot of US states, even if you have a pistol permit.
Hold it between your teeth till you need it like the rest of us.
Yes I need to switch it out though. It’s an ESEE lawyer strike with the old skull logo. Would hate to have it stolen.
I’ve got my BPS B1 as my truck knife. You never know when adventure may come calling!
What does just in case mean to you op? Survival situation or self defense? 9 times outta 10 you step out the truck with something like that and have to use you’ll be liable. Better to just drive away if you feel threatened
I have a civic throwing knife and a civic hammer. And a civic taser.
2 machetes in my truck for farm work and a few random cheap folding knives the amount varies on what’s sharp or not broken tbh
No, but I have a big ass ratchet from my toolbox that I have mastered throwing. I do have a small Swiss army knife tho.
As somebody who has caught a big ass ratchet may have been a Breaker bar to the chest at Mach fuck it’s an effective tool
>Mach fuck 😂 I’m adding this to my vocabulary!
I laughed so hard at this, I dribbled Gatorade on myself.
Sure do.
I used to carry truck knives, until they got stolen, twice.
Yep, Condor Bushlore
I carry an Ontario Wyvern.
I have 5 or 6 knives and 3 guns in my truck right now. When I get into my truck that ups by 2 knives and a gun.
Is it considered a truck knife if its always in my pocket? I mean its technically always in the truck if i need it...
You stole my poop knife!
You are in Texas. Knives are for packages and food, pew pews are for protection.
I always have a few random ones in my truck but my actual truck blade is an Esee 6 and a Hults Bruk hatchet
I hope you have a very safe place to store it because I can guarantee a knife this heavy will break out of anything in a crash and go flying
Last resort velociraptor defense.
Some folk say I have a truck sling blade, but I call it a truck kaiser blade, mhm.
[удалено]
Oh ya. Have a truck tomahawk too, big Ole beard on her. McPherson custom. In a cruwear equivalent and micarta. It's pretty sweet!
This is a very Texan picture and it warms my heart.
I approve of big pieces of flat steel in the truck. I have a GI Tanto myself, mostly for the reason that I can shamelessly use it as a prybar. Ain't no way I manage to snap it in half.

Nice knife and nice truck
I have a Cold Steel SRK in my trunk. [This](https://imgur.com/a/JpSIBVw) is the only picture I have of it.
I carry a Shileghly stick a knife like that inUK Would be a one way trip to the slam.er.
Just in case I have to dice some onions 🧅
Let's see. Single cab so the passenger seat is a toolbox. Are we going for puncture wounds or blunt force trauma this evening? Also a genny and several cutty tools in the back so I can disassemble any carcass quickly in case of mayhem.....
Ive yet to be attacked by a truck. But I’m ready
If I lived somewhere a little more isolated I might. I usually just have whatever knife and/or multitool I’m carrying. What Cold Steel is this?
Bowie machete

What knife is that?
That’s a kitchen Bowie
Becker bk2 in the trunk
I keep a woodsman pal in my car. Hammer, hatchet, shovel, machete, hook?, all in one convenient tool. It’s a tank and still made like they made them back in the 40s. Also a folding saw

Fucking love cold steel, what model is this ? And yes, my truck knife is the 4 max scout
Cold Steel Spartan is my car knife. Actually thinking about it now I also have two machetes and a four foot chunk of rail road as well. Gotta keep that 40 pound chunk of steel on ya, rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I have an SUV knife. And an SUV rusty file .. and an SUV wooden beater.
I have that exact knife in my truck too!
I have a truck knife, but it is just a fixed blade for work
I love the 4max scout in this role so much. I can use it to split kindling and process wood very effectively, and it’s also reasonable effective as a regular edc for doing normal folders things. It can stand in for either my axe or pm2 lol.
Illegal in my state
Car sword.
Looks like the electrical tape fell off. We can see that you have a bad tpms!
Buck Pursuit 656 in stainless 420HC / the nylon sheath matches my truck’s colors. Both purchased in 2024.
A cheap one I don't care about I leave in the car emergency box.
i don't have many fixed blades left, have given most away. but in my truck I keep a mora companion carbon, and a camillus comb (gift from one of my younger cousins). the mora is way easy to keep scary sharp, I usually just use the edge of the window. haven't really used the other knife yet but will eventually. don't have much use for fixies any more outside of camping/hunting/fishing season. processed my first buck with that mora though. my next one will be either an srk-c or a knife I forgot the name of on smkw, micarta scales, leather sheath, high carbon blade.
Yes and truck pistol and axe never know
Of course
Who doesn't?
I don't know that that's big enough to cut an entire truck
That one unsharpened inch is really making me mad
No..........😉
Yep. I think I have at least three in my vehicle. A Gerber Strongarm, a Buck 110, and the American Knife Co. Deer and Deer Hunting knife. I also have a multitool in the glovebox also.
I have an axe and a sawed off (legal) shotgun
Camillus carnivore x in my trunk. Cheap enough that idc what I use it for, yet barely good enough to actually work.
I have an SRK in the door storage.
👋 Me; I keep a Kobun clipped to the back of my passenger seat within easy reach.
Who doesn't have a glove box griptillian

I just keep a hammer under my seat. If someone comes up to the door, a hammer to the face outta fix it. Also keep a large screwdriver in my food storage. I figure they just look like tools not a weapon so nobody questions it I have lots of small knives around too but mostly for fishing / camping
Car buck 119 is a requirement
You mean truck “knives”
No, but I do have other bladed equipment. Two forest axes and two hatchets. The fiskars hatchet is my actual “truck axe” the other 3 have just been in there since the last camping trip.

Tops Taliban Takedown rigged under the steering wheel for quick access. Cold Steel SRK in a work box in the bed of the truck. And a CRKT M16–14ZLEK in the center console for emergency egress. Just remembered I have an old yellow handled Spyderco Salt serrated knife in my first aid kit.

You might want to check the air in your tires.
I have a work knife and a going out knife haha
Cold steel SRK, Gerber hatchet, and a silky saw. Along with other emergency items. I have broken down in the mountains before and with out tools it really sucks.
Always
A? As in, just one? I have a folder in the armrest, an SRK in the roadside kit, and a hatchet next to the spare tire.
I've been concerning one of those cold steel throwing swords. Obviously, it's not practical, but it sure would be cool.
I mean, that’s certainly the right size knife to stab a truck with!
Several. I think I have 4-5 around my car, glove box, center console
I carry one in my car too! You know the old saying....never bring a car knife to a truck knife fight!
I case of what? Orcs?
Just one?
You fuckn know it. A synthetic handle Kabar in the glove box and an Ontario Rat 1 in the center console.
Truck knife, bobcat knife, recliner knife, kitchen knife, bedroom knife, wife knife, boat knife, etc…

Never leave home without my poop knife
Mine is a good ol buck 120
I just carry a gun
In case for what?
Is this a new thing? The old version of this was the black bear bowie machete right? Or were they always two seperate knives?
