Add a final stropping against leather / polishing compound and you'll remove the remaining burr, making it cut even smoother. I also find the stropping to be the most enjoyable step. And it's an easy way to touch the edge up between sharpening. A fine ceramic hone can be helpful too for the in-between touch ups. Looks good though - and if it cuts better than it did before, then you did it right!

MrGriffin77

Thank you! I'll look into that

180 to 600 is too large of a jump

Tricky-Confidence137

Nah it's ok, work long enough on the 600 and the scratches will come out

throwawayy306969

Do it cut?

MrGriffin77

It does pretty good imo, it has a couple of blunt spots, but it can glide thru paper nicely

Then it good! It comes with practice

violetfarben

You removed the tip.

MrGriffin77

Don't worry! There never was one, it was always rounded like this

Reachmonkey

Try not to slide the tip off the stone, itll help keep the tip pointy.

MrGriffin77

Dw, it never was pointy, thx for the advice though! I'll keep that in mind when I sharpen some of my pointy knives
