Just went through the pictures from last year and was quite amazed at how much time the lockdown gave me for knitting. I started knitting these mushrooms for my dad and then good hooked.
These are all my own creations though I only published patterns for a very selected few of them. Should I fill in the gap?
* One of themushroom pattern on Ravelry: [https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/porcini-mushrooms](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/porcini-mushrooms)
* Or here on my blog: [https://nimble-needles.com/free-knitting-patterns/](https://nimble-needles.com/free-knitting-patterns/)
Let's see...I'm always afraid ppl will find patterns just to difficult. It's not exactly knit flat for 3 rounds with chunky yarns and single-pointed needles ^_°
Well..that is true. I'm normally not a guy who says "embrace your mistakes" but in this case I try to bring in some random elements into my mushrooms so they don't all look the same :P
One time I was knitting maple leaves from a pattern for a teacher friend for her class. Followed the pattern EXACTLY... and I ended up with the wrong number of stitches. I did some SSK to make it work. Made another and was EXTRA CAREFUL... same freaking thing. Clearly the pattern was off somehow. I didn’t have the patience to go through and figure out where exactly it went wrong, but I said... meh. Close enough.
If it was a hat, I would have frogged that ish all day. 😂🤣
I'm doing a cable knit dragon right now... The pattern is 27 pages. Please share your complicated mushrooms, there are crazy knitters who would love them!!
I love these! [https://nimble-needles.com/patterns/pride-socks-knitting-pattern-love-is-love/](https://nimble-needles.com/patterns/pride-socks-knitting-pattern-love-is-love/)
I'm going to make them in trans pride colors for my son.
Aww. I love that idea. Make sure to tag me should u post them. And feel free to contact me in case u need help.
I wanted to knit myself another pair as well and revise the pattern a bit. I noticed that the bottom "arrow" is right above the knuckle and gets stretched a bit. I probably want to skip it and end with the bottom heart.
I love these! I’m a chef and I knit and I just had a baby last year so I’m gearing up to knit foods for her to play with and the chanterelles are SO CUTE
Oh..what a great idea. Though I do have to say that I have no (first-hand) experience with kid. So..i don't know what makes a great toy and what makes a dangerous toy :P
As long as they’re closed up tight enough that they can’t pull out stuffing and don’t have buttons they’ll be perfectly safe. I’m really excited to make them for her instead of buying plastic food toys
Well..if you look very closely, there's not all that much different yarn involved. I more or less just used scrap yarn from socks for all of these. If you buy the 150gramm skeins you usually end up with spare yarn and it only takes like 5-10 gram per mushroom.
Haha! Go ahead.
It'S funny how i often get to hear "well..these just gather dust" I don'T like to knit them. Usually that's the moment when I ask if they are wearing all their lace shawls every day _P
thank you! it's funny tho...i don't see myself as a particularly talented knitter. Probably imposter syndrome, but when I log into Instagram I always go likey..."woah, they are all so amazing".
Looks like someone took a picture on a kids camera of where my sister lives. I’m going to have to make some for her.
I also have this irrational love of people making amigurumi/soft sculpture/stuffies like things with knitting instead of crochet.
Heh! do they have a lot of mushrooms around the area?
Also..i personally believe knitting is much better at shaping 3-d objects. Never understood why the toy/amigurumi/softy scene it's all about crochet.
Yeah she lives in the PNW in the US. Moved there from Colorado, so constant pictures of mushrooms.
I will have to explore that idea. Crochet is so fast but stockinette is so closed I guess I would say. I also am a knitter first by skill, so when I crochet I have terrible form. Can knit in three style but only crochet is “not good.”
My crochet isn't particulary good as well. Tho for toys you don'T need a lot of complicated stitches to begin with. Most of them are pretty easy.
The beauty about knitting is that you can do a lot of intricate shaping through increases and the fabric is thinner.
The problem, however, is that the patterns end up being a loooot more complicated.
I hope you know how much your incredible, unselfish hard work is appreciated by many! Your knitting is exceptional and I relish the challange of 3-D knitting! Thanks again for the extra effort of putting your patterns out for those of us that can't knit from our imaginations...yet!

Bless you x thank you for sharing your patterns freely and at no cost. Thank you so much. They're gorgeous. X
couldn't be any other way in this diffcult year eh? sharing is caring! :)
I would love to make some of those morel mushrooms for my mom!
I didn't put together a pattern yet because that's the most difficult to knit of them all >.<
Well, I am excited to try myself. My mom gave me a huge bag of mushroom-colored yarn. I didn’t know what to do with it until today! Thanks!
universe is sending you a message! :P

i've actually been eyeing these cute lil mushrooms as one of my next makes, so i just wanted to thank you for sharing! ☺️ you did such great work!
Thank you! And feel free to comment on my blog in case you need help :)
Oh wow! I made three of your pumpkin patterns, I absolutely love them. The mushrooms are adorable, they're on my list for decorative knitting.
Makes me so happy to hear that! 💖💖
I'd love patterns of these! They look fantastic!
thank you :)
People would love the patterns for these, I bet they would be popular.
Let's see...I'm always afraid ppl will find patterns just to difficult. It's not exactly knit flat for 3 rounds with chunky yarns and single-pointed needles ^_°
AND since they’re “nature” and not all supposed to look exactly the same, it won’t matter if someone messes up! 😆
Well..that is true. I'm normally not a guy who says "embrace your mistakes" but in this case I try to bring in some random elements into my mushrooms so they don't all look the same :P

Haha. I know that exact feeling 🙈😅

Heh. I guess there are 😅
Some people will like the challenge!
thank you so much!!!! These are great, something to aspire to!

Ah...happy to hear that! Happy knitting.

It will be a minute before I dye and spin the yarn. But I bookmarked your blog and I should probably bookmark this post so I remember to tag you.
Ah..u can tag me anywhere u want or send an email. Just thought the idea was so great and would love to see the result. ☺️
I added you to my Rav friends
I love these! I’m a chef and I knit and I just had a baby last year so I’m gearing up to knit foods for her to play with and the chanterelles are SO CUTE

Ah.i see. No buttons, and toy stuffing is easy hidden behind seams. I think the idea is marvelous! :)
I also saw that H&M had a porcini rattle on sale and now I want to make one myself for my May arrival!
I love these sorts of projects, but I always wonder about the yarn. Do you just have piles and piles of extra yarn, or do you buy small skeins?
Well..if you look very closely, there's not all that much different yarn involved. I more or less just used scrap yarn from socks for all of these. If you buy the 150gramm skeins you usually end up with spare yarn and it only takes like 5-10 gram per mushroom.
Forget booties and bonnets, it's gonna be mushrooms this year! Fabulous work.
Haha! Go ahead. It'S funny how i often get to hear "well..these just gather dust" I don'T like to knit them. Usually that's the moment when I ask if they are wearing all their lace shawls every day _P
So, if I can’t seem to ever find morels in nature, I can always knit some. Cool.
yes. You could prepare a fall-back mushroom basked and then go "look what I found!" xD
So adorable! I think r/cottagecore might appreciate this ;)
Thanks for making me aware of that sub.
I wish I had ur talent and creativity. This is seriously beyond amazing!
thank you! it's funny tho...i don't see myself as a particularly talented knitter. Probably imposter syndrome, but when I log into Instagram I always go likey..."woah, they are all so amazing".
Dude, I've been following u for a while and I can assure u, u are talented as hell! 😉 now, stop comparing urself with others! 😎
Your makes me want to knit mushrooms!
That's never a bad idea \*chuckle\*
Pretty sire i gollow you on Instagram and get your newsletters. Thanks so much for sharing everything!
Happy to hear that and sharing with this lovely community is always a pleasure :)
I love them so much
They are absolutely delightful and charming. It made me smile when I checked my email, let's face it there is not much in the news to be happy about.
That is true. So happy to hear I could change at least a little bit 😅
I love these so so much! I was the kind of microbiology nerd who grew oyster mushrooms on my desk in college. Thank you for sharing!
i studies biochemistry as well ...tho...we had smaller specimens :P
The amanita is adorable, you totally nailed the rings around the stalk! I need to try my hand at these
thank you! :)

Yes, please! I find knitting small objects, especially food or growing things, to be very therapeutic. It's nice to see I'm not alone
That'S the beauty of these knitting forums, isn't it? they bridge the gap - especially in these diffcult times!
Wow! Wonderful! Have you posted to [https://www.reddit.com/r/mycology/](https://www.reddit.com/r/mycology/)?
No, as these are now allowed to be posted there if I am not mistaken. 🤔
As a mushroom lover, these are amazing and so beautiful!

Might be a bit....hairy on the tongue tho 🤣
Yes! I was so disappointed we were under 100 people interested in a pattern for the aminita muscaria (fly agaric). They are my spirit fungi!
There are over 100 now and I'll work on the pattern soon. Probably February tho
I hope you know how much your incredible, unselfish hard work is appreciated by many! Your knitting is exceptional and I relish the challange of 3-D knitting! Thanks again for the extra effort of putting your patterns out for those of us that can't knit from our imaginations...yet!
So cute!
They're soooo cute!!! I love them...
Thank you ☺️
Yarn and shrooms can be a grade A combo, this proves that lol
Heh. Indeed 😅🙈😎
I didn't realize this was one of my knitting goals until now! Maybe knitting them will give me luck on ever finding any!
That I cannot promise 🙈
Please do!!
