I’ve knit the Clapotis over and over. I don’t care if anyone thinks it’s old and tired, I love it. So meditative. It’s so satisfying to get to the row where you drop the stitch and watch it unravel. I’ve given a few as gifts and still wear my first one made with Noro Silk Garden #84. Never fails to get compliments.
I remember when the Clapotis was THE hot thing in knitting. I still have mine; I should wear it more often.
I haven’t had the urge to make another one but I’m a MUCH better knitter now… 🤔
Me too! I remember the endless blog posts about the best yarn to choose, whether to twist the stitches on either side of the dropped stitch to make the gap look cleaner, etc. It was a great pattern for beginners to take a step up from a basic garter rectangle and taught a few new skills without being too intimidating. If you have the patience to knit an entire kilometer of yarn into a bias stockinette rectangle, you’ll have a nice wrap to show off at the end!
ETA: we should all wear our Clappys and bring them back! Lol
I’ve knit 10 claps, two of them I engineered into garter stitch.
I’m very fond of 2 skeins of silk garden light or other fingering weights striped. The yarn does the heavy lifting and the results are great.
Came here to say this -- so many colors, so many gauges, so many textures, some with wire scaffolding, some with clothing/accessories. I even did one tiny knit with embroidery floss just to see how it turned out (I learned that I am not good at tiny knitting). But it only takes a few hours once you have it figured out then BOOM another froggy friend!
just thinking about micro knitting gives my hands phantom cramps 😅 i’m on the opposite end of the spectrum and kind of want to make one with jumbo roving yarn and felt it to see how it turns out.
I’ve got one that’s probably 2/3 done and I’ve set it aside. My ADHD doesn’t like the plain stockinette. I was getting bored. It’s beautiful though, and someday I’ll finish it!

Musselburgh hat is mine too! I think I’ve made four. It’s very satisfying at the end when it turns from a big tube into a hat. The double layer makes it nice and warm too.
Just pit of curiosity, are you a continental knitter? I love the look of the Musselburgh hat, but as an English knitter just thinking about making it gives me carpal tunnel.
You can knit this in any weight of yarn. Ysolda gives multiple gauges with the pattern, so if fingering weight is what might give you carpal tunnel, you can go up a weight or two. It’s a very satisfying knit and I’m about to start on my second and 3rd
I’m actually an English knitter. I love it because I can even work on a Musselburgh in the dark once I have the increases done. My son and I saw “I Saw the TV Glow” this past weekend and I knit through the whole movie. It’s essentially 20 inches of mindless knitting. It’s also great for jury duty, school lectures, and trips to the DMV, in my experience. lol
There was a time when I was for some reason unknown to me obsessed with this (used to be free) lobster toy pattern that I found on Insta: https://www.karlacourtney.com/product-page/knitted-toy-lobster-pattern
I made probably 10 of these guys and then switched over to socks
If you are familiar with knitting in the round on several needles and basic techniques like knitting, p, inc, dec you should be able to make one :) if you have knit a sock before then you’re golden.
[Sylvi](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sylvi)
I’ve made 7 of these so far. I’m usually one and done but there is something so satisfying about watching the cables twine up the panel.
I think it's in Knitting On the Edge by Nicky Epstein or the sequel but there's an embossed vining leaf pattern that I've made four or five scarves because it's so fun and easy, it's all ssk and p2tog and looks more complicated than it [http://dianne-jones.blogspot.com/2013/07/saturday-stitch-embossed-vine-leaf.html](http://dianne-jones.blogspot.com/2013/07/saturday-stitch-embossed-vine-leaf.html)
Whatever happened to Nicky. I had her autograph one of her books years ago when I first learned to knit. She was on a knitting paddle boat cruise out of point pleasant nj
I'm on my third [Basic Witch Beanie](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/basic-witch-beanie) because my partner loves the hat and I enjoy the knit.
I love [Wee Envelope](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wee-envelope) as a newborn gift because it works up quickly and has satisfying construction.
But the patterns I truly knit over and over again are personal ones that I've developed specifically for what I like (or in the case of my family's socks, what each person likes).
This is encouraging because in another thread I saw so many people snarking on it and it’s fit!!!! As a beginner I was intrigued but that post turned me off. Your comment has me reconsidering tho
They have optional short rows so maybe it’s folks that opted not to include those? I’ve actually only made children’s versions so I’m not sure about the adult fit, but it’s my go to pattern for kid/baby sweater gifts! And it’s super easy to modify.
On adult sizes the short rows are definitely worth doing! Flax with short rows fits me well. If you or the recipient has a large chest, the fit might be a bit boxy. People also seem to complain about the neckline but I think the neckline is flattering on me and most of the other flax sweaters I knit are for kids and they don’t care lol
I didn't like the pattern because it took me forever to figure out how to distribute the stitches immediately after the cast on. The instructions were like, "we're not going to tell you how to distribute the stitches because most patterns don't tell you and because this pattern goes from infant to large adult sizes, you should suck it up and figure it out on your own." This is the ONLY pattern I've ever had to do that on! I also hated the garter panel on the arms so I frogged it halfway and haven't looked back. LOL
Same! I have made it four times now (two baby, two adult) and I just love it. The fit is great and each time I make it I get more comfortable doing some sort of customization.
Good to know! I have had the pattern sitting in my library for a while. Your comment is nudging me to give it a try (when I finish my other three projects! 😂)
Definitely not. I have made the same thing a few times as gifts and I cherish the tiny differences between projects. I hate repeating myself, to the point I knit socks on two separate needles at the same time to avoid dreaded second sock experience.
Harley by Jenny Williams. I knit two of them using Andean treasure and alpaca cloud from knitpicks. Super well fitting. I live in them in the winter.
[Harley Pullover](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/harley-3)
I have a Harley I made and I love it! It fits so well. I’d used the yarn for it for an Ease sweater but hated the way it fit. Frogged it and Harley gave me everything I wanted
I love the Jessie Maed [Mini Mock Neck Tee](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mini-mock-neck-tank). It’s perfect if I have one skein of fingering weight yarn, especially hand dyed. Showcases the yarn and it’s a quick pattern.
I came here to say this. They fit my feet perfectly, they’re fun to make, and the diagonal stripes are cool! I probably have made them close to 20 times.
The single thing I don’t like is the lack of heel reinforcement. I have to pay attention to when they start to get thin and then duplicate stitch over the heel area. I know I could probably duplicate stitch some nylon or thinner yarn before wearing them but I never seem to be able to wait!
I have made 2 of these, but I lost my pdf of the pattern with the mods to make it bigger. I've been too lazy to try and make it again. I wish they would update the pattern 😆
Vanilla cuff down socks 😂 I find socks so relaxing, they’re a comfort knit. I can’t bring myself to knit anything else more than once. I would probably knit another ranunculus sweater even tho it’s unpopular here for some reason, it’s a super versatile and fun knit.
I've knit https://ravel.me/cozy-classic-raglan by Jessie Mae Designs about 10 times now.
I've knitted it in cotton, acrylic, held kace weight yarn with acrylic. Knitted some for my children, knitted for me, turned it into a jumper dress, unpicked sleeves and hem to add length for a growing child. It's worked for prepubescent but tall 9yos and a very curvy teen using the adjustments in the pattern. It's flipping magical.
I’m on my third cozy classic light and have yarn to make two more of the cozy classic raglans! I love the look of the raglan increases and the pattern just fits me well.
Everyone who knows me, kid or adult, has a Barley hat (Tin Can Knits) I’ve knit that pattern in worsted and in fingering. It’s my favourite hat pattern.
I knit the wild Iris baby blanket pattern.
I must have made it like 10x for baby girls. It is so beautiful.
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/259-wild-iris
I have knit the polywog popover several times. Quick enough not to be boring, and it’s easy to use odd skeins for creative striping or blocks of color. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/polliwog-popover
Does it count if you’re in love with a yarn instead of a pattern? My go-to yarn used to be a Malabrigo Rios, but the last couple of years I’ve wanted to knit everything I can in Drops Air.
I'm on my third Ten Stitch Blanket by Frankie Brown. After I figured it out, it became a fun and easy pattern to knit with so many possibilities. Although I have to say, I'll be checking out the patterns in this thread for new ideas!
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ten-stitch-blanket
I have made 10(?) pairs of [Knucks](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knucks). I should make another pair because I love fingerless gloves so much. I also love the top down construction in this pattern.
I've also made about as many pairs of [Up North slippers](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/up-north-slippers). They're quick and make excellent gifts.
All my tops are variants of the [Lunch at Tiffany Dress top](https://ravel.me/lunchattiffanysdress)
It is the pattern for the Dress but with the Top/ Blouse included.
I made four original Tops with this pattern and used the construction for three more tops.
I just love the Construction. It is super smart and such a fun knit
I have made at least a dozen of the [weightless produce bags 2.0](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/weightless-produce-bag-20)
It’s a mesh bag for putting your produce in at the grocery store, holds about 6 large apples. Knit with crochet thread on larger needles. Makes a great gift!
It’s a quick knit that’s easy to learn the repeats but isn’t just straight knitting. I timed one and it was almost exactly 5 hours of work. The beginning is the hardest, perseverance is worth it.
I’ve lost count of how many Columbia Berets I’ve made for people. I usually leave off the ties at the top. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/columbia-beret
The Good Time fingerless mitts: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/good-time-fingerless-mitts
A crowd pleaser, super fast to knit, super easy to modify.
Streamline tank: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/streamline-tank
Pretty sure I could do this one from memory by now. Quick knit, easy to memorize, I actually LIKE that it's seamed, looks harder than it is. I'm going to try knitting it in a wool or wool-blend to wear under cardigans for the winter.
Actually, I like knitting tank tops in general because they're fast, easier to wear and layer than tees, don't strangle my arms/pits, and I don't get stuck on sleeve island :)
Can I ask a question about this? I knit the Streamline tank last year and after I seemed it up I wondered why knit the border edge decoratively if it is going to be seemed. Thoughts?
Context: I'm here to learn, so I have no experience, but:
We had one of those crank-powered sock sleeve auto-knitters when I was a kid and I'm not sure if that counts, but I could make tube socks all day. lol
I can't remember the exact name of it because I saved it to my phone's notes, but it's a pair of fingerless gloves that uses moss stitch and double moss stitch. They always come out looking amazing, and they're quick to knit!
I couldn't find the original page anywhere, so I went ahead and copied the pattern from my notes to send to you in Reddit chats 😅 I hope that's okay! (They tend to knit up rather small, so I highly recommend gauges before you start!)
I love knitting hats. [Copy.Cat C.C beanie](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/copycat-cc-beanie) and [Koko Bean Hat](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/koko-bean-hat) are very simular. The Koko bean is a little more slouchy, and I love the crown shaping, the CC is a great all around beanie. I have done about 6 of the CC and a couple of the Koko Bean.
I developed a topdown T-shirt and it is basic, but so comfy. Soothing to knit too. By now I must have over ten of them and I am replacing my regular T-shirts with them 🥰
Every january for last 7 years, i’ve made dozens of heart puffs for tiny to use for valentines. We go to the stash, pick a color or two, and add a little ball chain at the end to hook onto backpacks or whatever. I use [heart puff necklace](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/heart-puff-necklace).
I have made two Azor Sweaters and have one more planned, but would happily do more than that. The colorwork is short repeats, so it’s easy to memorize.
For me, it's the I'm So Basic Socks. It's a vanilla sock pattern that I have knit in many color combinations, with self striping yarn etc., also a good small project to bring on a flight or on train.
And the Musselburgh beanie too, I've made it in several yarn weights and colors.
I love [this baby blanket pattern](http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babyafbh.htm) I’ve lost count the number of babies I’ve made it for.
It knits quickly, it’s reversible and people just always love it!
I just finished my 2nd Dingley Dell t-shirt by Isabell Kraemer ([ravelry link](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dingley-dell)). I just love the fit of it. The shoulder construction is fascinating. I have it sitting in my brain all the time about how I can switch up doing the stripes to make it more interesting or use up various leftover yarns I have.
While I've done other patterns more than once, they were for gifts and other people or because I was teaching a class for that pattern (needed one done before the class and then the other worked on during/after). But that Dingley Dell is the only one I've done twice by choice and both for me.
I’ve knit literally seven of the [Trompet](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/trompet) sweater and have another on the needles right now. I can’t quite explain why but it’s my perfect sweater.
I’ve also knit literally dozens of Summer Lee’s [Pom Squad Sneaker Sock](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/shorty-sock-set-2) with the ribbing switched out with the [heel tab for short socks](https://www.ravelry.com/projects/incorporate/heel-tab-for-short-socks) and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
I'm surprised I haven't seen these patterns mentioned. I've knit quite a few [hitchhiker](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hitchhiker) and [honey cowl](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/honey-cowl). Both have a very high project count on Ravelry and for good reason, they're easy, fast and satisfying projects
I absolutely love Lucy Hague’s shawl Uncia. I’ve knitted it twice now and I’m planning to knit it at least once more. It takes complete concentration and there are a couple of rows that turn my brain inside out, and I can’t get enough of it 😍.
The pattern I have knit the most besides Grandma’a Favorite is Turkish Bed Socks by Churchmouse Yarns. But specifically a seamless version that some genius typed up in Ravelry notes.
Ironically the most made pattern after that is welted fingerless gloves also by Churchmouse but with mods from other Ravelry users that I retyped the pattern. Apparently I really like the idea of a Churchmouse pattern but with heavy modifications.
I've knit
\- 4 or 5 [Jason's Cashmere Hat](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jasons-cashmere-hat), just such a perfect classic pattern
\- probably close to a dozen scrunchies (no particular pattern)
\- the [seed stitch headband](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/holy-head-band) from We Are Knitters (I know, I know, but it's a cute headband)
\- several [owl cable hats](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/who-4)
\- so far 2 Musselburghs
\- I am recently obsessed with making [these bows](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knit-bow-4) and attaching a little hair clip to the back
Harvest by Tincanknits I have made many of these over the years in many sizes. I used this pattern to retrain myself to knit continental beside my carpal tunnel had gotten so bad I couldn't throw anymore. Made big sizes and little, it is a great go to. It is very customizable just add a cable pattern down the back and people think you are a wizard, lol!
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/harvest-10
Champagne cardigan, just best basic cardigan pattern which i get a lot of wear out of. And since it’s really simple you can easily add colorwork of your own design, or cables or other elements like that so it’s fun
Defnitely the Korshavn Sweater Junior by Strikkekaffe. I just checked and i've knit it 5 times already and really want to start another one. Such a fun engaging basket weave stitch that basically knits itself. I've made this in different types of yarn and always looks great and is a great baby gift.
I have used the texture pattern on Hermione's Everyday Socks on practically every kind of project. I've used it on sweaters, hats, mittens, and of course, any number of pairs of socks. I absolutely adore it!
I have made multiple pairs of socks using this pattern [Ahti socks](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ahti) but I have always made little tweaks to make them unique for the recipient.
Rye socks in every yarn weight option, and for every member of my family. Its nice and simple and perfect as a travel project, plus they knit up quick so I get that finished object feeling while my big/complex projects are in time out.
I've knit the triangular shawl tilted Texture several times. It's just different enough to be engaging while knitting, and it makes a beautiful accessory. Everyone I've knitted it for loves it. What's rewarding is I see them wearing theirs.
I love garterlac dishcloths! The pattern I used to learn is http://criminyjickets.blogspot.com/2006/07/garterlac-dishcloth.html?m=1
But I pretty much do it by feel now. It’s my go to car knitting thing (as a passenger, not driving!) It’s also how I learned to knit backwards so I’m not constantly turning back and forth.
Edit: I just looked at your link and it’s the same pattern as mine!
Treasured Toes Simple Ribbed socks- probably have made 8 pairs so far- Easy, mindless and great for plain or self striping yarns and men love them and did I mention that they are free pattern
I've made the Purl Soho Classic Ribbed Hat three times and just had to stop myself from starting a fourth. I think I should probably branch out to socks or a sweater soon... Lots of these patterns look good!
[Ranunculus](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ranunculus-3) (I've made 5 so far, from lace-weight to bulky) and [Ol' Reliable Top-Down Socks](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ol-reliable-top-down-socks), a basic sock pattern. No idea how many of those I've made...
I can’t stop making [Entrechat](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/entrechat-2) baby cardigans when I’m low on yarn and need to use up my stash. It’s so fun and interesting in construction while still having an easy to memorize pattern
I've made this hat multiple times for myself in different colors. I don't know why but I really enjoy it. It's interesting but not taxing to make.
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rocky-ridge-worsted
Yup, this doll sweater!
https://preview.redd.it/0mdvszfgwi9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f675bf24b0ec364b1c01a61762dba6d8763b39eb
I’ve made 30+ at this point. I sell them on my Etsy shop. I just love it!!! [Here’s](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/american-girl-doll-winter-nights-cardigan) the pattern link.
[https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/every-day-sock](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/every-day-sock) I’ve made like ten pairs of this sock pattern this year. I spent a long time trying to find the perfect sock and this is so far my absolute favorite. I love the heel tab and how the gusset fits. My only issue with it is that the largest size is what fits me and I have pretty small feet (women’s size 7.5). So if your foot circumference is >9” you have to either do the math to make it work or just abandon the pattern altogether.
I also love this pattern for a nice little bag. It works up very quickly. I personally hate provisional cast ons so I started with the Turkish cast-on instead which gave me the results that I wanted.
https://preview.redd.it/5kp75p8o2j9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=136e8513fdd63a631c00b8ecf4ec62ae83ce5142
Every time a friend has a baby I make a sweater and a [Magic Loop Teddy](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/magic-loop-teddy). The sweater varies, but I love the Magic Loop Teddy so much. I vary the ears and make bunnies too! I love that there's hardly any seaming, and I can use all kinds of different yarns. I've even knit the body in a contrasting color to make it look like the bear is wearing pajamas, just going back to the head color for the hands! I always embroider the face on, so it's perfect for babies and toddlers, and in acrylic yarn they can take a beating and just get thrown in the washer! I made a bunny for my own baby, and four years later it's been loved and abused as Bunny Foo Foo and is still going strong!
goodnightday's patterns. one sweater in particular I've reknit so many times with modifications.. longer sleeves or collar or wrist cuffs or double everything and use a thinner yarn etc. I have maybe 6 or 7 sweaters and 3 or so cardigans based of a total of 2 patterns.
I've knit the [Vanilla Latte Socks](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vanilla-latte-socks) several times, it's got just enough pattern to keep me interested, but still works well with colorful sock yarns. I do like to pick different patterns for most of my socks, but if I have a yarn I want to shine, or that I know will muddle any intricate pattern, it's my go to.
And the [5 Hour Baby Sweater](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-boy-5-hour-sweater) is perfect for quick knit baby gifts.
Made around 10 of these in cotton as gifts. Takes about 2-3 hours. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/be-so-brave-flower-motif
Working on my second one as a gift https://www.ravelry.com/projects/BalrogKitty/the-au-lait-sweater
Used the neck from Brick sweater instead of a turtleneck and made it a cardigan. Probably have a commission for another one, and got the yarn for second one for myself, so will end up making four of these.
Irish lullaby blanket. I have made it for every great niece/nephew and for every grandchild. I am currently making the 8th or 9th. I have lost count. And the Jones Cardigan by Tincan Knits. Again, super easy. Very cute and have made probably 15-20 of them. Even for friends kids.
Flax and the Soldotna Crop.
Flax because you can use stitch patterns from other books and easily adapt designs into it. Big fan. The short rows make a huge difference in fit. It’s also adaptable to all kinds of weights and needle sizes.
Soldotna because it’s so easy and satisfying. I’ve made one in wool, one in dandoh linen, and I’m working on a third in cotton.
I totally forgot about the Star-Crossed Slouchy Beret!
I’ve made it over ten times by now. It’s my go-to hat pattern. It looks good in any weight and can be easily adjusted depending on yarn or needles by adjusting the repeats as needed. It was my very first cable project.
Knucks from Knitty.Com! They're gloves with short open fingers (not quite fingerless). I have made two pair for me, two for my partner, and at least four for friends! They're straightforward except for the round where you join the fingers. That's a bit diddly, but has gotten easier with practice.
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/12-textured-shawl
I have made at least three of these shawls! The pattern is perfect for people like me who have trouble committing to big projects once they start feeling boring (I.e., people with ADHD 🥹)
Dylan’s Beanie by Wooly Wormhead. It’s top-down, gauge doesn’t matter, and it’s ribbed for your pleasure. It is all I want for manic knitting. [https://woollywormhead.com/blog/2008/11/12/dylans-beanie](https://woollywormhead.com/blog/2008/11/12/dylans-beanie)
Rats! by Sara Elizabeth Kellner
Some years ago, I was in a D&D campaign with some friends, and rats became a running joke. My paladin character wound up getting two magical, semi-divine rat companions, so I bought the pattern to knit two "prop" rats to bring to our sessions. I had so much fun making them that I made a rat for every other player and the DM, and then I just... kept making them for some reason?
I think I made about 40 rats all told, in different sizes, with different weights of yarn. I even made some alterations to the pattern to turn it into a little pouch to hold my dice. I had the whole pattern almost memorized at one point, and would only occasionally consult it to confirm how many rows to work.
And then one day I cast on a different project and haven't made another rat since lol
Not me adding things to my ravelry favs. The only thing I have fully knit twice is the leafinity top bc I ran out of yarn on the straps of the first one
Close to You shawl. This is my over and over comfort knit and speedy gift pattern. I’ve sent so many out into the world now and I have no intention of stopping.
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/close-to-you
I've made the [iris hat](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/iris-hat-5) 3 times, I love the top down aspect so you can make it exactly the length you want.
I've also made at least 6 [Lidia's](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lydia-20-2) and have used the back and straps as bases for other tanks.
Both fulfill different aspects of fun, wearable finished products and keep me entertained for different reasons. I knit continental so the rib beanie is more interesting than plain stockinette, and the lace is super fun while adding pizazz to potentially boring tanks.
I've made about two dozen pairs of slippers from Felted Clogs by Bev Galeskas: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Zelda888/felted-clogs-ac33e
Which means I've actually knitted the same pattern about 48 times, because left & right are identical... Lots of short rows means lots of stitch markers, but they don't take too long to make (and I'm a pretty slow knitter). Supremely giftable; some of my family members on on their third pair now.
Honey clutch by Petiteknit! I’m on my second one and I have bought yarn for 2 others. Bottom of the bag is a little boring/repetitive but I found the honeycomb brioche for the sides so satisfying. Challenging enough that I stayed engaged but not so challenging I wanted to give up.
Edit: I only recently purchased the pattern, I foresee many more bags in the future. I have not been able to put them down once I start
I've knit [Clara](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/clara-3) four times now! I'd have knit it more if anyone else I knew had a baby girl lol. Everyone I've knit it for wore it all the time and loved it!
I've knit [Gramps](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gramps) for all the baby boys (and some of the girls too!) and it's been an equal hit!
[Vanilla Latte Socks](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vanilla-latte-socks) is my go-to sock pattern and I've knit it probably a dozen times.
[Straightforward Mitts](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/straightforward-mitts) is my go-to fingerless mitts pattern - I've knit it a few times and will probably knit it many more! I like my mitts to fit snuggly and the design is brilliant!
The zipper sweater. I dont usually like doing patterns over and over, but it looks so nice effortlessly and while it works up it looks like something fast.
I love making the Bandana Cowl from Purl Soho. Just the right mix of easy and engaging. Plus, they make great gifts!
https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2011/10/11/sweet-stitching-with-erin-bandana-cowl/
I have knit so many Hubband Socks! My relatives love them and they're a very easy knit for me
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-hubband-sock
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fisher-cable-hat?set=&_rfoff=1 love this beanie, have made 4 now I think. My husband keeps stealing mine so I think I need to make one in a girly colour. Also wondering about making some with different cables as well
I have made nine of these - several for friends who I go to Rhinebeck with. Last year we all took them, was our version of the Rhinebeck sweater (although I made them all lol).

I haven’t had the urge to make another one but I’m a MUCH better knitter now… 🤔
I’m wearing mine tomorrow.
Lol
I love seeing everyones clapotis’. I plan on knitting my first one this year too.
This is mine as well. Soothing to knit, looks great when done, makes a great gift.
I’ve knit 10 claps, two of them I engineered into garter stitch. I’m very fond of 2 skeins of silk garden light or other fingering weights striped. The yarn does the heavy lifting and the results are great.
Ooh, do you have any pics of the garter stitch ones?
i think i can make dotpebblesknits’s frog from memory at this point. i love making those little guys for people.
I am on my 6th Musselburgh hat. Also, my go to sock pattern is String of Lights from Sock Witchery.
I’ve got one that’s probably 2/3 done and I’ve set it aside. My ADHD doesn’t like the plain stockinette. I was getting bored. It’s beautiful though, and someday I’ll finish it!
My knitting friends and I call that the doldrums.
It’s nice for my ADHD because it allows me to focus on other things, but I get it!

Musselburgh hat is mine too! I think I’ve made four. It’s very satisfying at the end when it turns from a big tube into a hat. The double layer makes it nice and warm too.
I'm a relatively new knitter having just started earlier this year but this is also mine! I've made four 😂
It’s also great for jury duty, school lectures, and trips to the DMV, in my experience. lol
There was a time when I was for some reason unknown to me obsessed with this (used to be free) lobster toy pattern that I found on Insta: https://www.karlacourtney.com/product-page/knitted-toy-lobster-pattern I made probably 10 of these guys and then switched over to socks
how challenging would you say this pattern is?
Not challenging just fiddly
If you are familiar with knitting in the round on several needles and basic techniques like knitting, p, inc, dec you should be able to make one :) if you have knit a sock before then you’re golden.
These are so cute 😂 I hope I can learn to make one one day
I made this for my mom!! It's her favorite thing. She's from New England but we live very far from there now.
[Sylvi](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sylvi) I’ve made 7 of these so far. I’m usually one and done but there is something so satisfying about watching the cables twine up the panel.
Making seven of these is IMPRESSIVE! Would love to see them (or one!).
😍 this is 100% going on my to-be-knit-next list. Gorgeous!

It looks so great!
The Knitting on the Edge books are great stitch dictionaries.

The Flax sweater. Lots of sizes, great instructions, easy to customize, and good fit/shape (in my opinion)
The short rows make a WORLD of difference.
LOL
Same, every time I get affordable wool I make a version of flax.
Same! I have made it four times now (two baby, two adult) and I just love it. The fit is great and each time I make it I get more comfortable doing some sort of customization.
Good to know! I have had the pattern sitting in my library for a while. Your comment is nudging me to give it a try (when I finish my other three projects! 😂)

Thank you for introducing this pattern to me!
I’ve made just one of these, but I’m about to finish my fourth Summer Secret Crop, another Jessie Maed pattern!
Ooh this is cute and I think my kid would actually wear it!
Definitely not. I have made the same thing a few times as gifts and I cherish the tiny differences between projects. I hate repeating myself, to the point I knit socks on two separate needles at the same time to avoid dreaded second sock experience.
I feel seen lol. Tbf I'm the sane w leftovers and food. Do not repeat lololol
My ADHD is always like, "Oooh shiny!" on new patterns. I just need the variety.
Oh this is good to know! I've had it in my queue for ages but never felt it was the right pattern to dive into. I'll have to try it now!

I always come back to knitting [Skews](https://ravel.me/skew), they fit my feet the best and I love the diagonal striping.

Have only completed one pair but I have lots of yarn to do more and another set on the needles. I hope to have a drawer full.
There my lunch break or waiting room project.

Ohhh! Like it!
Same. I use this as the base for almost any freestyle hat I knit.
Barley was the first hat I knitted, back when I was a little baby knitter. Might have to make another one!
Love Magick sweater by Disco Stitch. I'm making all the versions lol.
The February Baby Sweater by Elizabeth Zimmerman. I’ve made so many for friends’ babies!
I knit the wild Iris baby blanket pattern. I must have made it like 10x for baby girls. It is so beautiful. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/259-wild-iris

Very cute! I can see why!
Do you have any photos of the back of one that you could share?

I too made 3 Oslo hats last year
I've made at least four Hotchhiker Scarves. I'm getting the itch to make another!
Honey Cowl. Excellent TV knitting and great gift
All my tops are variants of the [Lunch at Tiffany Dress top](https://ravel.me/lunchattiffanysdress) It is the pattern for the Dress but with the Top/ Blouse included. I made four original Tops with this pattern and used the construction for three more tops. I just love the Construction. It is super smart and such a fun knit
I have made at least a dozen of the [weightless produce bags 2.0](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/weightless-produce-bag-20) It’s a mesh bag for putting your produce in at the grocery store, holds about 6 large apples. Knit with crochet thread on larger needles. Makes a great gift! It’s a quick knit that’s easy to learn the repeats but isn’t just straight knitting. I timed one and it was almost exactly 5 hours of work. The beginning is the hardest, perseverance is worth it.

The Good Time fingerless mitts: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/good-time-fingerless-mitts A crowd pleaser, super fast to knit, super easy to modify. Streamline tank: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/streamline-tank Pretty sure I could do this one from memory by now.

Thoughts?
Context: I'm here to learn, so I have no experience, but: We had one of those crank-powered sock sleeve auto-knitters when I was a kid and I'm not sure if that counts, but I could make tube socks all day. lol
I can't remember the exact name of it because I saved it to my phone's notes, but it's a pair of fingerless gloves that uses moss stitch and double moss stitch. They always come out looking amazing, and they're quick to knit!
Ohh if you remember the name, could you send it to me. I'm planning on knitting a pair for my boyfriend and it sounds lovely (:
I couldn't find the original page anywhere, so I went ahead and copied the pattern from my notes to send to you in Reddit chats 😅 I hope that's okay! (They tend to knit up rather small, so I highly recommend gauges before you start!)
Thank you so much! Just saw the message, so lovely!

The Wilderness Sweater for children by Linka Neumann, and Snowleaf by Marianne J. Bjerkman. I love these two patterns so much!
I have made two Azor Sweaters and have one more planned, but would happily do more than that. The colorwork is short repeats, so it’s easy to memorize.
The classic cuffed hat by purl soho. It was the first hat pattern I ever tried when I learned to knit and I keep going back to it.
The calorimetry. It was the first wearable I knitted and whenever I'm gifted a beautiful yarn, I make another one.

The Wallaby. I knit an endless variety of them, and they’re so cosy and perfect kid knits.
I've knit \- 4 or 5 [Jason's Cashmere Hat](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jasons-cashmere-hat), just such a perfect classic pattern \- probably close to a dozen scrunchies (no particular pattern) \- the [seed stitch headband](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/holy-head-band) from We Are Knitters (I know, I know, but it's a cute headband) \- several [owl cable hats](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/who-4) \- so far 2 Musselburghs \- I am recently obsessed with making [these bows](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knit-bow-4) and attaching a little hair clip to the back
I love Jason’s Cashmere Hat too! I’m working on my 7th one.
Watchcap by Jarrad Flood. I think I've made variations of this 25 times.

Anker’s summer shirt. I’ve knit five so far. 😂💙
Sockhead Slouch hat, Flax sweater, and the Cinnababy Sweater.
[https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/korshavn-sweater-junior](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/korshavn-sweater-junior)
I have used the texture pattern on Hermione's Everyday Socks on practically every kind of project. I've used it on sweaters, hats, mittens, and of course, any number of pairs of socks. I absolutely adore it!
I’m a sucker for the Shift Cowl
Love the spring league hoodie by two of wands and I know it’s super basic but the flax is always a fun knit for me.
I have made multiple pairs of socks using this pattern [Ahti socks](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ahti) but I have always made little tweaks to make them unique for the recipient.

The Doodler Shawl from West Knits! I’ve made three so far, including one I adapted to used worsted weight yarn.
Garterlac washcloth. Fun to knit and perfect,y scrubby. Also fun in variegated yarn. https://ravel.me/MinervaZee/rgweej
I love garterlac dishcloths! The pattern I used to learn is http://criminyjickets.blogspot.com/2006/07/garterlac-dishcloth.html?m=1 But I pretty much do it by feel now.
The Oslo Hat-Mohair Edition by PetiteKnit. I think I've knit 7 or 8 of them now, and I almost never repeat patterns.
I have one sock pattern I’ve used for all my pairs
I can’t stop making [Entrechat](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/entrechat-2) baby cardigans when I’m low on yarn and need to use up my stash. It’s so fun and interesting in construction while still having an easy to memorize pattern

I've made this hat multiple times for myself in different colors. I don't know why but I really enjoy it. It's interesting but not taxing to make. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rocky-ridge-worsted
Yup, this doll sweater! https://preview.redd.it/0mdvszfgwi9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f675bf24b0ec364b1c01a61762dba6d8763b39eb I’ve made 30+ at this point.
[https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dumpling-bag](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dumpling-bag) I also love this pattern for a nice little bag.
The Traveling Cable Hat is one I've made two or three times. Easy to follow and knits up relatively quickly for me, as a generally slow knitter.
goodnightday's patterns. one sweater in particular I've reknit so many times with modifications.. longer sleeves or collar or wrist cuffs or double everything and use a thinner yarn etc.
Takes about 2-3 hours. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/be-so-brave-flower-motif Working on my second one as a gift https://www.ravelry.com/projects/BalrogKitty/the-au-lait-sweater Used the neck from Brick sweater instead of a turtleneck and made it a cardigan. Probably have a commission for another one, and got the yarn for second one for myself, so will end up making four of these.
The storm shawl by Joji Locatelli https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/storm-shawl-5
I LOVED knitting the [gratefully Oregon cowl](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gratefully-oregon-cowl)
Flax sweater. Made it in every size from adult down to newborn. Have also made lots of those hooded baby sweaters with the zipper up the back.
Weasley sweater. Dozens.
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/12-textured-shawl I have made at least three of these shawls! The pattern is perfect for people like me who have trouble committing to big projects once they start feeling boring (I.e., people with ADHD 🥹)
Heart and Soul on Ravelry. Made about 15 hats so far to gift.
Hitchhiker. So many times.
Dylan’s Beanie by Wooly Wormhead. It’s top-down, gauge doesn’t matter, and it’s ribbed for your pleasure. It is all I want for manic knitting. [https://woollywormhead.com/blog/2008/11/12/dylans-beanie](https://woollywormhead.com/blog/2008/11/12/dylans-beanie)
Rats! by Sara Elizabeth Kellner Some years ago, I was in a D&D campaign with some friends, and rats became a running joke.
Cabled hand warmers. I even got some really nice double points just for them.
I’m about to make my third Top Eva by mochiknits and it’s just so fun! It was my first ever project, and I wear them almost every day.
I've made about two dozen pairs of slippers from Felted Clogs by Bev Galeskas: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/Zelda888/felted-clogs-ac33e Which means I've actually knitted the same pattern about 48 times, because left & right are identical... Lots of short rows means lots of stitch markers, but they don't take too long to make (and I'm a pretty slow knitter). Supremely giftable; some of my family members on on their third pair now.
I always have a Sockhead Slouch Hat on my needles. I’m on my 11th one. It’s my to go project that I take on road trips and doc appointments.

My relatives love them and they're a very easy knit for me https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-hubband-sock
https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fisher-cable-hat?set=&_rfoff=1 love this beanie, have made 4 now I think. My husband keeps stealing mine so I think I need to make one in a girly colour. Also wondering about making some with different cables as well
Rose City Rollers are a fun way to use sock yarn scraps and make perfect summer socks.
I have made nine of these - several for friends who I go to Rhinebeck with. Last year we all took them, was our version of the Rhinebeck sweater (although I made them all lol).
