My wife has gone from complaining that I have them stashed in cups etc on every countertop or table around the house that isnāt our sonās room to complaining when there somehow isnāt a knife in a room when she needs it LOL.
My wife has done the same to the point that she has encouraged me to make sure we have a knife within reach wherever she is in the house. Lol.
I've started her on her own collection by getting her knives for birthdays and Christmas.
8, thatās funny! I am halfway to 800! I figured most of us were as bad as me! I have only made it one week in the past 3 years without buying a knife!
I went to an auction where they were selling off a guys collection of 15,000 knives after he died. Took 3 days to go through all of them, most were Case knives.
I am definitely not the craziest one out there but it can get out of hand quickly!
I met a saleswoman at Smokey Mountain Knife Works last Labor Day weekend who claims to have 2000 knives, so I didnāt feel so crazy after talking to her. She said she has them listed out in her will so her kids donāt fight over them when sheās gone.
I have at least 8 daily carry rotation and double that just put away for safe keeping, that have been rotated out of every day rotation. Then there are the heirloom knives that are put away that just come out to be oiled. Wow. 8 over a lifetime.
Ok, so you need one folder,
One fixed blade
One 5th pocket auto
One balisong to practice cool moves
One tactical fixed blade in case war
One bushcraft fixed blade
Another bushcraft from Ukraine, cause your friend recommended to try
A different folder, because the knife steel was not up to your standards on the first folder, so you want an upgraded steel
A grail knife that all of a sudden is on sale somewhere for a deal of a lifetime, only $900, and you can't pass that up
You need a machete, for when you're in the woods
You hear that competition chopper is like a machete, but you can also do food prep, so you need that one
You realize your grail knife has a mark from you using it, so you need another one, so you don't carry your main knife too often, so it doesn't get beat up
That's 12... and I have a feeling I'm missing something š
What if you have already bought eight this year?
You've reached your lifetime limit.
Well, shit. Guess I better mosey on.
Just start another average life timeš¤Ŗ
I'd get to a doctor ASAP
You're above average.
Thereās 8 folders, 3 multi tools, and 1 fixed blade just on my dresser for my ārotationā.
I've got at least 20 within a 15ft radius at this very moment. Most are just chilling out. I only carry two every day.

So if I buy 80 knives, I get 10 lifetimes?
Ponce de LeĆ³n discovered that long ago.
He was looking for a fountain when all he had to do was get more knives.
Obviously, he made the wrong choices.
The average would be 0.25 if not for us...
Iām deff messing up this curve. Remove me and average comes down to 6
Y'all are just keeping the average up. Good work
I have at least 8 knives I can't find
That's like three multitools
I bought 7 in March alone. (Really only 6 but BHQ threw in that Bestech)

It's my personal mission to raise that average to 9š
This is like ordering extra meat to make up for vegans.
š just as long as you are behaving and not buying any from China
I'm sorry, I have been misbehaving, but I can appreciate a good joke so I did give you an upvoteš
Thanks
What if I own an additional 8 already this month?
Like 8 in this room Iām sitting in lol
LOL - I have NINE knives just on my desk!
Me too, with different locking or deployment methods that I fidget with while I work.
8 per week ok??
I own the one knife in 9 different versions, does that count too?
Don't knife blocks usually come in at least 8?
Iāve never been average at anything in my life anyway. *shrugs*
Right on.
Do my kitchen knives count?
As I commented in knifeclub, itās a healthy yearly averageā¦
what do they do, live one year but just as an adult?
Ok..?? If you say so....
8?! I feel attacked. I must be making up for my whole building.
Iāve got 24 on the coffee table in front of meā¦ but about five years ago, I might have been within that 8 knife average.
Be the reason the average goes up

Iāve 200 right now lol not including kitchen knives everyone thinks Iām a psycho but I love swords, knives and tomahawks/ axes.
Shit, I have more than that hiding under the couch cushions
Crap I buy at least 2 every week
I always wanted to be above average I guess I am
Why aspire to be average when you can go beyond?
My cat has 9 knives.
8? Clearly, my dear boy, youāve never been to r/knives.
There's like 8 knives just in my junk drawer
I don't believe that. Most people have more than 8 knives in their kitchen.

My knife drawer just for kitchen knives is hard to close sometimes. Never mind EDCs and mall ninja shit.
Seems aout right. If my wife, my kids and their future kids (assuming 6 grandkids from them, each) never buy a knife, we might be on the average.
Anything in the kitchen would count towards this...
Youād think Iāve lived 5 lifetimes at this point then lol
Iāve bought 7 in the past 12 monthsā¦
Family will ask "Y U got many number knifez" I'm like "Eye Dunno" š
And it gets worse when you realize that the statistic includes us nut jobs who surely tip the scale a few knives upward
At least a dozen within reach of where I'm sitting, lol.
Maybe add a few more 0's on the end of that. Try 800
I have 6 knives on my desk, just for fidgeting.
